¹² Whose shovel is in his hand, and he purifies his threshings; the wheat he gathers into his barns, and the straw he burns up in the unquenchable fire.

¹⁵ O land of Zabulon, O land of Napthali, the way to the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles! ¹⁶ The people who dwelt in darkness saw a great light, and those who settled in the country and in the midst of the shadows of death, light shone on them.

If you wish to be perfect, go and sell your possessions and give them to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven; then follow me. ²² When the young man heard this word, he went away sad, for he had great possessions.

⁷ When the king heard it he was angry; and he sent out his armies and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

And no man dared again to question him.

But if you do that which is wrong, be afraid; for he is not girded with the sword in vain; for he is the minister of God, and an avenger of wrath upon those who commit crime. ⁵ Wherefore, we must be obedient, not only in fear of wrath, but also for our conscience sake. ⁶ For, for this reason you pay head tax also: for they are ministers of God who are in charge of these things. ⁷ Render therefore, to every one as is due to him: head tax to him who is in charge of head tax, duty to him who is in charge of custom; reverence to whom reverence is due, and honor to whom honor is due. ⁸ Owe no man anything, but love one another: for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law, ⁹ Which says, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covet; and if there is any other commandment, it is fulfilled in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. ¹⁰ Love does not work evil to his neighbor because love is the fulfillment of the law.

²⁰ The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The Grace of our LORD Jesus Christ be with you.

³ We are bound to give thanks to God always for you, my brethren, as it is appropriate to do, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of all of you for one another increases;

And again, The LORD shall judge his people. ³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

⁹ But if you discriminate among men, you commit sin and you will be condemned by the law as transgressors of the law. ¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole law, except that he fail in but one statute, he is guilty as to the whole law. ¹¹ For he who said, Thou shalt not commit adultery, said also, Thou shalt not kill. Now if you do not commit adultery, but you kill, you have become a transgressor of the law. ¹² So speak and so act, as men who are to be judged by the law of liberty. ¹³ For a judgment without mercy will be on him, who does not show mercy; for you exalt yourselves by having mercy over judgment.

¹⁹ We have also a true word of prophecy; you do well when you look to it for guidance, as you look to the lamp that shines in a dark place until the dawn of day, when the sun will shine in your hearts:

⁷ But the present heavens and earth are sustained by his word, and are reserved for fire on the day of judgment which is the day of destruction of ungodly men.

¹⁸ But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ, and of God the Father. To him be glory both now and forever, and through all eternity. Amen.

⁸ Again, a new commandment I do write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shines.

¹⁶ I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

²⁰ He who testifies these things says, Surely I am coming soon. Amen. Come, LORD Jesus. ²¹ The grace of our LORD Jesus Christ be with you all, all you holy ones. Amen.
