¹⁴ But clothe yourselves with our LORD Jesus Christ, and take no heed for the lusts of the flesh.

¹² Therefore, my brethren, we are not indebted to the flesh to live after the flesh. ¹³ For if you live after the flesh, you will die: but if you, through the Spirit, subdue the deeds of the body, you shall live.

²⁷ For those who have been baptized in the name of Christ have been clothed with Christ.

¹⁶ This I say then: Lead a spiritual life, and you shall never commit the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh craves that which is harmful to the Spirit, and the Spirit opposes the things of the flesh: and the two are contrary to one another, so that you are unable to do whatever you please.

²⁴ And those who belong to Christ have controlled their weaknesses and passions.

²⁴ And that you put on the new man, who is created by God in righteousness and true holiness.

⁵ Mortify therefore your earthly members: immorality, uncleanness, intemperate desires, evil lusts, and covetousness, for these are idolatry; ⁶ And it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. ⁷ In the past you also lived among these things, and you were perverted by them. ⁸ But now put off from you all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, foul conversation.

¹⁰ And put on the new life which is renewed in knowledge after the pattern in which it was originally created: ¹¹ Where there is neither Jew nor Syrian, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Greek nor barbarian, slave nor freeman; but Christ is all and in all men. ¹² Therefore as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on mercy, kindness, gentleness, humbleness of mind, meekness, patience;

¹¹ Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from carnal desires, which war against the soul;

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the body, and the covetousness of the eyes, and the pride of material things; does not come from the Father, but is of the world. ¹⁷ And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he who does the will of God abides forever.
