⁶ And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, with none to make you afraid; and I will remove evil beasts out of the land, and the sword shall not pass through your land.

²⁹ I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.

²² And I will send out against you the beasts of the field, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and diminish yourselves; so that your roads shall be desolate.

²⁴ And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord; and there came forth two she-bears out of the forest, and tore of them forty and two boys.

²⁵ And it happened at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the Lord; wherefore the Lord sent among them lions, which slew some of them. ²⁶ And they said to the king of Assyria, as followeth, The nations that thou hast led away, and settled in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land; wherefore he hath sent among them lions, and, behold, they are slaying them, since they know not the manner of the God of the land.

⁹ Behold, a son will be born to thee, he it is who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for Solomon [The Peaceful] shall be his name, and peace and quietness will I bestow on Israel in his days.

²³ For with the stones of the field shalt thou have thy covenant; and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

¹⁹ Also thou wilt stretch thyself out to rest, with none to make thee afraid; and many will entreat thy favor.

^{5 (3:6)} I laid myself down and slept: I awoke; for the Lord sustaineth me.

^{8 (4:9)} In peace, altogether, will I lay me down and sleep; for thou, Lord, alone, causest me to dwell in safety.

Unless the Lord do build the house, in vain labor they that build on it: unless the Lord guard the city, in vain is the watchman wakeful. ² It is in vain for you to be early in rising, to be late in sitting up, eating the bread of painful toils; for so doth he give unto his beloved during sleep.

¹⁴ He who bestoweth peace in thy borders, who satisfieth thee with the best of wheat;

²⁴ When thou layest thyself down, thou shalt feel no dread; and as thou liest down, thy sleep shall be pleasant.

²² When thou walkest, it shall lead thee; when thou liest down, it shall watch over thee; and when thou art awake, it shall converse with thee.

^{7 (9:6)} For promoting the increase of the government, and for peace without end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom, to establish it and to support it through justice and righteousness, from henceforth and unto eternity: the zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

⁹ No lion shall be there, and no ravenous beast shall go up thereon, shall not be found there; but there shall walk the redeemed:

⁷ Forming the light, and creating darkness; making peace, and creating evil: I the Lord do all these things.

¹⁰ And thou—do not fear, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord; and be not dismayed, O Israel; for, behold, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity: and Jacob shall return, and shall be at rest, and be secure, with none to terrify him.

¹⁷ So will I let loose over you famine and wild beasts, and they shall make thee childless; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and the sword will I bring over thee. I the Lord have spoken it.

¹⁵ If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they depopulate it, and it becometh desolate, without any one to pass through because of the beasts:

¹⁷ Or, if I should bring a sword over that land, and say, The sword shall pass through the land, and I cut off from it man and beast;

²¹ For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Although I send my four dreadful means of punishment over Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the wild beasts, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast:

²⁵ And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and I will cause the wild beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell in the wilderness in safety, and sleep in the forests.

^{18 (2:20)} And I will make for them a covenant on that day with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of the heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and bow, and sword, and war I will break away out of the land, and I will cause them to lie down in safety.

⁴ But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig-tree, with none to make them afraid; for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it.

¹³ The remnant of Israel shall not do injustice, nor speak lies; and there shall not be found in their mouth a deceitful tongue; for they shall feed and lie down, with none to make them afraid.

⁹ Greater shall be the glory of this latter house than that of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.

¹⁰ And I will cut off chariots from Ephraim, and horses from Jerusalem, and there shall be cut off the battle-bow, and he shall speak peace unto the nations; and his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.
