⁶ The tongue is a fire, and the sinful world like a forest: that very tongue, while it is among our members, can defile our whole body, and set on fire the records of our race which have rolled down from the beginning: and in the end it is consumed by fire.

²² But I say to you, that whoever becomes angry with his brother for no reason, is guilty before the court: and whoever should say to his brother, Raca (which means, I spit on you) is guilty before the congregation; and whoever says to his brother, you are a nurse maid, is condemned to hell fire.

²⁴ But when the Pharisees heard of it, they said, This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebub, the prince of demons.

³² And whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven, neither in this world nor in the world to come. ³³ Either produce like a good tree with good fruits, or produce like a bad tree with bad fruits; for a tree is known by its fruits. ³⁴ O generation of scorpions, how can you speak good things when you are bad? For the mouth speaks from the fullness of the heart. ³⁵ A good man brings out good things from good treasures, and a bad man brings out bad things from bad treasures. ³⁶ For I say to you, that for every foolish word which men speak, they will have to answer for it on the day of judgment.

¹¹ It is not what enters into the mouth which defiles man; but what goes out of the mouth, that is what defiles man. ¹² Then his disciples came up and said to him, Do you know that the Pharisees who heard this saying were offended? ¹³ But he answered and said to them, Every plant that my heavenly Father did not plant, shall be uprooted. ¹⁴ Leave them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if the blind lead around the blind, both will fall into a pit. ¹⁵ And Simon Peter answered and said to him, My Lord, explain this parable to us. ¹⁶ And he said to them, Even yet do you not understand? ¹⁷ Do you not know that what enters into the mouth goes into the stomach, and thence, through the intestines, is cast out? ¹⁸ But what comes out of the mouth comes out from the heart; and that is what defiles man. ¹⁹ For from the heart come out evil thoughts, such as fornication, murder, adultery, theft, false witness, blasphemy. ²⁰ It is these that defile man; but if a man should eat when his hands are unwashed, he will not be defiled.

¹⁵ There is nothing outside of a man, if it should enter into him, which can defile him; but what goes out of him, that defiles the man.

²⁰ It is what goes out of man which defiles the man. ²¹ For from within, from the heart of men go out evil thoughts, such as fornication, adultery, theft, murder, ²² Extortion, wickedness, deceit, lust, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness;

⁵⁵ The high priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus so that they might put him to death; but they could not find it. ⁵⁶ For even though many testified against him, their testimonies were not worthy. ⁵⁷ Then some men, who were false witnesses, stood up against him, and said,

²⁴ And he called in a loud voice and said, O my father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip his finger in water and wet my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

³ And Simon Peter said to him, An-a-niÆas, why has Satan so filled your heart that you should lie to the Holy Spirit and hide part of the money of the price of the field?

¹³ And they appointed false witnesses who said, This man does not cease to speak against the law and against this holy land:

³⁰ Also from among yourselves, men shall arise, speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them.

¹³ Their throats are like open sepulchres; their tongues are deceitful; the venom of asps is under their lips. ¹⁴ Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.

¹⁷ Now I beseech you, my brethren, beware of those who cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which you have been taught; keep away from them. ¹⁸ For those who are such do not serve our LORD Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by smooth words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple people.

¹³ For they are false apostles, and deceitful workers, posing as apostles of Christ. ¹⁴ There is no marvel in this; for if Satan disguises himself as the angel of light, ¹⁵ It is no great thing if his ministers also pose as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

³ But let not immorality or any uncleanness or covetousness be heard of among you, as becomes saints; ⁴ Neither cursing, nor foolish words, nor insults, nor words of flattery, none of which are necessary: but instead of these, let thanks be offered.

⁸ But now put off from you all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, foul conversation. ⁹ Do not lie one to another, but put away the old life with all its practices;

⁹ Even him, whose coming is due to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ And with all deceitfulness of unrighteousness in those who perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved thereby. ¹¹ For this cause God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie. ¹² That they all, who did not believe in the truth but preferred unrighteousness, might be damned.

¹¹ Whose mouths must be stopped, for they corrupt many families, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of filthy lucre.

⁷ Do not they blaspheme against that good name by which you are called?

¹ BUT there were false prophets also among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the LORD who has redeemed them, and thus bringing upon themselves swift destruction. ² Many will follow their pernicious ways, by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

³ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days mockers who scoff, following after their own lusts,

¹⁰ Therefore, if I come, I will mention the things which he did, gossiping against us with malicious words: and not content with this, he not only did not receive the brethren, but also forbade those who would like to receive them, and cast them out of the church.

⁸ Likewise also, these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise authority, and blaspheme against the glory. ⁹ Yet Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring railing accusation against him, but said, The LORD rebuke thee. ¹⁰ But these men blaspheme against those things about which they do not know: and what they know naturally as dumb beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

¹⁵ To execute judgment upon all, and to punish all who are ungodly for all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and for all the harsh words which the ungodly sinners have spoken. * ¹⁶ These are the ones who murmur and complain, following after their own lusts, and their mouths speak idle flattering words, praising people for the sake of gain. ¹⁷ But you, my beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our LORD Jesus Christ; ¹⁸ How they told you there will be mockers until the end of time, and they will always follow their own ungodly lusts.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit adultery. ¹⁵ And also you have those among you who hold to the teaching of the Nic-o-laÆi-tanes.

⁹ Thus the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out on the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹ AND as I stood on the sand of the sea, I saw a wild beast rise up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads blasphemous words. ² And the wild beast which I saw was like to a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority. ³ And one of his heads was as though mortally wounded; but his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered about the wild beast. ⁴ And they worshipped the dragon because he had given power to the beast : who can prevail against him to fight him? ⁵ And there was given to him a mouth that he might utter great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to make war for forty and two months.

¹⁴ Beguiling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the wild beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

²³ And the light of a lamp shall shine no more at all in you; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in you: for your merchants were the great men of the earth; for by your sorceries were all peoples deceived.

²⁰ And the wild beast was taken and with him the false prophet who wrought miracles before him with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the wild beast, and those who worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
