⁸ To the froward God sends froward ways; for his works are pure and right.

⁵ And the Lord God, having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that every one in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually, ⁶ then God laid it to heart that he had made man upon the earth, and he pondered [it] deeply.

¹² And the Lord God saw the earth, and it was corrupted; because all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.

¹⁴ For who, being a mortal, [is such] that he shall be blameless? or, [who that is] born of a woman, that he should be just? ¹⁵ Forasmuch as he trusts not his saints; and the heaven is not pure before him. ¹⁶ Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.

² He that walks blameless, and works righteousness, who speaks truth in his heart. ³ Who has not spoken craftily with is tongue, neither has done evil to his neighbor, nor taken up a reproach against them that lived nearest to him.

¹⁵ whose paths are crooked, and their courses winding;

²⁶ An unrighteous thought is abomination to the Lord; but the sayings of the pure are held in honor.

¹² A wicked generation judge themselves to be just, but do not cleanse their way.

²⁹ which my soul sought after, but I found not: for I have found one man of a thousand; but a woman in all these I have not found.

³ There is this evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one event to all: yes, the heart of the sons of men is filled with evil, and madness is in their heart during their life, and after that [they go] to the dead.

¹⁰ Many must be tested, and thoroughly whitened, and tried with fire, and sanctified; but the transgressors shall transgress: and none of the transgressors shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
