For her value is far above jewels. ¹¹ The heart of her husband trusts in her, so that he has no lack of gain. ¹² She deals good with him, and not evil, all the days of her life. ¹³ She seeks wool and flax, and she works with her palms with delight. ¹⁴ She is like the merchant ships, she brings in her food from afar. ¹⁵ She also rises while it is still night, and gives game to her household, and an order to her maidens. ¹⁶ She has examined a field, and takes it, she plants a vineyard from the fruit of her hands. ¹⁷ She has girded her loins with strength, and has made her arms strong. ¹⁸ She tastes whether her gain is good; her lamp does not go out by night. ¹⁹ She has sent forth her hands on the distaff, and her palms have held the spindle. ²⁰ She spreads out her palms to the poor, yea, she reaches out her hands to the needy. ²¹ She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet. ²² She makes herself ornamental coverings, her clothing is fine linen and purple. ²³ Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits with the elders of the land. ²⁴ She makes fine linen garments, and sells, and she delivers belts to the merchant. ²⁵ Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she shall rejoice at the day to come.

¹⁶ I heard, and my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the sound. Rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled within myself that I might rest for the day of distress; to come up against the peoples; he cuts him off.

⁷ For truly a man ought not to have the head covered, being the image and glory of God. But woman is the glory of man;
