¹⁶ And it constantly increaseth; like a fierce lion dost thou hunt for me; and again thou showest thyself continually wonderful on me;

²⁹ If these men die as all men die, and if the visitation of all men be visited on them: then hath the Lord not sent me. ³⁰ But if the Lord do create a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertaineth unto them, and they go down alive into the pit: then shall ye understand that these men have provoked the Lord.

⁵⁹ Then will the Lord render peculiar thy plagues, and the plagues of thy seed, plagues great, and of long continuance, and sicknesses sore, and of long continuance.

⁹ Who doth great things which are unsearchable, marvelous things till they are without number;

¹³ I waited with patience till morning, whether as a lion, so would he break all my bones: from day until night wilt thou make an end of me.

¹⁰ A bear lying in wait is he to me, a lion in secret places.

⁷ And now I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard will I lie in wait by the way. ⁸ I will meet them as a bear bereaved of her whelps, and I will rend their closed-up heart; and I will devour them there like a lioness, the beasts of the field shall rend them.

⁸ The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord Eternal hath spoken, who will not prophesy?
