⁵ For many will come in my name, and say, I am the Christ, and they will deceive many.

¹¹ And many false prophets will rise, and will mislead a great many.

²⁴ For there will rise false Christs and lying prophets, and they will show signs and great wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.

⁴³ I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me; if another should come in his own name, you will receive him.

³⁶ For before these days, rose up TheuÆdas, boasting himself to be a great man; and about four hundred men followed him: he was slain; and those who followed him were scattered and nothing came of them. ³⁷ After him rose up Judas, the Gal-i-leÆan, in the days when people were registering for the head tax, and he misled many people into following him. He died; and all of those who followed him were dispersed.

⁹ Now there was there a man called Semon, who had lived in that city a long time, and who had deceived the Samaritan people by his magic, boasting of himself and saying, I am the greatest one. ¹⁰ And both the noblest and the least followed him, saying, He is the greatest power of God.

¹⁸ My children, it is the last time: and as you have heard that a false Christ shall come, even now there are many false Christs, and from this we know that it is the last time.

⁸ And all who dwell upon the earth shall worship him, even those whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
