¹ Or are you ignorant, brothers, (for I speak to those knowing law), that the law lords it over the man for as long a time as he lives? ² For the married woman was bound by law to the living husband; but if the husband dies, she is set free from the law of the husband. ³ So then, if the husband is living, she will be called an adulteress if she becomes another man's. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so as for her not to be an adulteress by becoming another man's. ⁴ So that, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, for you to become Another's, to One raised from the dead, so that we may bear fruit to God. ⁵ For when we were in the flesh, the passions of sin were working in our members through the law for the bearing of fruit unto death. ⁶ But now we have been set free from the law, having died to that in which we were held, so as for us to serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of letter. ⁷ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Let it not be! But I did not know sin except through law; for also I did not know lust except the law said, "You shall not lust." Ex. 20:17 ⁸ But sin taking occasion through the commandment worked every lust in me; for apart from law, sin is dead. ⁹ And I was alive apart from law once, but the commandment came, and sin came alive, and I died. ¹⁰ And the commandment which was to life, this was found to be death to me; ¹¹ for sin taking occasion through the commandment deceived me, and through it killed me . ¹² So indeed the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good. ¹³ Then that which is good, has it become death to me? Let it not be! But sin, that it might appear to be sin, having worked out death to me through the good, in order that sin might become excessively sinful through the commandment. ¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual, and I am fleshly, having been sold under sin. ¹⁵ For what I work out, I do not know. For what I do not will, this I do. But what I hate, this I do. ¹⁶ But if I do what I do not will, I agree with the law, that it is good. ¹⁷ But now I no longer work it out, but the sin dwelling in me. ¹⁸ For I know that in me, that is in my flesh, dwells no good. For to will is present to me, but to work out the good I do not find. ¹⁹ For what good I desire, I do not do. But the evil I do not desire, this I do. ²⁰ But if I do what I do not desire, it is no longer I working it out, but sin dwelling in me. ²¹ I find then the law, when I desire to do the right, that evil is present with me. ²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man; ²³ but I see another law in my members having warred against the law of my mind, and taking me captive by the law of sin being in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? ²⁵ I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then I myself with the mind truly serve the law of God, and with the flesh the law of sin.

²⁵ And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God in your hand, you appoint judges and magistrates who may judge all the people who are Beyond the River; all who know the laws of your God; and those who do not know, you cause to know.

²³ For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; and reproofs of instruction are a way of life,

¹³ But I do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, that often I purposed to come to you, and was kept back until the present, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among the other nations.

¹⁷ Behold, you are called a Jew, and rest in the Law, and boast in God, ¹⁸ and know the will, and approve the things excelling, being instructed out of the Law,

³ Or are you ignorant that all who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

¹⁴ For your sin shall not lord it over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.

⁶ But now we have been set free from the law, having died to that in which we were held, so as for us to serve in newness of spirit, and not in oldness of letter.

³ for I myself was wishing to be a curse from Christ on behalf of my brothers, my kinsmen according to flesh,

¹ Brothers, truly my heart's pleasure and supplication to God on behalf of Israel is for it to be saved.

⁸ Do I speak these things according to man, or does not the Law say these things also?

²¹ Tell me, those desiring to be under Law, do you not hear the Law?

²³ And the man said, This now at last is bone from my bones, and flesh from my flesh. For this shall be called Woman, because this has been taken out of man. ²⁴ Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.

⁷ and her husband has heard, and in the day he heard he has remained silent as to her, then her vows shall stand, and her bond with which she has bound her soul shall stand. ⁸ And if in the day her husband hears, he prohibits her, then he has broken her vow which is on her, and the rash utterance of her lips with which she has bound her soul. And Jehovah will forgive her.

⁴ The wife does not have authority of her own body, but the husband. And likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife.

³⁹ A wife is bound by law for as long a time as her husband lives; but if her husband sleeps, she is free to be married to whomever she desires, only in the Lord.

¹⁴ You shall not commit adultery.

¹⁰ And a man who commits adultery with a man's wife, who commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, the adulterer and the adulteress are surely to be put to death.

¹³ and a man lies with her with semen, and it has been hidden from her husband's eyes, and is kept hidden, and she is defiled, and there is no other witness against her, and she has not been caught; ¹⁴ and a spirit of jealousy has passed over him, and he has become jealous of his wife, and she has been defiled. Or, a spirit of jealousy has passed over him, and he has become jealous of his wife, and she has not become defiled: ¹⁵ then the man shall bring his wife in to the priest, and he shall bring in her offering for her, a tenth of an ephah of barley meal. He shall not pour oil on it, nor shall he put frankincense on it, for it is a food offering of jealousy, a food offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance. ¹⁶ And the priest shall bring her near, and shall cause her to stand before Jehovah. ¹⁷ And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel. And the priest shall take of the dust which is on the tabernacle floor, and shall put it into the water. ¹⁸ And the priest shall cause the woman to stand before Jehovah, and shall uncover the woman's head, and shall give into her hand the food offering of memorial; it is a food offering of jealousy; and in the priest's hand shall be the bitter waters which cause the curse. ¹⁹ And the priest shall cause her to swear and shall say to the woman, If no man has lain with you, and if you have not turned aside to impurity under your husband, be free from these bitter waters which cause the curse. ²⁰ And you, if you have turned aside under your husband, and if you have been defiled, and any man besides your husband has given his semen to you, ²¹ then the priest shall cause the woman to swear with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say to the woman: Jehovah shall make you a curse and an oath among your people, when Jehovah makes your thigh to fall away, and your belly to swell, ²² And these waters which cause the curse shall go into your bowels to cause the belly to swell, and the thigh to fall. And the woman shall say, Amen, amen. ²³ And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and shall blot them with the bitter waters. ²⁴ And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water which cause the curse. And the water which cause the curse shall enter into her for bitter things. ²⁵ And the priest shall take the food offering of jealousy out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the food offering before Jehovah, and shall bring it near to the altar. ²⁶ And the priest shall take a handful of the food offering, its memorial, and shall burn it as incense on the altar. And afterward he shall cause the woman to drink the water. ²⁷ And when he shall cause her to drink the water, then it shall be, if she has been defiled and has committed a trespass against her husband, the water which cause the curse shall go into her for bitter things; and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away, and the woman shall become a curse in the midst of her people. ²⁸ And if the woman has not been defiled, and is pure, then she shall be clean and shall conceive seed. ²⁹ This is the law of jealousies when a wife turns aside under her husband, and has been defiled; ³⁰ or when a spirit of jealousy passes over a man, and he has become jealous of his wife, then he shall cause the woman to stand before Jehovah, and the priest shall do to her all this law; ³¹ and the man shall be clean from sin, and the woman shall bear her iniquity.

²² If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman. And you shall put away the evil from Israel. ²³ If there is a girl that is a virgin, betrothed to a man, and a man finds her in the city, and lies with her, ²⁴ then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city. And you shall stone them with stones so that they die, the girl because she did not cry out, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor's wife. And you shall put away the evil from among you.

¹³ And she said, Let me find grace in your eyes, my lord, because you have comforted me, and because you have spoken to the heart of your handmaid. And I surely am not as one of your handmaids.

³⁹ And David heard that Nabal had died, and said, Blessed be Jehovah who has contended for the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal; and His servant has been kept back from evil. And Jehovah has caused the evil doing of Nabal to return on his head. And David sent and spoke with Abigail, to take her to himself for a wife. ⁴⁰ And David's servants came to Abigail at Carmel, and spoke to her, saying, David has sent us to you to take you to him for a wife. ⁴¹ And she rose up and bowed her face to the earth, and said, Behold, let your handmaid be a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord. ⁴² And Abigail hurried and arose and rode on an ass, and five of her young women following her. And she went after David's messengers. And she became a wife to him.

³² But I say to you, Whoever puts away his wife, apart from a matter of fornication, causes her to commit adultery. And who ever shall marry the one put away commits adultery.

⁶ But from the beginning of creation "God made them male and female." Gen. 1:27 ⁷ "Because of this, a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, ⁸ and the two shall be one flesh;" so that they no longer are two, but one flesh. Gen. 2:24 ⁹ Therefore, what God yoked together, let not man put apart. ¹⁰ And again, in the house His disciples asked Him about the same. ¹¹ And He said to them, Whoever shall puts away his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. ¹² And if a woman puts away her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.

³ And the scribes and the Pharisees brought to Him a woman having been taken in adultery. And standing her in the middle, ⁴ they said to Him, Teacher, this woman was taken in the very act, committing adultery. ⁵ And in the Law, Moses commanded that such should be stoned. You, then, what do you say?

¹¹ But refuse younger widows; for whenever they grow lustful against Christ, they desire to marry, ¹² having guilt because they set aside the first faith; ¹³ and with it all, they also learn to be idle, going around the houses, and not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, speaking the things not proper. ¹⁴ Therefore, I desire the young women to marry, to bear children, to rule the house, giving no occasion to the adversary on account of reproach.

¹⁰ Listen, O daughter, and look, and incline your ear, and forget your people and your father's house. ¹¹ And the King will desire your beauty, for He is your Lord, and you shall worship Him. ¹² And the daughter of Tyre will stroke Your face with a gift, the rich among the peoples. ¹³ The king's daughter is all glorious within, her clothing braided gold. ¹⁴ She shall be led to the King in embroidered work; her companions, the virgins, shall be brought to You after her. ¹⁵ They shall be led with gladness and rejoicing; they shall go in to the King's palace. ¹⁶ Your sons shall be in the place of your fathers; You will make them for rulers in all the earth.

⁵ For your Maker is your husband; Jehovah of Hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of all the earth.

⁵ For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you. And as a bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your God shall rejoice over you.

¹⁹ And I will betroth you to Me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in mercy, and in compassions. ²⁰ I will even betroth you to Me in faithfulness. And you shall know Jehovah.

²⁶ And as they ate, taking the bread and blessing it, Jesus broke and gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is My body.

²⁹ The one having the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom, standing and hearing him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom's voice. Then this my joy has been fulfilled.

⁵¹ I am the Living Bread that came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever. And indeed the bread which I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

⁸ In this My Father is glorified, that you should bear much fruit; and you will be My disciples.

² Let it not be! We who died to sin, how shall we still live in it?

²² But now being set free from sin, and being enslaved to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end everlasting life.

² For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus set me free from the law of sin and of death.

¹⁶ The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a partaking of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a partaking of the body of Christ?

² For I am jealous over you with a jealousy of God. For I have promised you to one Man, to present you a pure virgin to Christ.

¹⁹ For through law I died to law, that I might live to God. ²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith toward the Son of God, the One loving me and giving Himself over on my behalf.

¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it has been written, "Cursed is everyone having been hung on a tree;" Deut. 21:23

¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, self-control. Against such things there is not a law.

¹⁵ in His flesh causing to cease the enmity, the Law of the commandments in decrees, that He might in Himself create the two into one new man, making peace,

²³ because a husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is Head of the church, and He is Savior of the body. ²⁴ But even as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives to their own husbands in everything. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up on its behalf, ²⁶ that He might sanctify it, cleansing it by the washing of the water in the Word, ²⁷ that He might present it to Himself as the glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such things, but that it be holy and without blemish.

¹¹ being filled with the fruits of righteousness through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

¹⁷ Not that I seek a gift, but I seek the fruit multiplying to your account.

⁶ coming to you, as also in all the world, and it is bearing fruit even also among you, from the day in which you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

¹⁰ for you to walk worthily of the Lord to all pleasing, bearing fruit in every good work and growing into the full knowledge of God;

²² in the body of His flesh, through death, to present you holy and without blemish and without charge before Him,

¹⁴ blotting out the handwriting in the ordinances against us, which was contrary to us, even He has taken it out of the midst, nailing it to the cross;

²⁰ If, then, you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why are you under its decrees, as living in the world?

¹⁰ by which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

²⁴ who "Himself bore in His body our sins" onto the tree; that dying to sins, we might live to righteousness; of whom, "by His wound, you were healed.

⁷ Let us rejoice and let us exult, and we will give glory to Him, because the marriage of the Lamb came, and His wife prepared herself.

⁹ And one of the seven angels came to me, he having the seven bowls being filled with the seven last plagues, and spoke with me, saying, Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, blasphemies.

⁶ That receiving birth from the flesh is flesh, and that receiving birth from the Spirit is spirit.

²⁶ Because of this, God gave them up to dishonorable passions, for even their females changed the natural use to that contrary to nature.

²⁰ Because by works of law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2

¹⁵ For the law works out wrath; for where no law is, neither is transgression.

²⁰ But Law came in beside, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace much more abounded,

¹³ Neither present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as one living from the dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God.

¹⁹ I speak as a man on account of the weakness of your flesh. For as you presented your members as slaves to uncleanness and to lawless act unto lawless act, so now yield your members as slaves to righteousness unto sanctification.

²¹ Therefore what fruit did you have then in the things over which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁸ And those being in the flesh are not able to please God. ⁹ But you are not in flesh, but in Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, this one is not His.

⁵⁶ Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law;

⁶ who also made us able ministers of a new covenant, not of letter, but of Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit makes alive. ⁷ But if the ministry of death having been engraved in letters in stone was with glory, so as the sons of Israel could not gaze into "the face of Moses" because of the glory of his face, which was to cease, Ex. 34:34 ⁸ how much rather the ministry of the Spirit will be in glory! ⁹ For if the ministry of condemnation was glory, much rather the ministry of righteousness abounds in glory. ¹⁰ For as many as are out of works of law, these are under a curse. For it has been written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things having been written in the book of the Law, to do them." Deut. 27:26

¹⁶ But I say, Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another; lest whatever you may will, these things you do.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkennesses, wild parties, and things like these; of which I tell you beforehand, as I also said before, that the ones practicing such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

²⁴ But the ones belonging to Christ crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

³ among whom we also all conducted ourselves in times past in the lusts of our flesh, doing the things willed of the flesh and of the understandings, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as the rest.

¹¹ Because of this, remember that you, the nations, were then in the flesh (those having been called Uncircumcision by those having been called Circumcision in the flesh made by hand)

⁵ Then put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication; uncleanness; passion; evil lust; and covetousness, which is idolatry;

³ For we also once were senseless, disobedient, led astray, slaving for various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

¹⁵ Then being conceived, lust brings forth sin. And sin being fully formed brings forth death.

⁹ But if you have partiality to persons, you work sin, having been found guilty as transgressors by the law. ¹⁰ For whoever shall keep all the law, but stumbles in one, he has become guilty of all.

¹ From where do wars and fightings among you come ? Is it not from this, from your lusts warring in your members?

⁴ Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

¹⁹ And I shall give to them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will remove the stony heart out of their flesh, and I will give them a heart of flesh,

²⁶ And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh.

⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the gospel of His Son, how without ceasing I make mention of you

²⁷ And will not the uncircumcision by nature by keeping the Law judge you, the one who through letter and circumcision becomes transgressor of Law? ²⁸ For he is not a Jew that is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that outwardly in flesh; ²⁹ but he is a Jew that is one inwardly, and circumcision is of heart, in spirit, not in letter; of whom the praise is not from men, but from God.

⁴ Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.

¹¹ So also you count yourselves to be truly dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁴ For your sin shall not lord it over you, for you are not under law, but under grace. ¹⁵ What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Let it not be!

² And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

⁶ who also made us able ministers of a new covenant, not of letter, but of Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit makes alive.

¹⁷ So that if anyone is in Christ, that one is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new!

²³ But before the coming of faith, we were guarded under law, having been locked up to the faith being about to be revealed. ²⁴ So that the Law has become a trainer of us until Christ, that we might be justified by faith. ²⁵ But faith coming, we are no longer under a trainer;

⁴ But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, having come into being out of a woman, having come under Law, ⁵ that He might redeem the ones under law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

¹⁵ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision has any strength nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.

³ For we are the circumcision, the ones who worship by the Spirit of God, and who glory in Christ Jesus, and who do not trust in flesh.

¹⁰ and having put on the new, having been renewed in full knowledge according to the image of the One creating him,

⁶ And the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and the tree was desirable to make one wise. And she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

¹⁷ You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male slave, or his slave-girl, or his ox, or his ass, or anything which belongs to your neighbor.

²¹ You shall not lust after your neighbor's wife; nor shall you covet your neighbor's house, his field, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, his ox, nor his ass, nor anything which is your neighbor's.

²¹ When I saw among the spoil a goodly robe of Shinar, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold, one of fifty shekels in weight, then I lusted after them, and took them. And behold, they are hidden in the earth, in the middle of my tent, and the silver under it.

² And it happened at evening time, David rose up from his bed and walked up and down on the roof of the king's house. And he saw from the roof a woman bathing. And the woman was very good of form.

¹ And it happened after these things, Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard in Jezreel, near the palace of Ahab the king of Samaria. ² And Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying, Give me your vineyard, and it shall be a garden of green herbs for me, for it is near my house. And I will give to you in its place a better vineyard than it. If it is good in your eyes, I will give silver to you, the price of this one. ³ And Naboth said to Ahab, Far be it from me, by Jehovah, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you. ⁴ And Ahab came into his house sullen and angry over the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken. For he had said, I will not give the inheritance of my fathers to you. And he lay on his bed and turned away his face, and would not eat food.

⁷ The law of Jehovah is perfect, converting the soul. The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making the simple wise. ⁸ The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart; the commands of Jehovah are pure, giving light to the eyes. ⁹ The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of Jehovah are true, they are righteous altogether. ¹⁰ They are more precious than gold, even much fine gold, and sweeter than honey and drops from the honeycomb. ¹¹ Also Your servant is warned by them; in keeping of them is great reward. ¹² Who can discern errors? Acquit me from secret faults,

⁹⁶ I have seen an end to all perfection; Your command is exceedingly broad.

² And they covet and seize fields and houses, and carry them away. And they oppress a man and his household, even a man and his inheritance.

²⁸ But I say to you, Everyone looking at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

¹⁵ And He said to them, Beware, and keep back from covetousness; for one's life is not in the abundance of the things which are his.

³³ I have desired the silver, or gold, or clothing of no one.

⁵ But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who lays on wrath? I speak according to man.

¹ What then shall we say our father Abraham to have found according to flesh?

¹⁵ What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Let it not be!

¹³ Then that which is good, has it become death to me? Let it not be! But sin, that it might appear to be sin, having worked out death to me through the good, in order that sin might become excessively sinful through the commandment.

⁹ For, "Do not commit adultery," "do not murder," "do not steal," do not bear false witness, "do not lust," Ex. 20:13-15, 17 and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Lev. 19:18

³ But let not fornication, and all uncleanness, or greediness, be named among you, as is fitting for saints;

⁵ not in passion of lust, even as also the nations do, not knowing God;

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, ¹⁶ because all that which is in the world: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

²² If I had not come and had not spoken to them, they had no sin. But now they do not have excuse as to their sin.

²⁴ If I did not do the works among them which no other did, they had no sin. But now they both have seen and also have hated Me and My Father.

¹⁷ But now I no longer work it out, but the sin dwelling in me.

¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his own lusts, having been drawn out and having been seduced by them . ¹⁵ Then being conceived, lust brings forth sin. And sin being fully formed brings forth death.

¹² For evils have surrounded me until there is no number; my iniquities have taken hold on me and I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails me.

²¹ You have heard that it was said to the ancients: "Do not commit murder!" And, Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the Judgment. Ex. 20:13; Deut. 5:17 ²² But I say to you, Everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be liable to the Judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca, shall be liable to the sanhedrin; but whoever says, Fool! shall be liable to be thrown into the fire of Hell. ²³ Therefore, if you offer your gift on the altar, and remember there that your brother has something against you, ²⁴ leave your gift there before the altar, and go. First, be reconciled to your brother, and then coming, offer your gift. ²⁵ Be well intentioned toward your opponent quickly, while you are in the way with him, that the opponent not deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. ²⁶ Truly, I say to you, In no way shall you come out from there until you pay the last kodrantes.

⁴ For God commanded, saying, "Honor your father and mother," Ex. 20:12; Deut. 5:16 and, "The one speaking evil of father or mother, by death let him die." Ex. 21:17 ⁵ But you say, Whoever says to the father or the mother, A gift, whatever you would gain from me; ⁶ and in no way he honors his father or his mother. And you annulled the command of God on account of your tradition.

²⁰ The young man said to Him, All these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?

⁸ For forsaking the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men: dippings of utensils and cups, and many other such like things you do. ⁹ And He said to them, Do you do well to set aside the commandment of God so that you may keep your tradition? ¹⁰ For Moses said, "Honor your father and your mother;" Ex. 20:12; Deut. 5:16 and, "The one speaking evil of father or mother, let him expire by death." Ex. 21:17 ¹¹ But you say, If a man says to his father or mother, Corban, (which is, A gift!) whatever you may profit by me. ¹² And you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or mother, ¹³ making the Word of God of no effect by your tradition which you delivered. And many such like things you do.

²⁵ And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, testing Him and saying, Teacher, What shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? ²⁶ And He said to him, What has been written in the Law? How do you read it ? ²⁷ And answering, he said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength," and with all your mind, and "your neighbor as yourself." Deut. 6:5; Lev. 19:18 ²⁸ And He said to him, You have answered rightly; do this, and you shall live. ²⁹ But desiring to justify himself, he said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

²⁹ But answering, he said to the father, Behold, so many years I serve you, and never have I transgressed a command of you. And you never gave a goat to me, so that I might be merry with my friends.

⁹ And He also spoke this parable to some of those relying on themselves, that they are righteous, and despising the rest: ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe all things, as many as I get.

²¹ And he said, I have kept all these from my youth.

¹⁹ But we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those within the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God. ²⁰ Because by works of law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2

²¹ I find then the law, when I desire to do the right, that evil is present with me. ²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man; ²³ but I see another law in my members having warred against the law of my mind, and taking me captive by the law of sin being in my members.

⁷ because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards God; for it is not subject to the law of God, for neither can it be .

⁵ For Moses writes of the righteousness which is of the law: "The man doing these things shall live by them." Lev. 18:5

¹⁹ For through law I died to law, that I might live to God.

⁵ in circumcision, the eighth day, of the race of Israel, the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; according to Law, a Pharisee; ⁶ according to zeal, persecuting the church; according to righteousness in Law, being blameless.

¹⁰ For whoever shall keep all the law, but stumbles in one, he has become guilty of all. ¹¹ For He who said, "You shall not commit adultery," also said, "You shall not murder." Ex. 20:14, 13; Deut. 5:18, 17 But if you do not commit adultery, but commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

⁵ and you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man do, he shall live by them. I am Jehovah.

¹¹ And I gave them My statutes, and I made them know My judgments, which if a man does them, he will even live by them.

¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man does them he will even live by them. And they greatly profaned My sabbaths. Then I said, I will pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

²¹ But the sons rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My statutes, and they did not keep My judgments, to do them, which if a man does them, he shall live by them. They profaned My sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them, to fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness.

⁷ But if the ministry of death having been engraved in letters in stone was with glory, so as the sons of Israel could not gaze into "the face of Moses" because of the glory of his face, which was to cease, Ex. 34:34

¹² But the Law is not of faith, but, "The man doing these things shall live in them." Lev. 18:5 ¹³ And Jehovah God said to the woman, What is this you have done? And the woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate.

²⁰ Feeding on ashes, a deceived heart turns him aside, and he does not deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is incurable; who can know it?

¹⁶ Your fearfulness has deceived you, the pride of your heart, you who live in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill. Though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there, declares Jehovah.

³ The pride of your heart has deceived you, dwelling in the clefts of the rock; his dwelling is lofty, saying in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

²² for you have put off the old man, as regards the former behavior, having been corrupted according to the deceitful lusts,

¹³ But exhort yourselves each day, as long as it is being called today, that not any of you be hardened by the deceit of sin.

²² But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

²⁶ If anyone thinks to be religious among you, yet not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his heart, this one's religion is vain.

⁸ And who is a great nation whose statutes and judgments are as righteous as all this law which I set before you today?

¹² And now, Israel, what has Jehovah your God asked of you, except to fear Jehovah your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart, and with all your soul;

¹³ And You came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from the heavens, and gave them right judgments and true laws, good statutes and commandments.

³⁸ Make Your word sure to Your servant, who is devoted to Your fear.

⁸⁶ All Your commands are faithful; they persecute me with lying; help me!

¹²⁷ So I have loved Your commands, more than gold, even fine gold.

¹³⁷ Tzaddi. O Jehovah, You are righteous, and Your judgments right.

¹⁴⁰ Your word is pure and Your servant loves it.

¹⁷² My tongue shall answer Your word, for all Your commands are righteousness.

³¹ Then do we make law of no effect through faith? Let it not be! But we establish law.

¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual, and I am fleshly, having been sold under sin.

¹⁶ But if I do what I do not will, I agree with the law, that it is good.

⁸ And we know that the Law is good, if anyone uses it lawfully,

⁸ But sin taking occasion through the commandment worked every lust in me; for apart from law, sin is dead. ⁹ And I was alive apart from law once, but the commandment came, and sin came alive, and I died. ¹⁰ And the commandment which was to life, this was found to be death to me; ¹¹ for sin taking occasion through the commandment deceived me, and through it killed me .

³ For the law being powerless, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, condemned sin in the flesh,

²¹ Then is the Law against the promises of God? Let it not be! For if a law had been given which had been able to make alive, indeed righteousness would have been out of law.

¹³ Let no one being tempted say, I am tempted from God. For God is not tempted by evils, and He tempts no one.

²⁷ Come, let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and do not let our hand be on him. For he is our brother, our flesh. And his brothers listened.

³⁶ And the Midianites sold him into Egypt, to Potiphar, a eunuch of Pharaoh, the chief of the executioners.

¹⁵ For truly I was stolen from the land of the Hebrews; and here also I have not done anything that they should have put me into the dungeon.

² When you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve six years And in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. ³ If he comes in with his body, he shall go out with his body. If he was the husband of a wife, his wife shall go out with him. ⁴ If his master gives him a wife, and she bears sons or daughters to him, the wife and her children shall belong to her master; and he shall go out with his body. ⁵ And if the slave truly says, I love my master, my wife and my children; I do not desire to go out free, ⁶ his master shall bring him to God, and one shall bring him to the door, or to the doorpost; and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.

³ If the sun has risen on him, blood is due for him; surely he shall repay. If he has nothing, then he should be sold for his theft.

¹⁸ You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am Jehovah.

⁵ And you shall love Jehovah your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

²⁰ And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you found me, O my enemy? And he said, I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in the eyes of Jehovah.

²⁵ Surely, none has been like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in the eyes of Jehovah, whom his wife Jezebel incited.

¹⁷ and caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire and divined, and used incantations, and sold themselves to do the evil in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke Him,

⁶ Therefore, I despise myself, and I have repented on dust and ashes.

⁶ Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts; and in the hidden parts You teach me wisdom.

²⁵ Daleth. My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to Your word.

² Surely I am more brutish than anyone, and I do not have the understanding of a man.

⁵ Every word of God is tested, He is a shield to those who seek refuge in Him.

⁵ Then I said, Woe is me! For I am cut off; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live amongst a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of Hosts.

¹ So says Jehovah, Where is the scroll of your mother's divorce whom I have put away? Or who of My creditors that I have sold you to him? Behold, you were sold for your iniquities, and your mother was put away for your trespasses.

³ For so says Jehovah: You were sold for nothing, and you will not be redeemed with silver.

⁵ You meet him who rejoices and works righteousness; they recall You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we sinned. In I them is eternity, we shall be saved. ⁶ But we are all as the unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruous cloth. And we all fade as a leaf, and like the wind our iniquities take us away.

⁶ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of sandals,

Deut. 6:5 ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Lev. 19:18 ⁴⁰ On these two commandments all the Law and the Prophets hang.

⁸ And seeing, Simon Peter fell at the knees of Jesus, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.

⁶ And Jesus went with them. But He being yet not far away from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, Lord, do not trouble, for I am not worthy that You come under my roof.

For everyone exalting himself will be humbled. And the one humbling himself will be exalted.

¹⁸ For I know that in me, that is in my flesh, dwells no good. For to will is present to me, but to work out the good I do not find.

²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man; ²³ but I see another law in my members having warred against the law of my mind, and taking me captive by the law of sin being in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

¹ And, brothers, I was not able to speak to you as to spiritual ones, but as to fleshly ones, as to babes in Christ. ² I gave you milk to drink, and not food, for you were not then able, but neither now are you yet able. ³ For you are yet fleshly. For where among you is jealousy, and strife, and divisions, are you not fleshly and walk according to man?

⁸ This grace was given to me, less than the least of all the saints, to proclaim the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ among the nations,

¹² For the word of God is living, and powerfully working, and sharper than every two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of both soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge of the thoughts and intentions of the heart;

⁴⁶ When they sin against You (for there is not a man who does not sin) and You have been angry with them, and have given them up before an enemy, and they have been led away into captivity to the land of the enemy, far off or near;

⁶ For Jehovah is knowing the way of the righteous, and the way of the wicked shall perish.

¹² Who can discern errors? Acquit me from secret faults,

⁴ He plots evil on his bed; he sets himself on a way that is not good; he does not hate evil.

³ Things of iniquity, our transgressions, are mightier than I; You atone for them.

¹⁰ You who love Jehovah, hate evil. He keeps the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

³ I will set no wicked thing before my eyes; I have hated the work of those who turn aside; it shall not fasten upon me.

¹ Aleph Blessed are the upright in the way, who walk in the law of Jehovah. ² Blessed are those keeping His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart. ³ They also do not work evil; they walk in His way. ⁴ You have commanded to carefully keep Your precepts. ⁵ O that my ways were fixed to keep Your statutes! ⁶ Then I shall not be ashamed, when I look to all Your commands.

³² I will run the way of Your commands, for You shall enlarge my heart.

⁴⁰ Behold, I have longed for Your precepts; grant to me life in Your righteousness.

¹⁰⁴ By Your precepts I know; so then I hate every false way.

¹¹³ Samech. I hate the halfhearted; but I love Your law.

¹²⁸ So I count wholly right all the precepts; I have hated every false way.

¹⁶³ I hate and despise lying; but I love Your law.

¹³ The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; I hate pride and loftiness, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

⁵ The righteous hates lying, but the wicked is odious and acts shamefully.

²⁰ For there is not a just man on the earth who does good, and does not sin.

¹⁵ Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate. It may be that Jehovah the God of hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

⁷ Jehovah is good for a stronghold in the day of distress; and He knows those who trust in Him.

⁴⁸ So you bear witness and consent to the works of your fathers; for they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs.

¹⁹ For what good I desire, I do not do. But the evil I do not desire, this I do. ²⁰ But if I do what I do not desire, it is no longer I working it out, but sin dwelling in me.

⁹ Let love be without dissimulation, shrinking from evil, cleaving to the good,

²² Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Blessed is the one not condemning himself in what he approves.

¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another; lest whatever you may will, these things you do.

¹² Not that I already received or already have been perfected, but I press on, if I also may lay hold, inasmuch as I also was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. ¹³ Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold, but one thing I do, forgetting the things behind, and stretching forward to those things before, ¹⁴ I press on after the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

¹⁹ However, the foundation of God stands firm, having this seal, " The Lord knew those being His;" Num. 16:5, also, Let everyone naming the name of Christ depart from unrighteousness.

⁹ You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; because of this God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness beside Your fellows." Psa. 45:6, 7

² For we all stumble in many ways . If any one does not stumble in word, this one is a mature man, able also to bridle the whole body.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. ⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

²³ But save others with fear, snatching them out of the fire, hating even the garment having been stained from the flesh.

¹²⁷ So I have loved Your commands, more than gold, even fine gold. ¹²⁸ So I count wholly right all the precepts; I have hated every false way.

¹² So indeed the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.

²² For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man;

⁷ "Blessed are those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; ⁸ blessed the man to whom the Lord will in no way charge sin." LXX-Psa. 31:1, 2; MT-Psa. 32:1, 2

²⁰ But if I do what I do not desire, it is no longer I working it out, but sin dwelling in me.

¹² For if the eagerness is present, it is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

⁸ But, nay, rather I also count all things to be loss because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them to be trash, that I might gain Christ ⁹ and be found in Him; not having my own righteousness of Law, but through the faith of Christ, having the righteousness of God on faith,

⁵ Or do you think that vainly the Scripture says, The spirit which has dwelt in us yearns to envy? No OT passage ⁶ But He gives greater grace. Because of this it says, "God sets Himself against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones." Prov. 3:34

⁵ And Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day long.

²¹ And Jehovah smelled the soothing fragrance, and Jehovah said in His heart, I will never again curse the ground for the sake of man, because the imagination of the heart of man is evil from his youth. Yea, I will not again smite every living thing as I have done;

⁴ Who gives a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!

¹⁴ What is man that he should be clean? And he born of a woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ Behold, He puts no trust in His holy ones; yea, the heavens are not clean in His eyes. ¹⁶ How much more is filthy man loathed, who drinks iniquity like water!

⁴ How then can man be justified with God? Or how can one who is horn of a woman be pure?

⁵ Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.

⁵ O that my ways were fixed to keep Your statutes!

¹¹⁵ Depart from me, O evildoers, for I will keep my God's commands. ¹¹⁶ Uphold me by Your word, that I may live; and let me not be ashamed of my hope. ¹¹⁷ Hold me up and I will be saved; and I will always look to Your statutes.

¹⁷³ Let Your hand help me; for I have chosen Your precepts

¹⁷⁶ I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant; for I do not forget Your commandments.

⁶ But we are all as the unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruous cloth. And we all fade as a leaf, and like the wind our iniquities take us away.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, pass out the evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² thefts, greedy desires, iniquities, deceit, lustful desires, a wicked eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. ²³ All these evil things pass out from within and defile the man.

¹³ Then if you being evil know to give good gifts to your children, how much more the Father out of Heaven will give the Holy Spirit to those asking Him.

¹⁵ For what I work out, I do not know. For what I do not will, this I do. But what I hate, this I do.

¹⁹ For what good I desire, I do not do. But the evil I do not desire, this I do.

²⁵ I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then I myself with the mind truly serve the law of God, and with the flesh the law of sin.

³ For the law being powerless, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, condemned sin in the flesh, ⁴ So that the righteous demand of the law might be fulfilled in us, those not walking according to flesh, but according to Spirit. ⁵ For the ones that are according to flesh mind the things of the flesh. And the ones according to Spirit mind the things of the Spirit. ⁶ For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace; ⁷ because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards God; for it is not subject to the law of God, for neither can it be . ⁸ And those being in the flesh are not able to please God. ⁹ But you are not in flesh, but in Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, this one is not His. ¹⁰ But if Christ is in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. ¹¹ But if the Spirit of the One having raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One having raised the Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies live through the indwelling of His Spirit in you. ¹² So, then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to flesh, ¹³ for if you live according to flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the practices of the body, you will live.

¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not take thought beforehand for the lusts of the flesh.

¹ and He worked in you who were once dead in trespasses and sins, ² in which you then walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience, ³ among whom we also all conducted ourselves in times past in the lusts of our flesh, doing the things willed of the flesh and of the understandings, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as the rest. ⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, ⁵ even we being dead in sins, He made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are being saved),

¹³ for it is God who is working in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good pleasure.

¹² Not that I already received or already have been perfected, but I press on, if I also may lay hold, inasmuch as I also was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.

² for him no longer to live in the lusts of men, but to live the remaining time in the flesh in the will of God.

¹⁸ For many of the people, many from Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun had not been cleansed, but ate the passover otherwise than was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, O good Jehovah, provide atonement for ¹⁹ everyone who has prepared his heart to seek Jehovah God, the God of his fathers, yet not according to the cleansing of the sanctuary.

¹² Who can discern errors? Acquit me from secret faults, ¹³ also withhold Your servant from arrogant sins; do not let them rule over me; then I shall be upright, and shall be innocent from great transgression.

³⁷ Turn my eyes from seeing vanity; in Your way give me life.

¹³³ Fix my steps in Your word; and let no evil rule over me.

⁵ Then I said, Woe is me! For I am cut off; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live amongst a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of Hosts. ⁶ Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, snatched with tongs from the altar. ⁷ And he touched it on my mouth, and said, See, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin is covered.

¹ And he made me see Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of Jehovah, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. ² And Jehovah said to Satan, Jehovah rebuke you, Satan! And, Jehovah who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked out of the fire? ³ And Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and he stood before the Angel. ⁴ And He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And He said to him, Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with ceremonial robes.

¹ And full of the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness.

³⁴ Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone practicing sin is a slave of sin.

¹² Then do not let sin rule in your mortal body, to obey it in its lusts.

¹¹ Put on all the armor of God, for you to be able to stand against the wiles of the Devil, ¹² because we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenlies. ¹³ Because of this, take up all of the armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having worked out all things, to stand.

¹⁷ For this reason He ought by all means to become like His brothers, that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the things respecting God, in order to make propitiation for the sins of His people.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our weaknesses but One having been tried in all respects according to our likeness, apart from sin.

¹⁹ promising them freedom, though themselves being slaves of corruption; for by whom anyone has been overcome, even to this one he has been enslaved.

¹² nor have I departed from the command of His lips; I treasured the words of His mouth more than my portion.

² But his delight is only in the law of Jehovah, and he meditates in His law day and night.

⁸ The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart; the commands of Jehovah are pure, giving light to the eyes. ⁹ The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of Jehovah are true, they are righteous altogether. ¹⁰ They are more precious than gold, even much fine gold, and sweeter than honey and drops from the honeycomb.

⁸ I delight to do Your will, O My God; and Your law is within My inmost soul .

¹⁶ I will delight myself in Your statutes. I will not forget Your word.

²⁴ Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.

³⁵ Make me walk in the way of Your commands, for in it I delight.

⁴⁷ And I will delight myself in Your commandments, which I have loved. ⁴⁸ And I will lift up my hands to Your commandments that I love; and I will meditate on Your statutes.

⁷² The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver.

⁹² If Your law had not been my delight, then I had perished in my grief.

⁹⁷ Mem. Oh how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. ⁹⁸ You make me wiser than my enemies by Your commands; for they are forever mine. ⁹⁹ I have more wisdom than all my teachers; for Your testimonies are a meditation to me. ¹⁰⁰ I understand more than the aged, for I keep Your precepts. ¹⁰¹ I have kept my feet from every evil way, to keep Your word. ¹⁰² I turned not from Your judgments; for You have taught me. ¹⁰³ How sweet are Your words to my palate! More than honey to my mouth! ¹⁰⁴ By Your precepts I know; so then I hate every false way.

¹¹¹ I have inherited Your testimonies forever; for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

¹⁶⁷ My soul has kept Your testimonies, and I love them very much;

¹⁷⁴ I have longed for Your salvation, O Jehovah; and Your law is my delight.

⁷ Hear Me, knowers of righteousness, the people of My law in their heart; do not fear the reproach of man, and do not be bowed from their blasphemings.

³⁴ Jesus said to them, My food is that I should do the will of Him who sent Me, and that I may finish His work.

²⁹ but he is a Jew that is one inwardly, and circumcision is of heart, in spirit, not in letter; of whom the praise is not from men, but from God.

¹⁶ Because of this, we do not faint, but if indeed our outward man is being decayed, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

¹⁶ that He may give you, according to the riches of His glory, by His power to become mighty in the inward man through His Spirit,

⁹ Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his practices,

¹⁰ Because this is the covenant which I will covenant with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord, giving My laws into their mind, and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

⁴ but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great value before God.

⁷ Bring my soul out from prison to give thanks to Your name; the righteous shall gather around me; for You shall deal bountifully with me.

²¹ I find then the law, when I desire to do the right, that evil is present with me.

¹¹ But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness. ¹² Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and confessed the good confession before many witnesses.

²⁵ in meekness teaching those who have opposed, if perhaps God may give them repentance for a full knowledge of the truth, ²⁶ and they may awake out of the snare of the Devil, having been taken captive by him, so as to do the will of that one.

⁴ You did not yet resist unto blood, wrestling against sin.

¹¹ Beloved, I exhort you as temporary residents and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul;

²⁶ And you shall do nothing to the girl; the girl has no sin worthy of death; for as when a man rises against his neighbor and murders him, even so is this matter. ²⁷ For he found her in the field, and the betrothed girl cried out, but no one saved her.

³⁸ any prayer, any supplication that shall come from any man of all of Your people Israel, who shall each know the plague of his own heart, and shall spread his palms toward this house,

⁶ I am weary in my groaning; I shall make by bed swim in all the night; I melt my couch with my tears.

³ When I kept silence, then my bones became old, through my howling all day. ⁴ For by day and by night Your hand was heavy on me; my sap was turned into the droughts of summer. Selah.

² For Your arrows sink in me, and Your hand presses heavily on me.

⁸ I am exceedingly benumbed and crushed. I howl from the groanings of my heart. ⁹ My Lord, all my desire is before You, and my sighing is not hidden from You. ¹⁰ My heart throbs; my power forsakes me! And the light of my eyes, they also are not with me.

¹¹ And they say, God has forsaken him; pursue him and take him, for there is no one to deliver.

¹² For He shall save the needy who cries, and the poor with no helper.

³ I remember God and am troubled; I meditate and my spirit faints. Selah. ⁴ You seized the watches of my eyes; I am troubled, and I cannot speak. ⁵ I thought upon the days of old, the years of bygone ages. ⁶ I will remember my song in the night; I will speak with my own heart, and my spirit carefully searches. ⁷ Will the lord cast off forever; and will He not add to be pleased any more? ⁸ Is His mercy gone forever? Has His word failed for all generations? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious; has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah.

⁵ free among the dead, as pierced ones lying in the grave, whom You remember no more; yea by Your hand they are cut off.

¹⁴ Because he has set his love on Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set Him on high because He has known My name. ¹⁵ He shall call on Me and I will answer Him; I will be with Him in distress; I will rescue Him and honor Him.

²⁰ To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to set free the sons of death;

²⁰ My soul is breaking for the longing to Your judgments in every season.

⁸¹ Kaph. My soul is being consumed for Your salvation; I hope in Your word. ⁸² My eyes fail for Your word, saying, When will You comfort me? ⁸³ For I am like a wineskin in the smoke; I do not forget Your statutes.

¹³¹ I opened my mouth and panted; for I longed for Your commands.

¹⁴³ Distress and anguish have found me; Your commands are my delight.

¹ A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I have called You, O Jehovah. ² Lord, hear my voice, and let Your ears attend to the voice of my prayers. ³ If You will keep iniquities, O Jehovah, O Lord, who shall stand?

⁴ And Jehovah said to him, Pass through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and mark a mark on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and are mourning over all the abominations that are done in her midst.

¹⁹ He will return to show us compassion; He will trample our iniquities. Yea, You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

¹¹ Also you, by the blood of your covenant I have freed your prisoners from the pit; no water is in it. ¹² Turn to the stronghold, O prisoners of hope! Even today I declare I will return double to you.

⁴ Blessed are they who mourn! For they shall be comforted.

⁶ Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness! For they shall be filled.

¹⁸ " The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me. Because of this He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me" to heal the brokenhearted, "to preach remission to captives and new sight to the blind," to send away the ones having been crushed in deliverance,

⁶ knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be nullified, so that we no longer serve sin.

¹³ for if you live according to flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the practices of the body, you will live.

²⁶ And likewise the Spirit also joins in to help our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray as we ought, but the Spirit Himself pleads our case for us with groanings that cannot be uttered.

⁸ For, brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant as to our affliction having happened to us in Asia, that we were excessively pressed down beyond our power, so as for us even to despair of living. ⁹ But we ourselves have the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust on ourselves, but on God, the One raising the dead, ¹⁰ who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver; in whom we have hope that He will still deliver us,

⁷ And by surpassing revelations, that I not be made haughty, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan, that he might buffet me, that I not be made haughty. ⁸ Beyond this I entreated the Lord three times, that it depart from me. ⁹ And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. Therefore, I will rather gladly boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may overshadow me.

¹¹ in whom also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made by hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

¹⁸ And the Lord will deliver me from every wicked work and will save me for His heavenly kingdom; to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁴ who gave Himself on our behalf, "that He might redeem us from all iniquity" "and purify" "a people" "for His own possession," zealous of good works. Psa. 130:8; Eze. 37:23; Deut. 14:2 ¹⁵ and might set these free, as many as by fear of death were subject to slavery through all the time to live.

⁴ And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And death shall be no longer, nor mourning, nor outcry, nor pain will be any longer; for the first things passed away.

¹⁵ Let them thank Jehovah for His mercy, and His wonders to the sons of man. ¹⁶ For He has broken the gates of bronze; and He cut bars of iron in two.

¹⁶ O Jehovah, truly I am Your servant now; I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid; You have loosed my bonds. ¹⁷ I will sacrifice to You the sacrifice of thanks and will call on the name of Jehovah.

¹ And in that day you shall say, O Jehovah, I will thank You. Though You were angry with me, turn away Your anger and You shall comfort me.

⁹ to say to the prisoners, Go out! To those who are in darkness, Show yourselves! They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.

¹³ Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; break out into singing, O mountains. For Jehovah has comforted His people and will have pity on His afflicted.

²¹ And she will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

¹⁷ But thanks be to God that you were slaves of sin, but you obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine to which you were delivered.

¹⁵ For what I work out, I do not know. For what I do not will, this I do. But what I hate, this I do. ¹⁶ But if I do what I do not will, I agree with the law, that it is good. ¹⁷ But now I no longer work it out, but the sin dwelling in me. ¹⁸ For I know that in me, that is in my flesh, dwells no good. For to will is present to me, but to work out the good I do not find. ¹⁹ For what good I desire, I do not do. But the evil I do not desire, this I do. ²⁰ But if I do what I do not desire, it is no longer I working it out, but sin dwelling in me. ²¹ I find then the law, when I desire to do the right, that evil is present with me.

⁵⁷ but thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

¹⁵ But thanks be to God for His unspeakable free gift.

⁹ And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. Therefore, I will rather gladly boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may overshadow me. ¹⁰ Because of this, I am pleased in weaknesses, in insults, in dire needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for the sake of Christ. For when I may be weak, then I am powerful.

¹⁷ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another; lest whatever you may will, these things you do. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkennesses, wild parties, and things like these; of which I tell you beforehand, as I also said before, that the ones practicing such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, self-control. Against such things there is not a law. ²⁴ But the ones belonging to Christ crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

²⁰ giving thanks at all times for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, even to God the Father,

⁶ Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and by petition with thanksgivings, let your requests be made known to God;

¹⁷ And everything, whatever you do in word or in work, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father through Him.

⁵ you also as living stones are being built a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

⁹ But you are "an elect race," "a royal priesthood," "a holy nation," "a people for possession," so that "you may openly speak of the virtues" of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; LXX-Ex. 23:22; MT-Ex. 19:5, 6
