⁵ And my body is covered with loathsome worms; and I waste away, scraping off clods of dust from my eruption.

⁷ So the devil went out from the Lord, and struck Job with sore boils from [his] feet to [his] head. ⁸ And he took a potsherd to scrape away the discharge, and sat upon a dung-heap outside the city.

³¹ you had thoroughly plunged me in filth, and my garment had abhorred me.

¹⁴ I have called upon death to be my father, and corruption [to be] my mother and sister.

²⁶ [and] to raise up upon the earth my skin that endures these [sufferings]: for these things have been accomplished to me of the Lord;

²⁰ Then is his sin brought to remembrance, and he vanishes like a vapor of dew: but let what he has done be recompensed to him, and let every unrighteous one be crushed like rotten wood.

¹⁸ With great force [my disease] has taken hold of my garment: it has compassed me as the collar of my coat. ¹⁹ And you have counted me as clay; my portion in dust and ashes.

⁵ Behold, you have made my days old; and my existence [is] as nothing before you: nay, every man living [is] altogether vanity. Pause. ⁶ Surely man walks in a shadow; nay, he is disquieted in vain: he lays up treasures, and knows not for whom he shall gather them. ⁷ And now what [is] my expectation? [is it] not the Lord? and my ground [of hope] is with you. Pause.

⁶ From the feet to the head, there is no soundness in them; neither wound, nor bruise, nor festering ulcer [are healed]: it is not possible to apply a plaister, nor oil, nor bandages.

¹¹ Your glory has come down to Hades, and your great mirth: under you they shall spread corruption, and the worm shall be your covering.

²⁴ And they shall go forth, and see the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched; and they shall be a spectacle to all flesh.

⁴³ And you⌃ shall there remember your ways, and your devices wherewith you⌃ defiled yourselves; and you⌃ shall bewail yourselves for all your wickedness.
