⁴⁰ And saying, O you who can tear down the temple and build it in three days, deliver yourself, if you are the Son of God, and come down from the cross.

³ And the tempter drew near and said to him, If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.

⁶ And he said to him, If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down; for it is written, that he will command his angels concerning you, and they will bear you up on their hands, so that even your foot may not strike a stone.

⁴ A wicked and adulterous generation wants a sign; and no sign shall be given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah. And he left them and went away.

⁶¹ And said, This man said, I can tear down the temple of God, and build it in three days.

⁶³ But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest answered and said to him, I adjure you by the living God, to tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God? ⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, You say that. But I say to you that from henceforth you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the power, and coming upon the clouds of the sky.

⁴² And they were saying, He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, so that we may see and believe in him.

⁵⁴ When the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus, saw the earthquake and all that happened, they were very much frightened, and they said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

²⁹ Lest after he has laid the foundation, he is not able to finish it, and all who see it will mock him, ³⁰ Saying, This man began to build, but he was not able to finish.

³¹ Abraham said to him, If they will not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe even if a man should rise from the dead.

¹⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, Tear down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. ²⁰ The Jews said to him, It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days? ²¹ But he spoke concerning the temple of his body. ²² When he rose from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scriptures and the word which Jesus had said.

¹⁰ And those who dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented those who dwelt on the earth.
