⁴ And as he ate bread with them, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Father, the one of whom you have heard from me.

²⁰ For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father, which speaks through you.

¹³ So if you, who err, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father give the Holy Spirit from heaven to those who ask him?

¹² For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what you ought to say.

⁴¹ And as they still did not believe because of their joy, and they were bewildered, he said to them, Have you anything here to eat? ⁴² They gave him a portion of a broiled fish, and of a honeycomb. ⁴³ And he took it, and ate before their eyes.

⁴⁹ And I will send upon you the promise of my Father; but you remain in the city of Jerusalem, until you are clothed with power from on high.

³⁹ He said this concerning the Spirit, which they who believe in him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

¹⁶ And I will ask of my Father, and he will give you another Comforter, to be with you for ever;

²⁶ But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom my Father will send in my name, he will teach you everything, and remind you of everything which I tell you. ²⁷ Peace I leave with you; my own peace I give you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid. ²⁸ You heard that I told you, I am going away, and I will come to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice because I am going to my Father; for my Father is greater than I.

²⁶ But when the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from my Father, the Spirit of truth which proceeds from my Father, he will testify concerning me.

⁷ But I tell you the truth, It is better for you that I should go away; for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I should go, I will send him to you. ⁸ And when he is come, he will rebuke the world concerning sin, concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment. ⁹ Concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; ¹⁰ Concerning righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you will not see me again; ¹¹ Concerning judgment, because the leader of this world has been judged. ¹² Again, I have many other things to tell you, but you cannot grasp them now. ¹³ But when the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak from himself, but what he hears that he will speak; and he will make known to you things which are to come in the future. ¹⁴ He will glorify me; because he will take of my own and show to you. ¹⁵ Everything that my Father has is mine; this is the reason why I told you that he will take of my own and show to you.

²² And when he had said these things, he gave them courage and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.

³³ It is he who is exalted by the right hand of God, and has received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, and has poured out gifts which you now see and hear.

⁴¹ Not to all the people, but to us who have been chosen by God to be his witnesses, for we did eat and drink with him after his resurrection from the dead.
