⁵ And I will come near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against those swearing to a lie; and against those who extort from the hired laborer's pay; and turning away the widow, and the fatherless, and the alien, and not fearing Me, says Jehovah of hosts.

¹¹ And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place, and they will kill me for my wife's sake.

¹⁸ And on the third day Joseph said to them, Do this and live. I fear God.

¹⁷ And the midwives feared God, and they did not do as the king of Egypt said to them. And they kept the male children alive.

²¹ And you, you shall look out men of ability out of all the people, who fear God, men of truth, haters of unjust gain. And you place these over them as rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

²¹ You shall not be violent toward an alien. You shall not oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt. ²² You shall not afflict an orphan or a widow. ²³ If you afflict him, if he at all cries to Me, I will surely hear his cry, ²⁴ and My anger shall glow, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall become widows, and your sons orphans.

¹³ You shall not extort your neighbor, nor rob; you shall not allow the wages of one hired to remain with you until morning.

⁶ And the person who turns to those having familiar spirits, and to the spiritists, to go whoring after them, I shall set my face against that person, and cut him off from the midst of his people.

¹⁰ And a man who commits adultery with a man's wife, who commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, the adulterer and the adulteress are surely to be put to death.

²⁷ And a man or woman, when there is among them a medium, or a familiar spirit, shall certainly be put to death; they shall stone them with stones; their blood is on them.

¹¹ You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.

¹⁷ You shall not commit murder. ¹⁸ And you shall not commit adultery. ¹⁹ And you shall not steal. ²⁰ And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. ²¹ You shall not lust after your neighbor's wife; nor shall you covet your neighbor's house, his field, nor his male slave, nor his female slave, his ox, nor his ass, nor anything which is your neighbor's.

¹⁴ You shall not oppress a poor and needy hired servant, of your brothers or of your aliens who are in your land, within your gates. ¹⁵ In the same day you shall give him his hire; do not let the sun go down on it. For he is poor, and has lifted up his heart on it; that he not cry against you to Jehovah, and it be sin against you.

¹⁷ You shall not pervert judgment of an alien, or of an orphan; and you shall not take a widow's garment as pledge.

¹⁹ Cursed is he who perverts the judgment of the alien, the fatherless, and widow! And all the people shall say, Amen!

¹⁵ The former governors that had been before me were too heavy on the people, and had taken bread and wine from them, besides forty shekels of silver. Yes, even their servants bore rule over the people. But I did not do this, because of the fear of God.

¹ To the chief musician; of the servant of Jehovah; of David. The oracle utters transgression to the wicked within my heart: There is no fear of God before his eyes.

³ Our God comes, and He is not silent; a fire shall devour before Him; and it shall be very stormy around Him. ⁴ He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, to judge His people. ⁵ Gather My saints together to Me, those who cut My covenant by sacrifice. ⁶ And the heavens shall declare His righteousness, for God Himself is judge. Selah. ⁷ Hear, My people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God.

⁸ My people, listen, and I will testify against you, whether you will listen to Me:

¹³ before Jehovah; for He comes; for He comes to judge the earth; He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with His faithfulness.

⁹ before Jehovah; for He comes to judge the earth; with righteousness He shall judge the world, and the peoples in uprightness.

¹³ The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; I hate pride and loftiness, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

⁶ Iniquity is covered by mercy and truth, and in the fear of Jehovah, men turn aside from evil.

²² Rob not the poor because he is poor, and oppress not the afflicted in the gate. ²³ For Jehovah will contend for their cause, and will plunder the soul of their plunderers.

¹⁰ Do not move the old landmark, and do not enter into the fields of the fatherless, ¹¹ for their Redeemer is mighty, He will contend for their cause with you.

⁹ Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know? ¹⁰ And will you then come and stand before Me in this house on which My name is called, and say, We are delivered in order to do all those detestable things.

¹³ Woe to him who builds his house without righteousness, and his upper rooms without justice. His neighbor serves without pay, and he does not give him his work; ¹⁴ who says, I will build myself a wide house and large upper rooms. And he cuts out windows for it and covers with cedar, and paints with vermilion. ¹⁵ Do you reign because you lust to excel in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well for him. ¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy, then it was well. Was this not to know Me, says Jehovah? ¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart lust for nothing but your unjust gain, and to shed innocent blood, and oppression, and to do violence.

²³ because they have committed disgraceful folly in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbor's wives, and have spoken a lying word in My name, which I have not commanded them. For I am He who knows, and a witness, says Jehovah.

⁶ Behold, the rulers of Israel, each man by his might, have been in you in order to shed blood. ⁷ In you they have despised father and mother. In your midst they have dealt with the alien by oppression. In you they oppressed the widow and the orphan. ⁸ You have despised My holy things and have profaned My sabbaths. ⁹ In you are men of slander in order to shed blood, and in you they eat on the mountains. In your midst they do unchaste acts. ¹⁰ In you he has uncovered the nakedness of the father; in you they humbled the defiled by her impurity. ¹¹ And a man has done abomination with his neighbor's wife, and a man has defiled his daughter-in-law in unchaste acts. And in you a man has humbled his sister, his father's daughter. ¹² In you they have taken bribes in order to shed blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have gained by extortion of your neighbor. And you have forgotten Me, declares the Lord Jehovah.

²⁰ So the Lord Jehovah says this to them: Behold, I, even I, will even judge between the fat lamb and the lean lamb. ²¹ Because you have thrust with side and with shoulder, and have pushed all the weak with your horns until you have scattered them to the outside. ²² I also will save My flock, and they shall no longer be for a prey. And I will judge between lamb and lamb.

² Let the peoples hear, all of them. Pay attention, O earth, and its fullness. And let the Lord Jehovah be a witness against you, the Lord from His holy temple.

³ And he said to me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth. For from now on everyone who steals shall be cut off according to it; and everyone who swears from now on shall be cut off according to it. ⁴ And I will bring it forth, says Jehovah of hosts. And it shall go into the house of the thief, and into the house of the one who swears falsely by My name. And it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall devour it, and its timber, and its stones.

¹⁴ Yet you say, On what cause ? Because Jehovah has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously; and she is your companion and your covenant wife.

¹⁷ You have wearied Jehovah with your words. Yet you say, In what have we wearied Him? When you say, Every evildoer is good in the eyes of Jehovah, and He delights in them; or, Where is the God of justice?

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in. ¹⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour the houses of widows, and pray at length as a pretext. Because of this you will receive more abundant judgment. ¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you go about the sea and the dry land to make one proselyte; and when he has become so, you make him twofold more a son of Hell than yourselves. ¹⁶ Woe to you, blind guides, who say, Whoever swears by the Holy Place, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the Holy Place is a debtor. ¹⁷ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold, or the Holy Place that sanctifies the gold? ¹⁸ And you say, Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift on it, he is a debtor. ¹⁹ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift? ²⁰ Then the one swearing by the altar swears by it, and by all things on it. ²¹ And the one swearing by the Holy Place swears by it, and by the One dwelling in it. ²² And the one swearing by Heaven swears by the throne of God, and by the One sitting on it. ²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and you have left aside the weightier matters of the Law: judgment, and mercy, and faith. It was right to do these, and not to have left those aside. ²⁴ Blind guides, straining out the gnat, but swallowing the camel! ²⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but within they are full of robbery and excess. ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and of the dish, that the outside of them may become clean also. ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened graves which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, but within are full of bones of the dead, and of all uncleanness. ²⁸ So you also indeed outwardly appear righteous to men, but within are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. ²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous. ³⁰ And you say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. ³¹ So you witness to yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets. ³² And you fill up the measure of your fathers. ³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape the judgment of Hell? ³⁴ Because of this, behold, I send to you prophets and wise ones and scribes. And some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and will persecute from city to city; ³⁵ so that should come on you all the righteous blood poured out on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah the son of Berechiah whom you murdered between the Holy Place and the altar.

⁴⁰ But answering, the other rebuked him, saying, Do you not fear God, for you are in the same judgment?

⁸ And not (as we are wrongly accused, and as some report us to say), Let us do bad things so that good things may come, the judgment of whom is just.

⁹ Or do you not know that unjust ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkennesses, wild parties, and things like these; of which I tell you beforehand, as I also said before, that the ones practicing such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

⁶ not to go beyond and to overreach his brother in the matter, because the avenger concerning all these is the Lord, even as we told you before, and solemnly testified.

³⁰ For we know Him who has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The Lord will judge His people." Deut. 32:35, 36 ³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

⁴ Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.

⁴ Behold, the wages of the workmen who have reaped your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of the ones who have reaped have entered "into the ears of the Lord of Hosts." Isa. 5:9

⁸ You also be long-suffering. Set your hearts firmly, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near. ⁹ Do not murmur against one another, brothers, that you not be condemned. Behold, the Judge stands before the door.

¹² But before all things, my brothers, do not swear, neither by the heaven, nor by the earth, nor any other oath. But let your yes be yes, and the no, no, that you may not fall under judgment.

¹⁴ And "the seventh from Adam," Enoch, also prophesied to these men, saying, Behold, "the Lord came with" myriads "of His saints," ¹⁵ "to do judgment against all, and to rebuke all" the ungodly of them concerning all their ungodly works which :they ungodly" did, "and concerning all the hard things ungodly sinners spoke against Him." I Enoch 1:9; 5:4; 60:8

⁸ But for the cowardly and unbelieving, and those having become foul, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the lying ones, their part will be in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

¹⁵ But outside are the dogs and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone loving a lie, and making it.
