^{2 (13:3)} And the sign or the token come to pass, whereof he spoke unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou dost not know, and let us serve them:

²² And the magicians of Egypt did so with their secret arts: and the heart of Pharaoh remained hardened, and he did not hearken unto them; as the Lord had spoken.

²² That which the prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, and the thing do not happen and come not to pass—this is the word which the Lord hath not spoken; in presumption hath the prophet spoken it; thou shalt not be afraid of him.

³ And he gave on the same day a token, saying, This is the token that the Lord hath spoken, Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes which are upon it shall be spilled about.

⁹ The prophet who prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet doth come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, as the one whom the Lord hath sent in truth.
