⁴¹ Others were saying, He is the Christ; but others said, Is it possible that Christ should come from Galilee?

¹⁴ They said, There are some who say John the Baptist, others Elijah, and still others Jeremiah, or one of the prophets: ¹⁵ He said to them, Who do you say that I am? ¹⁶ Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

⁴¹ He saw his brother Simon first, and said to him, We have found the Christ.

⁴⁶ Nathanael said to him, Can anything good come out of Nazareth? Philip said to him, Come and you will see.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered, saying to him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel.

²⁵ The woman said to him, I know that the Messiah (Christ) is coming; when he is come, he will teach us everything.

²⁹ Come and see a man who told me everything which I have done; why, is he the Christ?

⁴² And they were saying to the woman, Henceforth it is not because of your word that we believe him; for we ourselves have heard and know, that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

⁶⁹ And we have believed and known that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

³¹ But a great many of the people believed in him and said, When the Christ comes, why, will he do greater wonders than this man does?

⁵² They answered and said to him, Why, are you also from Galilee? * Search and see that no prophet will rise up from Galilee.
