¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph, and said, The God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God who fed me from my first being unto this day,

²² And Enoch walked with God after he had begotten Methushelah three hundred years; and begat sons and daughters. ²³ And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years. ²⁴ And Enoch walked with God, and he was no more; for God had taken him.

⁹ These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just, perfect man in his generation; Noah walked with God.

¹ And when Abram was ninety and nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God: walk before me, and be thou perfect.

²⁰ And she hastened, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.

⁴ And make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.

³ And God, the Almighty, bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest become a multitude of people;

²⁰ And Jacob made a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me on this way which I am going, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

²² And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house; and of all that thou wilt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

¹⁶ The angel who redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be called on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

²⁴ But his bow abode in strength, and his arm and his hands remained firm; from the hands of the mighty God of Jacob, from there thou becamest the shepherd, the stone of Israel.

²⁸ All these are the tribes of Israel, twelve in number; and this is what their father spoke unto them, and wherewith he blessed them; every one according to his proper blessing blessed he them.

¹ And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses, the man of God, blessed the children of Israel before his death.

⁶ And Solomon said, Thou hast shown unto thy servant David my father great kindness, just as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, and thou hast given him a son who sitteth on his throne, as it is this day.

⁸ I have always set the Lord before me, that, being at my right hand, I might not be moved.

³ Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed thyself with truthfulness.

⁴ Who redeemeth from the pit thy life; who crowneth thee with kindness and mercies; ⁵ Who satisfieth with happiness thy spirit, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s plumage.

²⁴ It is not a good thing inherent in man that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy happiness for his toil. Also this have I seen, that it cometh out of the hand of God. ²⁵ For who can well eat, or who can enjoy earthly things more than I?

^{12 (5:11)} Sweet is the sleep of the laboring man, whether he eat little or much; but the overabundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.

^{18 (5:17)} Behold, what I have truly seen as a good thing, that it is fitting to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all one’s toil that he taketh under the sun the number of the days of his life, which God hath given him; for this is his portion.

⁷ All the toil of a man is for his mouth; and yet is his desire never filled.

²¹ And thy ears shall hear the word behind thee, saying, “This is the way, walk ye in it,” when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

¹⁶ He shall dwell on high; rocky strongholds shall be his refuge: his bread shall be given him; his water shall be sure.

² And they shall spread them out before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, which they have loved, and which they have served, and after which they have walked, and which they have sought, and to which they have prostrated themselves: they shall not be gathered up, and they shall not be buried; dung upon the face of the ground shall they become.
