¹³ In whom, you also have heard the word of truth, which is the gospel for your salvation: in him you have believed, so you are sealed with the Holy Spirit that was promised,

¹⁵ And he said to them, Go to all the world, and preach my gospel to the whole creation. ¹⁶ He who believes and is baptized shall be saved; and he who does not believe shall be condemned.

¹³ So if you, who err, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father give the Holy Spirit from heaven to those who ask him?

⁴⁹ And I will send upon you the promise of my Father; but you remain in the city of Jerusalem, until you are clothed with power from on high.

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses; but truth and grace came into being by Jesus Christ.

²⁷ Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures unto life everlasting, which the Son of man will give you; for this one God the Father has sealed.

¹⁶ And I will ask of my Father, and he will give you another Comforter, to be with you for ever; ¹⁷ Even the Spirit of the truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it has not seen him, and does not know him; but you know him because he abides with you, and is in you.

²⁶ But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom my Father will send in my name, he will teach you everything, and remind you of everything which I tell you.

²⁶ But when the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from my Father, the Spirit of truth which proceeds from my Father, he will testify concerning me.

⁷ But I tell you the truth, It is better for you that I should go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I should go, I will send him to you. ⁸ And when he is come, he will rebuke the world concerning sin, concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment. ⁹ Concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; ¹⁰ Concerning righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you will not see me again; ¹¹ Concerning judgment, because the leader of this world has been judged. ¹² Again, I have many other things to tell you, but you cannot grasp them now. ¹³ But when the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak from himself, but what he hears that he will speak; and he will make known to you things which are to come in the future. ¹⁴ He will glorify me; because he will take of my own and show to you. ¹⁵ Everything that my Father has is mine; this is the reason why I told you that he will take of my own and show to you.

⁴ And as he ate bread with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Father, the one of whom you have heard from me.

¹⁶ But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel: ¹⁷ It shall come to pass in the last days, said God, I will pour my spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams: ¹⁸ And upon my servants and upon my maidservants will I pour out my spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy: ¹⁹ And I will show wonders in heaven, and signs on the earth; blood and fire and vapor of smoke: ²⁰ The sun shall be changed into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and fearful day of the Lord shall come. ²¹ And it shall come to pass that whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. ²² Men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man of God, who appeared among you by miracles and signs and wonders which God did by him among you, as you yourselves know:

³³ It is he who is exalted by the right hand of God, and has received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, and has poured out gifts which you now see and hear.

²⁶ O men and brethren, descendants of the family of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to you is the word of salvation sent.

¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one who believes; whether they are Jews first, or Arameans (Syrians). *

¹¹ For he received circumcision as a sign and a seal of the righteousness of his faith while he was uncircumcised: that he might become the father of all them who believe, though they be not circumcised, that righteousness might be given to them also;

¹⁷ But thank God that you, who were once the servants of sin, now obey from the heart that form of doctrine which has been delivered to you.

¹⁴ How then can they call on him on whom they have not believed? Or how can they believe on him whom they have never heard? Or how can they hear without a preacher? ¹⁵ Or how can they preach, if they are not sent forth? As it is written, How becoming are the feet of those who preach peace, and of those who bring good tidings. ¹⁶ For all have not heard the preaching of the gospel. For Isaiah said, My LORD, who has believed the echoes of our voice? ¹⁷ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

²² And who has sealed us, and pledged his spirit in our hearts.

⁷ By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

¹⁴ That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

¹¹ Wherefore remember that you were Gentiles in the flesh from the beginning, and you were called Uncircumcision, differing from that which is called Circumcision, which is the work of the hands in the flesh. ¹² At that time you were without Christ, being aliens to the customs of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, without hope, and without God in the world.

²¹ If you have truly heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is found in Jesus:

³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, whereby you are sealed unto the day of salvation.

⁴ Since we heard of your faith in Jesus Christ, and of your love for all the saints, ⁵ For the hope which is preserved for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the true word of the gospel; ⁶ Which has been preached to you, just as it has been preached throughout the world; growing and bringing forth fruits, as it does also in you, since the day you heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth;

²¹ Even to you, who in times past were alienated and hostile in your minds because of your evil works, has been given peace, ²² Through the sacrifice of his body and his death, so that he may raise you before him, holy, and without reproach and blameless: ²³ If you continue in your faith and your foundation is firm, and if you are not moved from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which has been preached to every creature which is under heaven and for which I, Paul, have become a minister;

¹³ For this cause also we thank God continually, because, when you received the word of God which you heard from us you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which works effectively in you who believe.

¹⁵ Strive to conduct yourself perfectly before God, as a soldier without reproach and one who preaches straightforwardly the word of truth.

¹⁹ Nevertheless the foundation of God stands firm, having this seal, The LORD knows those who are his, and he will save from iniquity every one who calls upon the name of the LORD.

¹⁵ And knowing that you have learned from your childhood the holy scriptures which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

¹¹ For the grace of God that brings salvation has been revealed to all men.

³ How shall we escape, if we neglect the very things which are our salvation and which were first spoken by our LORD, and were proved to us by those who had heard him,

¹⁸ It is he, who begot us of his own will with the word of truth, that we should be the firstfruits of his creatures.

¹⁰ You, who in the past were not considered a people, but who are now the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but who now have mercy poured out upon you.

² And I saw another angel, and he ascended from the direction of the rising sun, having the seal of the Living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying,
