²³ These things also are for the wise. To have respect of persons in judgment is not good.

¹⁵ Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment; thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the great; in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor.

¹⁷ Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; the small as well as the great shall ye hear; ye shall not be afraid of any man; for the judgment belongeth to God: and the cause that is too hard for you shall ye bring unto me, and I will hear it.

¹⁹ Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, and thou shalt not take a bribe; for the bribe blindeth the eyes of the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

⁷ And now let the dread of the Lord be upon you: take heed and act; for with the Lord our God there is no injustice, nor respect for persons, nor taking of bribes.

² How long will ye judge unjustly, and treat with favor the face of the wicked? Selah. ³ Judge uprightly the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and indigent. ⁴ Release the poor and needy: deliver them out of the power of the wicked.

⁴³ Whoever is wise, let him observe these things, and let all understand the kindness of the Lord.

⁶ To understand a proverb, and a sage sentence; the words of the wise, and their riddles.

⁵ It is not good to favor the person of the wicked, to wrest the cause of the righteous in judgment.

¹⁷ Incline thy ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thy heart unto my knowledge.

²¹ To have respect to persons is not good; because even for a piece of bread will a man transgress.

¹ Who is like the wise? and who knoweth as well the explanation of a thing? a man’s wisdom enlighteneth his face, and the boldness of his face will be lessened. ² I counsel thee, Keep the king’s command, and that which regardeth the oath to him taken by God. ³ Be not hasty to go out of his presence; engage not in an evil thing; for whatsoever pleaseth him, can he do; ⁴ Because the word of a king is powerful; and who may say unto him, What doest thou?— ⁵ Whoso keepeth the commandment will experience no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart knoweth both time and the just consequence.
