¹⁸ The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the treacherous shall be put in the stead of the upright.

⁸ The righteous is delivered out of distress, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

³ For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour; I have given Egypt for thy ransom, Cush and Seba in place of thee. ⁴ Since thou art precious in my eyes, art honorable, and I indeed do love thee: therefore will I give men in place of thee, and nations instead of thy soul.
