²⁰ And as he was thinking about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord was seen by him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For that in her is fathered by the Holy Spirit.

¹¹ And the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, Jacob! And I said, Behold me.

³ And He said, I am God, the God of your fathers. Do not fear to go down into Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there.

⁶ And He said, Now hear My words, If your prophet is of Jehovah, I shall make Myself known to him in an appearance; I will speak to him in a dream.

³ And the Angel of Jehovah appeared to the woman, and said to her, Behold now, you are barren and have not borne. But you shall conceive and bear a son.

⁸ Then Manoah prayed to Jehovah, and said, O my Lord, the Man of God whom You sent, please let Him come again to us and direct us what we shall do to the boy being born. ⁹ And God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the Angel of God came again to the woman. And she was sitting in a field; and her husband Manoah was not with her.

¹³ And Elijah said to her, Do not fear, go, do according to your word, only first make me a little cake of it, and bring to me and afterward prepare for you and for your son.

¹³ In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, ¹⁴ fear and trembling met me, and made my many bones dread. ¹⁵ Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up; ¹⁶ it stood still, but I could not discern its form; an image was before my eyes; there was silence; then I heard a voice:

¹⁵ In a dream, a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men; while they slumber on the bed, ¹⁶ then He opens the ear of men and seals their instruction, ¹⁷ that He may turn man from his deed; that He might conceal pride from man.

⁸ Good and upright is Jehovah; therefore He will teach sinners in the way. ⁹ He will guide the meek in justice; and He will teach the meek His way.

¹⁹ In the multitude of my inward thoughts, Your comforts delight my soul.

¹²⁵ I am Your servant; make me consider and I will know Your testimonies.

⁸ Cause me to hear Your mercy in the morning, for I do trust in You; cause me to know the way I should walk, for I lift up my soul to You.

⁵ Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding; ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

⁵ The thoughts of the righteous are right; the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

² And the house of David was told, saying, Syria is allied with Ephraim, and his heart and the heart of his people shook, as the trees of the forest shake from the wind.

¹³ And He said, Hear now, O house of David, is it too little that you weary men, but will you also weary my God?

³ You will keep in perfect peace the mind stayed on You, for he trusts in You.

²¹ And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, this is the way, walk in it, when you go right, or when you go left.

⁷ Hear Me, knowers of righteousness, the people of My law in their heart; do not fear the reproach of man, and do not be bowed from their blasphemings.

²² Until when will you turn to and fro, O faithless daughter? For Jehovah has created a new thing in the land: a woman shall enclose a man.

²⁶ then I also will reject the seed of Jacob, and My servant David, not to take of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will bring back their captivity and have pity on them.

⁹ And Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, swore to them and to their men, saying, Do not fear to serve the Chaldeans. Live in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

²⁸ And it shall be afterward, I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.

¹⁸ And the birth of Jesus Christ was this way (for His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph) before they came together, she was discovered to be pregnant in womb by the Holy Spirit.

¹³ And they having departed, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph by a dream, saying, Rise up! Take the child and His mother with you, and flee into Egypt. And be there until I shall tell you. For Herod is about to look for the child in order to destroy Him.

¹⁹ But Herod having expired, behold, an angel of the Lord appears to Joseph by a dream in Egypt,

²² But hearing that Archelaus reigned over Judea in place of his father Herod, he feared to go there. And being warned by a dream, he departed into the parts of Galilee.

⁵ But answering, the angel said to the women, You must not fear, for I know that you seek Jesus who has been crucified.

¹⁰ And all the multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense. ¹¹ And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing on the right of the altar of incense. ¹² And seeing this, Zacharias was troubled, and fear fell on him. ¹³ But the angel said to him, Do not fear, Zacharias, because your prayer was heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear a son to you, and you shall call his name John.

¹⁹ And answering, the angel said to him, I am Gabriel, who stands before God, and I was sent to speak to you and to announce to you the good news of these things.

²⁶ And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, ²⁷ to a virgin who had been betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mariam. ²⁸ And entering, the angel said to her, Hail, one having received grace! The Lord is with you. You are blessed among women! ²⁹ And seeing this, she was disturbed at his word, and considered what kind of greeting this might be. ³⁰ And the angel said to her, Do not fear, Mariam, for you have found favor from God. ³¹ And behold! You will conceive in your womb and bear a Son, and you will call His name Jesus. ³² This One will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. ³³ And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of His kingdom there will be no end. ³⁴ But Mariam said to the angel, How will this be since I do not know a man? ³⁵ And answering, the angel said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, and for this reason that Holy One being born of you will be called Son of God. ³⁶ And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth! She also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month to her who was called barren; ³⁷ for nothing shall be impossible with God. ³⁸ And Mariam said, Behold, the slave of the Lord! May it be to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her.

⁴ And Joseph also went from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because of his being of the house and family of David,

⁸ And shepherds were in the same country living in the fields and keeping guard over their flock by night. ⁹ And, behold, an angel of the Lord came on them. And the glory of the Lord shone around them. And they feared with a great fear. ¹⁰ And the angel said to them, Do not fear. For, behold, I announce good news to you, a great joy, which will be to all people, ¹¹ because today a Savior, who is Christ the Lord, was born to you in the city of David. ¹² And this is a sign to you: You will find a babe having been wrapped, lying in the manger. ¹³ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, ¹⁴ Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth, good will among men.
