⁹ Here is a boy who has five barley loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many?

¹⁷ They said to him, We have here but five loaves and two fishes.

⁹ Have you no reflection? or do you not remember the five loaves among the five thousand, and how many baskets you filled with the fragments:

³⁸ He said to them, How many loaves have you? Go and see. Upon inquiry, they answered, Five and two fishes.

¹⁹ when I distributed the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you carry off? They answered, Twelve.
