¹⁹ yet he sent prophets to them, to turn them to the Lord; but they listened not: and he testified to them, but they obeyed not.

¹³ And the Lord testified against Israel and against Juda, even by the hand of all his prophets, [and] of every seer, saying, Turn you⌃ from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my ordinances, and all the law which I commanded your fathers, [and] all that I sent to them by the hand of my servants the prophets. ¹⁴ But they listened not, and made their neck harder than the neck of their fathers. ¹⁵ And they kept not any of his testimonies which he charged them; and they walked after vanities, and became vain, and after the nations round about them, concerning which the Lord had charged them not to do accordingly.

¹⁵ And the Lord God of their fathers sent by the hand of his prophets; rising early and sending his messengers, for he spared his people, and his sanctuary. ¹⁶ Nevertheless they sneered at his messengers, and set at nothing his words, and mocked his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose up against his people, till there was no remedy.

²⁶ But they turned, and revolted from you, and cast your law behind their backs; and they killed your prophets, who testified against them to turn them back to you, and they wrought great provocations.

⁷ Bring to the Lord, you⌃ families of the Gentiles, bring to the Lord glory and honor. ⁸ Bring to the Lord the glory [becoming] his name: take offerings, and go into his courts.

²³ Listen, and hear my voice; attend, and hear my words.

²³ Who [is there] among you that will give ear to these things? listen you⌃ to the things which are coming to pass.

⁴ Hear me, hear me, my people; and you⌃ kings, listen to me: for a law shall proceed from me, and my judgment [shall be] for a light of the nations.

³ Give heed with your ears, and follow my ways: listen to me, and your soul shall live in prosperity; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, the sure mercies of David.

²⁵ from the day that their fathers went forth out of the land of Egypt, even until this day. And I sent to you all my servants, the prophets, by day and early in the morning: yes, I sent [them], ²⁶ but they listened not to me, and their ear gave no heed; and they made their neck harder than their fathers.

⁴ and I sent to you my servants the prophets, sending them early; (but you⌃ listened not, and listened not with your ears;) saying, ⁵ Turn you⌃ every one from his evil way, and from your evil practices, and you⌃ shall dwell in the land which I gave to you and your fathers, of old and for ever.

⁵ Why do they fear, and turn back? even because their mighty men shall be slain: they have utterly fled, and being hemmed in they have not rallied, says the Lord.

⁴ Now Jeremias came and went through the midst of the city: for they [had] not put him into the house of the prison. ⁵ And the host of Pharao was come forth out of Egypt; and the Chaldeans heard the report of them, and they went up from Jerusalem.
