¹⁷ As it is written, I have made you a father of many peoples, in the presence of the God in whom you have believed, who quickens the dead, and who invites those who are not yet in being, as though they were present.

⁹ And do not think and say within yourselves, We have Abraham as our father; for I say to you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones.

²¹ For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to those whom he will.

²⁵ Truly, truly, I say to you, The time is coming, and it is now already here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear it will live.

⁶³ It is the spirit that gives life; the body is of no account; the words which I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

¹⁸ The works of God are known from the very beginning.

²⁹ Why? Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also God of the Gentiles? Yes, he is God of the Gentiles also;

² For if Abraham were justified by works, he had reason to be proud; but not before God.

¹¹ And if the Spirit of Him who raised our LORD Jesus Christ from the dead dwells within you, so he who raised Jesus Christ from the dead will also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells within you.

²⁸ And he has chosen those of humble families in the world, and the lowly, and those who are insignificant, in order to belittle those who consider themselves important,

⁴⁵ And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

¹ AND he has quickened you also who were dead because of your sins and trespasses; ² In which you previously walked according to the worldly course of this world, and according to the will of the supreme ruler of the air, the spirit which is active in the children of disobedience. ³ In those very deeds in which we were also corrupted from the very beginning through the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the wills of the flesh and of the mind: thereby we became completely the children of wrath, even as others. ⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, ⁵ Even when we were dead in our sins, has made us live together with Christ, by whose grace we are saved;

¹³ I charge you in the presence of God, the giver of life to all, and before Jesus Christ who gave a good testimony before Pontius Pilate;

⁷ By faith Noah, when he was warned concerning the things not seen, became fearful and he made an ark to save his household, and by it he condemned the world and he became heir of righteousness which is by faith.

¹² Therefore, there sprang from one who was as good as dead, as many as the stars of the sky in number, and as the sand which is on the sea shore innumerable.

¹⁰ You, who in the past were not considered a people, but who are now the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but who now have mercy poured out upon you.

⁸ But, my beloved, do not forget this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
