²⁶ And come to themselves, and be saved from the trap of Satan, by whom they have been trapped to his will.

²⁸ And if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come near to you. ²⁹ Or, how can a man enter into a strong manÆs house and plunder his goods, except he first bind the strong man, and then he plunders his house?

²¹ When a strong man is armed and keeps watch over his courtyard, * his property is safe;

¹⁷ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired workers are now in my fatherÆs house, who have plenty of bread, and I am here perishing with hunger!

³¹ And Jesus said to Simon, Simon, behold Satan wants to sift all of you as wheat; ³² But I have made supplication for you that your faith may not weaken; and even you in time will repent, and strengthen your brethren.

² During supper, Satan put into the heart of Judas, son of Simon of Iscariot, to deliver him.

²⁷ And after the bread, Satan took possession of him. So Jesus said to him, What you are going to do, do it soon.

³ And Simon Peter said to him, An-a-niÆas, why has Satan so filled your heart that you should lie to the Holy Spirit and hide part of the money of the price of the field?

¹⁸ To open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, and receive forgiveness of sins, and a portion with the saints who are of the faith in me.

³⁴ Awake your hearts to righteousness and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I say this to your shame.

¹¹ Lest Satan might take advantage of us: for we know his devices.

¹⁴ Therefore it is said: Awake thou that sleepest, and rise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

¹³ And has delivered us from the power of darkness, and brought us to the kingdom of his beloved Son:

⁹ Even him, whose coming is due to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ And with all deceitfulness of unrighteousness in those who perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved thereby. ¹¹ For this cause God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie. ¹² That they all, who did not believe in the truth but preferred unrighteousness, might be damned.

²⁰ Namely Hy-me-nµÆus and Al-ex-an-der, whom I have delivered to Satan, to be disciplined so that they may no longer blaspheme.

⁷ Moreover, he must have a good report from outsiders; lest he fall into reproach and the snares of the devil.

⁹ For those who desire to be rich, fall into temptations, and snares, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in degeneration and destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all evil: and there are some men who have coveted it and have thereby erred from the faith, they have brought to themselves many sorrows.

¹⁸ For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the sensual lusts of the flesh; but there are those who flee at a word of warning from those who live in error. ¹⁹ They, while they promise liberty, themselves are the slaves of corruption: for a man is overcome by whatever it is that enslaves him. ²⁰ For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through knowledge of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled by these very things, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

⁹ Thus the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out on the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

² And he seized the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Tempter and Satan, who deceived the whole world, and bound him a thousand years, ³ And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up and set a seal over him, that he should no more deceive the nations until the thousand years should be fulfilled: after that he will be loosed for a short time.
