¹ A Song of Ascents. Many times they have afflicted me from my youth, let Israel now say; ² they have afflicted me from my youth many times, yet they have not prevailed over me.

¹⁴ So, The Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold! The virgin will conceive and will bring forth a son; and she shall call His name Immanuel.

⁹ O peoples, suffer evil, and be broken! And listen, all from the far places of the earth; gird yourselves, and be broken. Gird yourselves and be broken! ¹⁰ Counsel a counsel, and it is frustrated; speak a word, and it shall not rise; for God is with us.

¹⁰ Do not fear, for I am with you; do not gaze about, for I am your God; I will make you strong; yea, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.

⁸ Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you, says Jehovah.

¹⁸ For, behold, today I have made you a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against her princes, against her priests, and to the people of the land. ¹⁹ And they shall fight against you; but they shall not overcome you. For I am with you to deliver you, declares Jehovah.

²⁷ I have set you up as assayer, an examiner among My people, that you may know and examine their way.

¹¹ But Jehovah is with me like a mighty, awesome one. On account of this my persecutors shall stumble and will not prevail. And they shall be greatly ashamed. For they have not acted wisely; they are an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten. ¹² But, O Jehovah of Hosts, who tries the righteous, who sees the reins and the heart, let me see Your vengeance on them; for I have revealed my cause to You.

⁹ I have made your forehead as an adamant harder than flint. Do not fear them, and do not be frightened by their faces, though they are a house of rebellion.

⁸ Then being filled of the Holy Spirit, Peter said to them, Rulers of the people and elders of Israel, ⁹ if we are being examined today on a good work of an infirm man, by what this one has been healed, ¹⁰ let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazaraean, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in this name this one stands before you whole. ¹¹ This One is the Stone counted worthless by you the builders, which has become to be the Head of the Corner; Psa. 118:22 ¹² and there is salvation in no other One, for neither is there any other name under Heaven having been given among men by which we must be saved. ¹³ But seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and having perceived that they are untaught and uneducated men, they marveled. And they recognized them, that they were with Jesus.

²⁹ And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings and give to Your slaves to speak Your Word with all boldness, ³⁰ in the extending of Your hand for healing and miracles and wonders to happen through the name of Your holy child Jesus. ³¹ And they having prayed, the place in which they were gathered was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the Word of God with boldness.

²⁹ But answering Peter and the apostles said, It is right to obey God rather than man. ³⁰ The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you seized, hanging Him on a tree. ³¹ This One God has exalted as a Ruler and Savior to His right hand, to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins. ³² And we are His witnesses of these things, and also the Holy Spirit, whom God gave to those obeying Him.

⁹ And the Lord said to Paul through a vision in the night, Do not fear, but speak, and do not keep silence; ¹⁰ because I am with you, and no one shall set on you to oppress you; because there is much people to Me in this city.

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? ³² Truly He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not freely give us all things with Him? ³³ Who will bring any charge against God's elect? God is the One justifying! ³⁴ Who is he condemning? It is Christ who has died, but rather also is raised, who also is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? ³⁶ Even as it has been written, "For Your sake we are killed all the day; we are counted as sheep of slaughter." Psa. 44:22 ³⁷ But in all these things we more than conquer through Him loving us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

¹⁶ In my first defense no one was beside me, but all deserted me. May it not be reckoned to them. ¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me and gave me power, that through me the preaching might be fulfilled, and all the nations might hear. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
