²⁰ [There is] deceit in the heart of him that imagines evil; but they that love peace shall rejoice.

¹² The desires of the ungodly are evil; but the roots of the godly are firmly set.

²⁴ A weeping enemy promises all things with his lips, but in his heart he contrives deceit. ²⁵ Though [your] enemy entreat you with a loud voice, consent not: for there are seven abominations in his heart. ²⁶ He that hides enmity frames deceit: but being easily discerned, exposes his own sins in the public assemblies.

⁶ For a child is born to us, and a son is given to us, whose government is upon his shoulder: and his name is called the Messenger of great counsel: for I will bring peace upon the princes, and health to him. ⁷ His government shall be great, and of his peace there is no end: [it shall be] upon the throne of David, and [upon] his kingdom, to establish it, and to support [it] with judgment and with righteousness, from henceforth and forever. The seal of the Lord of hosts shall perform this.

¹⁶ But I have not been weary of following you, nor have I desired the day of man; you know; the [words] that proceed out of my lips are before your face.

¹³ And he shall receive power, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and there shall be a priest on his right hand, and a peaceful counsel shall be between [them] both.
