¹ And the word of Jehovah was to me, saying, ² What is it to you that you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes and the teeth of the sons are dull? ³ As I live, states the Lord Jehovah, there is not any longer occasion to you to use this proverb in Israel. ⁴ Behold, they are all My souls. As the soul of the father, also the soul of the son, they are Mine. The soul that sins, it shall die. ⁵ But a man that is righteous and does what is just and right, ⁶ who has not eaten on the mountains, and his eyes have not lifted up to the idols of the house of Israel, and has not defiled his neighbor's wife, and has not come near to a menstruating woman, ⁷ and has not oppressed a man (he returns his pledge to the debtor and has not robbed by robbery), has given his bread to the hungry, and he has covered the naked with clothing. ⁸ He has not loaned on interest, and he has not taken increase, he has kept his hand from injustice, having done true justice between man and man. ⁹ He has walked in My statutes and has kept My judgments to deal truly; he is righteous. Surely he shall live, declares the Lord Jehovah. ¹⁰ And if he fathers a violent son, who sheds blood and does to a brother any of these:, ¹¹ even if he does not do any of these himself : that also the son he has eaten on the mountains, and has defiled his neighbor's wife. ¹² He has oppressed the poor and needy; thieving, he stole; he has not returned the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, ¹³ he has loaned on interest and has taken increase; shall he also live? He shall not live. He has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be on him. ¹⁴ Now, behold, if he fathers a son who sees all his father's sins which he has done, and sees, and does not do like them; ¹⁵ he has not eaten on the mountains, and has not lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel; he has not defiled his neighbor's wife, ¹⁶ and has not oppressed a man, has not withheld the pledge, and has not robbed by robbery; he has given his bread to the hungry, and he has covered the naked with clothing, ¹⁷ has withdrawn his hand from the poor, and has not received interest and increase. He has done My judgments, has walked in My statutes. He shall not die for the iniquity of his father. He shall surely live. ¹⁸ His father, because he did extortion, robbed his brother by robbery, and did what is not good among his people, behold, even he shall die in his iniquity. ¹⁹ Yet you say, Why? Does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done justice and righteousness, he has kept all My statutes and has done them, surely he shall live. ²⁰ The soul that sins, it shall die. A son shall not bear the iniquity of the father. And a father shall not bear the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him. ²¹ But the wicked, if he will turn from all his sins which he has done, and keep all My statutes, and do justice and righteousness, surely he shall live; he shall not die. ²² All his transgressions that he has done, they shall not be mentioned to him in his righteousness which he has done; he shall live. ²³ Delighting, do I delight in the death of the wicked? declares the Lord Jehovah. Is it not that he should turn from his ways and live? ²⁴ But when the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice; according to all the abominations that the wicked do, he does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be remembered in his treason that he has betrayed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die. ²⁵ Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not fair. Hear now, O house of Israel. Is My way not fair? Are your ways not unfair? ²⁶ When a righteous one turns from his righteousness and does injustice and dies in them, he shall die for his injustice which he has done. ²⁷ And when the wicked turns from his wickedness that he has done and does justice and righteousness, he shall keep his soul alive. ²⁸ Because he considers and turns from all his transgressions that he has done, surely he shall live; he shall not die. ²⁹ But the house of Israel says, The way of the Lord is not fair. Are My ways not fair, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are not fair? ³⁰ I will judge you, each man by his ways, O house of Israel, declares the Lord Jehovah. Turn and be made to turn from all your transgressions, and iniquity shall not be a stumbling-block to you. ³¹ Cast away all your transgressions from you by which you have transgressed in them, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel? ³² For I do not have pleasure in the death of him who dies, declares the Lord Jehovah. So turn and live.

¹⁵ What do you mean that you crush My people, and grind the faces of the poor, says the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts?

⁴ And I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah; for what he did in Jerusalem.

²⁹ In those days they shall not any more say, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the teeth of the sons are dull. ³⁰ But every man will die in his iniquity. Every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth will be dull.

⁷ Our fathers have sinned, and we are not; we have borne their iniquities.

² Son of man, set your face towards the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them. ³ And say, Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: So says the Lord Jehovah to the mountains, and to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys, Behold, I, even I will bring a sword on you, and I will destroy your high places.

² And you, son of man, so says the Lord Jehovah to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come on the four corners of the land.

¹² Say now to the rebellious house, Do you not know what these mean ? But speak, Behold, the king of Babylon has come to Jerusalem, and has taken its king and its rulers, and has brought them to himself at Babylon.

³ And say to the sons of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Jehovah. So says the Lord Jehovah: Because you have said, Aha! against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was ruined, and against the house of Judah when they went into exile;

¹ And you, son of man, prophesy to Israel's mountains and say, O heights of Israel, hear the word of Jehovah. ² So says the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy has spoken against you, saying, Aha! Everlasting heights have become a possession to us. ³ So prophesy and say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Because, yea, because of the wasting and crushing of you from all around, that you might be a possession to the rest of the nations, and you were lifted on the tip of the tongue, and the whispering of the people. ⁴ Therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Jehovah: So says the Lord Jehovah to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, to the wastes of desolation, and to the forsaken cities which became a prey and a mocking to the rest of the nations all around. ⁵ So the Lord Jehovah says this: Surely I have spoken in the fire of My jealousy against the rest of the nations, and against Edom, all those of her who have given My land to themselves for a possession with all joy of heart, with scorning of soul, in order to make it open land for a prey. ⁶ So prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations.

¹¹ Then He said to me, Son of man, these bones are all the house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is perished; we are cut off to ourselves.

¹⁹ Say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions. And I will put them with him, with the stick of Judah, and I will make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand.

²⁵ And they shall dwell on the land that I have given to my servant, to Jacob, there where your fathers dwelt in it. And they shall dwell on it, they and their sons, and the sons of their sons, forever. And My Servant David shall be a ruler to them forever.

³⁶ Truly I say to you, All these things will come on this generation.

²⁰ Yes, rather, O man, who are you answering against God? Shall the thing formed say to the One forming it, Why did You make me like this? Isa. 29:16

¹⁹ Yet you say, Why? Does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done justice and righteousness, he has kept all My statutes and has done them, surely he shall live. ²⁰ The soul that sins, it shall die. A son shall not bear the iniquity of the father. And a father shall not bear the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him.

³⁰ I will judge you, each man by his ways, O house of Israel, declares the Lord Jehovah. Turn and be made to turn from all your transgressions, and iniquity shall not be a stumbling-block to you.

¹¹ Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord Jehovah, I do not have pleasure in the death of the wicked, except in the wicked turning from his way, and so to live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, O house of Israel? ¹² And you, son of man, say to the sons of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his trespass. And the evil of the evil, in the day he turns from his wickedness, he shall not fall by it. And the righteous shall not be able to live by it in the day he sins. ¹³ Though I say to the righteous, He shall surely live, yet he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, all his righteousness shall not be remembered; but he shall die for his iniquity which he has done. ¹⁴ And though I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turns from his sin and does justice and righteousness, ¹⁵ if the wicked returns the pledge, he repays the thing stolen, he walks in the statutes of life, not doing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die. ¹⁶ All his sins which he has sinned shall not be remembered to him; he has done justice and righteousness, he shall surely live. ¹⁷ Yet the sons of your people say, The way of the Lord is not fair. But they, even their way is not fair. ¹⁸ When the righteous turns from his righteousness and does iniquity, he shall even die by them. ¹⁹ But if the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does justice and righteousness, he shall live by them. ²⁰ Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not fair. I shall judge you, each man by his ways, O house of Israel.

³¹ And you will remember your evil ways and your doings that were not good, and you will despise yourselves in your own eyes for your iniquities and for your abominations. ³² Let it be known to you that I am not doing this for your sake, states the Lord Jehovah. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

¹⁹ But we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those within the Law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God.

²² And they fell on their faces, and said, O God, God of the spirits of all flesh; shall one man sin, and will You be angry with all the congregation?

¹⁶ Let Jehovah, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation

⁵ So says Jehovah God, creating the heavens and stretching them out; spreading out the earth and its offspring, giving breath to the people on it, and spirit to those walking in it.

²⁰ The soul that sins, it shall die. A son shall not bear the iniquity of the father. And a father shall not bear the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him.

¹ The burden of the word of Jehovah for Israel, says Jehovah, who stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man in his midst.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹⁰ For as many as are out of works of law, these are under a curse. For it has been written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things having been written in the book of the Law, to do them." Deut. 27:26 ¹¹ And that no one is justified by law before God is clear because, "The just shall live by faith." Hab. 2:4 ¹² But the Law is not of faith, but, "The man doing these things shall live in them." Lev. 18:5 ¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it has been written, "Cursed is everyone having been hung on a tree;" Deut. 21:23

²² But the Scripture locked up all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to the ones believing.

⁹ Furthermore, indeed we have had fathers of our flesh as correctors, and we respected them . Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits, and we shall live?

¹⁹ For I have known him, so that whatever he may command his sons and his house after him, even they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice; to the intent that Jehovah may bring on Abraham that which He has spoken of him.

² He who walks uprightly and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart. ³ He does not backbite with his tongue, nor do evil to his friend, nor lift up a reproach against his neighbor. ⁴ In his eyes, the reprobate has been despised, but he honors those who fear Jehovah: He has sworn to his hurt, and will not change it. ⁵ He has not given his silver at interest; nor has he taken a bribe against the innocent; he who does these things shall not be shaken forever.

⁴ He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to guile, and has not sworn in deceit. ⁵ He shall lift up the blessing from Jehovah, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. ⁶ This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face, O God of Jacob. Selah.

³ For Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice is to be chosen more than sacrifice.

¹⁵ Do you reign because you lust to excel in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well for him.

¹⁴ And though I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turns from his sin and does justice and righteousness,

²¹ Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven. ²² Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power? ²³ And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; "depart from Me, those working lawlessness!" Psa. 6:8 ²⁴ Then everyone who hears these words from Me, and does them, I will compare him to a wise man who built his house on the rock; ²⁵ and the rains came down, and the rivers came up, and the winds blew, and fell against that house; but it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. ²⁶ And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and who does not do them, he shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand; ²⁷ and the rain came down, and the rivers came up, and the winds blew and beat against that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

⁷ everlasting life truly to those who with patience in good work are seeking glory and honor and incorruptibility; ⁸ but to those even disobeying the truth, out of self interest, and obeying unrighteousness, will be anger and wrath, ⁹ trouble and pain on every soul of man that works out evil, both of Jew first, and of Greek. ¹⁰ But glory and honor and peace will be to everyone that works out good, both to the Jew first, and to the Greek.

²² But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ²³ Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word, and not a doer, this one is like a man studying his natural face in a mirror; ²⁴ for he studied himself, and has gone away, and immediately he forgot of what kind he was. ²⁵ But the one looking into the perfect law of liberty, and continuing in it, this one not having become a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in his doing.

¹⁴ My brothers, what is the gain if anyone says he has faith, but he does not have works? Is faith able to save him? ¹⁵ But if a brother or a sister is naked and may be lacking in daily food, ¹⁶ and any one of you say to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, but does not give them the things the body needs, what gain is it ? ¹⁷ So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself. ¹⁸ But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith out of my works. ¹⁹ You believe that God is one. You do well; even the demons believe and shudder. ²⁰ But are you willing to know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? ²¹ Was not our father Abraham justified by works offering up his son Isaac on the altar? Gen. 22:9 ²² You see that faith worked with his works; and out of the works the faith was made perfected. ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying, "And Abraham believed God, and it was counted for righteousness to him;" and he was called, Friend of God. Gen. 15:6; Isa. 41:8 ²⁴ You see, then, that a man is justified out of works, and not out of faith only. ²⁵ But in the same way Rahab the harlot was also justified out of works, having received the messengers, and sending them out by another way. ²⁶ For as the body is dead apart from the spirit, so also faith is dead apart from works.

³ And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commands.

²⁹ If you know that He is righteous, know that everyone doing righteousness has been born of Him.

⁷ Little children, let no one lead you astray; the one practicing righteousness is righteous, even as that One is righteous.

² By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments. ³ For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not heavy. ⁴ Because everything having been born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory overcoming the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is the one overcoming the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

¹⁴ Blessed are the ones doing His commands, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and by the gates they may enter into the city.

¹⁵ that you not cut a covenant with the people of the land, and they fornicate with their gods, and they call to you, and you eat from his sacrifice;

¹⁹ And you shall not draw near to uncover the nakedness of a woman in her menstrual impurity. ²⁰ And you shall not give your semen to the your neighbor's wife by lying with her, for uncleanness with her.

¹⁰ And a man who commits adultery with a man's wife, who commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, the adulterer and the adulteress are surely to be put to death.

¹⁸ And if a man lies with a menstruous woman, and has uncovered her nakedness, he has made her fountain bare; and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood; even both of them shall be cut off from the midst of their people.

² And they called the people to the sacrifices of their gods. And the people ate and bowed themselves to their gods.

¹⁹ and that you not lift up your eyes towards the heavens and shall see the sun, and the heavens, and you be drawn away and worship them, and serve them; which Jehovah your God has allotted to all the peoples under all the heavens.

²² If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman. And you shall put away the evil from Israel. ²³ If there is a girl that is a virgin, betrothed to a man, and a man finds her in the city, and lies with her, ²⁴ then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city. And you shall stone them with stones so that they die, the girl because she did not cry out, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor's wife. And you shall put away the evil from among you. ²⁵ But if a man finds a betrothed girl in the field, and the man seizes her and lies with her; then only the man that lay with her shall die. ²⁶ And you shall do nothing to the girl; the girl has no sin worthy of death; for as when a man rises against his neighbor and murders him, even so is this matter. ²⁷ For he found her in the field, and the betrothed girl cried out, but no one saved her. ²⁸ If a man finds a virgin girl, not being betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they be found; ²⁹ then the man lying with her shall give to the girl's father fifty pieces of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her. He may not put her away all his days. ³⁰ A man shall not take his father's wife, and shall not uncover his father's skirt.

¹ A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills; from where shall my help come?

¹ A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes on You, O Dweller in Heaven. ² Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters; as the eyes of a maiden to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait on Jehovah our God, until He shows grace to us.

⁸ They were like lusty, well fed stallions in the morning, everyone neighing after the wife of his neighbor. ⁹ Shall I not judge for these things, says Jehovah? And shall not My soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

¹³ And you shall know that I am Jehovah when their slain shall be in the midst of their idols all around their altars, on every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every leafy oak, (the place where they offered there a soothing aroma to all their idols).

¹¹ even if he does not do any of these himself : that also the son he has eaten on the mountains, and has defiled his neighbor's wife. ¹² He has oppressed the poor and needy; thieving, he stole; he has not returned the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols,

¹⁵ he has not eaten on the mountains, and has not lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel; he has not defiled his neighbor's wife,

⁷ Then I said to them, Let each man cast away the filthy idols of his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am Jehovah your God.

²⁴ because they had not done My judgments and had despised My statutes and had profaned My sabbaths. And their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

²⁸ When I had brought them into the land for which I lifted up My hand, to give it to them, then they saw every high hill and every leafy tree; and they offered their sacrifices there. And they have their provoking offering there. They also made their soothing aroma there and poured out their drink offerings there.

⁹ In you are men of slander in order to shed blood, and in you they eat on the mountains. In your midst they do unchaste acts. ¹⁰ In you he has uncovered the nakedness of the father; in you they humbled the defiled by her impurity. ¹¹ And a man has done abomination with his neighbor's wife, and a man has defiled his daughter-in-law in unchaste acts. And in you a man has humbled his sister, his father's daughter.

²⁵ So say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: You eat on the blood, and you lift your eyes up to your idols, and you shed blood. And shall you possess the land? ²⁶ You stand on your sword, and you each do abominations, defiling his neighbor's wife. And shall you possess the land?

²⁸ But I say to you, Everyone looking at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

⁹ Or do you not know that unjust ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, ¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And some were these things, but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

²⁰ But the things the nations sacrifice, " they sacrifice to demons, and not to God." Deut. 32:17 But I do not want you to become sharers of demons;

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, ²¹ envyings, murders, drunkennesses, wild parties, and things like these; of which I tell you beforehand, as I also said before, that the ones practicing such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

⁴ Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge fornicators and adulterers.

¹¹ And the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. ¹² And God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupted. For all flesh had corrupted its way on the earth.

²¹ You shall not be violent toward an alien. You shall not oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt. ²² You shall not afflict an orphan or a widow. ²³ If you afflict him, if he at all cries to Me, I will surely hear his cry, ²⁴ and My anger shall glow, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall become widows, and your sons orphans.

²⁶ If you indeed take the clothing of your neighbor as a pledge, you shall return it to him by the going of the sun,

⁹ And you shall not oppress an alien; and you know the life of an alien, since you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

¹⁵ You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment; you shall not respect the person of the poor, nor favor the person of the mighty; but in righteousness you shall judge your neighbor.

¹⁴ And if you sell anything to your neighbor, or buy from the hand of your neighbor, you shall not each man oppress his brother.

⁷ If there is a poor man among you, one of your brothers inside any of your gates in your land which Jehovah your God is giving to you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your needy brother. ⁸ But you shall surely open your hand to him, and shall surely lend him enough for his need in that which he lacks. ⁹ Beware that there is no evil thought in your heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release draws near; and your eye be evil against your needy brother, and you give him nothing, and he cry to Jehovah against you and it be sin to you. ¹⁰ You shall surely give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because Jehovah your God will bless you for this thing, in all your work, and in all that you put your hand to. ¹¹ For the poor will never cease from the midst of the land. On account of this I command you, saying, You shall surely open your hand to your poor and needy brother in your land.

¹² And if the man is poor, you shall not sleep with his pledge. ¹³ You shall certainly give back to him the pledge at sundown; and he shall lie down in his own clothing, and shall bless you. And it shall be righteousness to you before Jehovah your God.

¹⁷ You shall not pervert judgment of an alien, or of an orphan; and you shall not take a widow's garment as pledge.

³ Behold, I am here! Testify against me before Jehovah and before His anointed: Whose ox have I taken, and whose ass have I taken, and whom have I offended? Whom have I abused, and from whose hand have I taken a bribe that I might hide my eyes with it; and I will give back to you. ⁴ And they said, You have not oppressed us, and you have not abused us, and you have not taken from the hand of any man.

⁶ For you have taken a pledge from your brother for nothing, and you have stripped the naked of their clothing.

³ If they drive away the ass of orphans; they take the widow's ox for a pledge;

⁹ They seize the orphan from the breast, and lay a pledge on the poor.

¹³ If I despised the cause of my male slave or my slave-girl when they contended with me, ¹⁴ what then shall I do when God rises up? And when He calls me to account, what shall I answer Him? ¹⁵ Did not He who made me in the belly make him? And did not One shape us in the womb? ¹⁶ If I have withheld from the desire of the poor, or I have caused the widow's eyes to fail, ¹⁷ or have eaten my bit alone, and the orphan has not eaten it, ¹⁸ for from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, and from my mother's womb I guided her. ¹⁹ If I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or there was no covering for the needy; ²⁰ if his loins have not blessed me, and he warmed himself with the fleece of my flock; ²¹ if I have lifted up my hand against the orphan, when I watched over my help in the gate; ²² let my shoulder fall from the back, and let my arm be broken from the elbow.

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he who acts wisely toward the poor; Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.

⁴ Light rises in the darkness to the upright; he is gracious and full of pity, and of righteousness.

⁹ He has scattered; he has given to the needy; his righteousness is standing forever; his horn shall be lifted up with honor.

³¹ Do not envy the cruel man, and choose not among all his ways.

²⁴ There is one who scatters yet increases more; but a withholder of just due comes only to poverty. ²⁵ The blessed soul will be made fat; he who waters will also drink fully.

³¹ He who oppresses the poor curses his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.

²² Rob not the poor because he is poor, and oppress not the afflicted in the gate. ²³ For Jehovah will contend for their cause, and will plunder the soul of their plunderers.

⁸ He who multiplies his wealth by interest and usury, he shall gather it for him who pities the weak.

²⁷ He who gives to the poor shall not lack, but he who hides his eyes shall have plenty of curses.

¹⁷ Learn to do good, seek justice, reprove the oppressor, judge the orphan, strive for the widow.

⁷ For the vineyard of Jehovah of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the man of Judah is His delightful plant. And He waited for justice, but behold, bloodshed; for righteousness, but behold, a cry!

¹⁵ He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly; he who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands free from taking the bribe, who stops his ear from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil.

⁶ Is this not the fast I have chosen: to open bands of wickedness, to undo thongs of the yoke, and to let the oppressed ones go free; even that you pull off every yoke? ⁷ Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, that you should bring the wandering poor home? When will you see the naked and cover him; and you will not hide yourself from your flesh? ⁸ Then your light shall break as the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you. ⁹ Then you shall call, and Jehovah will answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am . If you put the yoke away from among you, the sending out of the finger, and the speaking of vanity; ¹⁰ and if you let out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom shall be as the noonday. ¹¹ And Jehovah shall always guide you, and satisfy your soul in dry places, and support your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

⁶ Their webs shall not become clothing, nor shall they cover themselves with their works. Their works are works of evil, and the act of violence is in their hands. ⁷ Their feet run to evil, and they hurry to pour out innocent blood. Thoughts of iniquity are their thoughts; wasting and ruin are in their tracks.

⁶ if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, and the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt; ⁷ then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from forever and to forever.

³ So says Jehovah, Do justice and righteousness, and deliver the one robbed from the oppressor's hand. And do not oppress the alien, the widow, or the orphan, and do not do violence nor shed innocent blood in this place.

¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy, then it was well. Was this not to know Me, says Jehovah? ¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart lust for nothing but your unjust gain, and to shed innocent blood, and oppression, and to do violence.

²³ Take the chain, for the land is full of bloody judgments, and the city is full of violence.

¹² He has oppressed the poor and needy; thieving, he stole; he has not returned the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols,

¹⁶ and has not oppressed a man, has not withheld the pledge, and has not robbed by robbery; he has given his bread to the hungry, and he has covered the naked with clothing,

¹⁸ His father, because he did extortion, robbed his brother by robbery, and did what is not good among his people, behold, even he shall die in his iniquity.

¹² In you they have taken bribes in order to shed blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have gained by extortion of your neighbor. And you have forgotten Me, declares the Lord Jehovah. ¹³ And behold! I have struck My palm against your unjust gain which you have made, and at your blood which has been in your midst.

²⁷ Her rulers in her midst are like wolves tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, in order to gain unjust gain. ²⁸ And her prophets have daubed themselves with lime, seeing empty visions, and divining lies to them, saying, So says the Lord Jehovah, when Jehovah has not spoken. ²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression and practiced robbery. And they troubled the poor and the needy, and they have oppressed the stranger without justice.

¹⁵ if the wicked returns the pledge, he repays the thing stolen, he walks in the statutes of life, not doing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

⁶ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of sandals,

⁸ And they will stretch out beside every altar, and on garments taken in pledge. And they will drink wine of those being fined in the house of God.

¹⁰ For they do not know to do right, declares Jehovah, those who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.

¹¹ So, because of your trampling on the poor, and you take tribute of grain from him. You have built houses of hewn stones, but you shall not dwell in them; you have planted desirable vineyards, but you shall not drink wine from them. ¹² For I know your many transgressions, and your many sins: afflicting the just, taking of a bribe, and turning aside the poor in the gate.

³ You who put the evil day far away, and cause the seat of violence to come near,

⁴ Hear this, you who swallow up the poor, even to make the humble of the land to cease, ⁵ saying, When will the new moon have passed, so that we may buy grain? Or the sabbath, so that we may open the wheat, making smaller the ephah, and to enlarge the shekel, and to falsify the deceitful balances, ⁶ in order to buy the helpless with silver, and the poor for a pair of sandals, and sell the chaff of the wheat?

¹ Woe to those plotting wickedness and preparing evil on their beds! In the light of the morning they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

² Those hating good and loving evil, who pull their skin off them, and their flesh from their bones;

⁹ And I will punish all those who leap on the threshold in that day, who fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.

⁹ So says Jehovah of hosts, saying, Judge true judgment, and practice kindness and pity, each man with his brother. ¹⁰ And do not oppress the widow, or the fatherless, the alien, or the poor. And do not devise evil in your heart, of a man against his brother. ¹¹ But they refused to listen, and gave a stubborn shoulder, and they made their ears heavy from hearing.

⁵ And I will come near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against those swearing to a lie; and against those who extort from the hired laborer's pay; and turning away the widow, and the fatherless, and the alien, and not fearing Me, says Jehovah of hosts.

³⁴ Then the King will say to those on His right, Come, the blessed of My Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ³⁵ For I hungered, and you gave Me food to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in; ³⁶ naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. ³⁷ Then the righteous will answer, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You; or thirsting, and gave You drink? ³⁸ And when did we see You a stranger, and took You in; or naked, and clothed You ? ³⁹ And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You? ⁴⁰ And answering, the King will say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of these, the least of My brothers, you did it to Me. ⁴¹ Then He will also say to those on His left, Go away from Me, cursed ones, into the everlasting fire having been prepared for the Devil and his angels. ⁴² For I hungered, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I thirsted, and you gave me nothing to drink; ⁴³ I was a stranger, and you did not take Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me. ⁴⁴ Then they also will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You? ⁴⁵ Then He will answer them, saying, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of these, the least, neither did you do it to Me. ⁴⁶ And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

¹¹ And answering, he said to them, The one that has two tunics, let him give to him that has not. And the one that has foods, let him do the same.

⁷ But even as you abound in everything, in faith, and in word, and in knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love in us, that you also should abound in this grace. ⁸ I do not speak according to command, but through the earnestness of others and testing the trueness of your love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that being rich, He became poor for your sake, so that you might become rich by the poverty of that One.

⁶ And this: the one sowing sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one sowing on hope of blessings will also reap on blessings. ⁷ Each one as he purposes in his heart, not out of grief or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver. Prov. 22:8 ⁸ And God is able to make all grace to abound toward you, that in everything, always having all self sufficiency, you may abound to every good work; ⁹ even as it has been written, "He scattered, he gave to the poor, his righteousness abides forever." Psa. 112:9 ¹⁰ Now He that supplies seed to the sower and bread for eating, may He supply and multiply your seed and increase the fruits of your righteousness, ¹¹ in everything you being enriched to all generosity, which works out thanksgiving to God through us. ¹² Because the ministry of this service is not only making up the things lacking of the saints, but also multiplying through many thanksgivings to God, ¹³ through the proof of this service, they glorifying God by your freely expressed submission to the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of the fellowship toward them and toward all; ¹⁴ and in their prayer for you, a longing after you, because of the overflowing grace of God on you.

¹³ For judgment will be without mercy to the one not doing mercy. And mercy rejoices over judgment. ¹⁴ My brothers, what is the gain if anyone says he has faith, but he does not have works? Is faith able to save him? ¹⁵ But if a brother or a sister is naked and may be lacking in daily food, ¹⁶ and any one of you say to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, but does not give them the things the body needs, what gain is it ? ¹⁷ So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.

¹ Come now, rich ones, weep, howling over your hardships coming on. ² Your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have rusted over, and their poison will be a testimony to you, and will eat your flesh as fire. You heaped treasure in the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wages of the workmen who have reaped your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of the ones who have reaped have entered "into the ears of the Lord of Hosts." Isa. 5:9 ⁵ You lived luxuriously on the earth, and lived in self gratification; you nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter; ⁶ you condemned; you murdered the righteous; he does not resist you.

¹⁶ By this we have known the love of God, because that One laid down His life for us; and on behalf of the brothers we ought to lay down our lives. ¹⁷ Whoever has the means of life of the world, and sees his brother having need, and shuts up his bowels from him, how does the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word, or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ And in this we shall know that we are of the truth, and shall persuade our hearts before Him,

²⁵ If you lend money to My people, the poor with you, you shall not be as a money-lender to him; you shall not put interest on him.

³⁵ You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures and weights, or in quantity.

³⁵ And when your brother has become poor, and his hand has failed with you, then you shall help him. He shall live with you as an alien and a tenant. ³⁶ You shall take no interest from him, or increase; and you shall fear your God; and the life of your brother is with you. ³⁷ You shall not give silver to him with interest, and you shall not give your food for increase.

¹⁶ And I commanded your judges at that time, saying, Hear between your brothers; and judge with righteousness between a man and his brother, and his alien. ¹⁷ You shall not respect persons in judgment; you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid because of the face of a man, for the judgment is God's; and the thing too hard for you, you shall bring near to me, and I shall hear it.

¹⁸ You shall appoint judges and officers for yourself in all your gates which Jehovah your God gives you, tribe by tribe. And they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. ¹⁹ You shall not pervert judgment. You shall not regard faces, nor shall you take a bribe; for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous. ²⁰ You shall follow perfect justice, that you may live and possess the land which Jehovah your God is giving you.

¹⁹ You shall not lend at interest to your brother; interest of silver, interest of food, interest of anything loaned at interest. ²⁰ You may lend to a stranger at interest, but you shall not lend at interest to your brother, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all that you put your hand to, in the land where you go to possess it.

²⁴ And I was blameless before Him, and I kept myself from my iniquity.

¹ And there was a great cry of the people, and of their wives, against their brothers the Jews. ² For some were saying, With our sons and our daughters, we are many. let us take up grain for them, so that we may eat and live. ³ Some also were saying, We have mortgaged our fields, and our vineyards, and our houses; let us take up grain because of the famine. ⁴ And some were saying, We have borrowed silver for the king's tax, on our fields, and our vineyards, ⁵ yet now our flesh is like the flesh of our brothers; as their sons, so are our sons; and, behold, we are bringing our sons and our daughters into bondage, to be slaves; yea, there are some of our daughters brought into bondage. And there is no power for our hand, and our fields and our vineyards are to other men. ⁶ And when I heard their cry, and these words, I was very angry. ⁷ Then my heart ruled within myself, and I contended with the nobles and the magistrates. And I said to them, You are each man lending at interest, from his brother. And I held a great assembly against them. ⁸ And I said to them, According to our ability we have redeemed our brothers, the Jews who were sold to the nations. And will you yet sell your brothers? Or shall they be sold to us? Then they were silent, and did not find a word. ⁹ Also I said, The thing you do is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies? ¹⁰ Likewise, my brothers and my servants are lending them silver and grain. I beg you, let us leave off this interest. ¹¹ I beg you, even today give back to them their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses; also the hundredth part of their silver, and of the grain, the wine, and the oil, that you have taken from them.

¹⁵ The former governors that had been before me were too heavy on the people, and had taken bread and wine from them, besides forty shekels of silver. Yes, even their servants bore rule over the people. But I did not do this, because of the fear of God.

⁷ when I went out to the gate by the city; when I prepared my seat in the street. ⁸ The young men saw me and hid themselves; the aged rose up, stood up; ⁹ the rulers held back with words, and they laid a hand on their mouth; ¹⁰ the leaders' voice was hidden; yea, their tongue clung to the roof of their mouth. ¹¹ For the ear heard, and blessed me; and the eye saw, and witnessed for me. ¹² For I delivered the poor who cried for help and the orphan who had no helper to him. ¹³ The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I made the widow's heart to sing. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness and it clothed me; my judgment was like a robe and a diadem. ¹⁵ I was eyes to the blind, and feet for the lame. ¹⁶ I was father to the poor, and the cause which I did not know, I searched out. ¹⁷ I broke the fangs of the perverse, and cast the prey out of his teeth.

⁵ He has not given his silver at interest; nor has he taken a bribe against the innocent; he who does these things shall not be shaken forever.

⁸ Open your mouth for the dumb, in the cause of all the sons of those passing away. ⁹ Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the poor and needy.

¹⁰ Woe to me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife, and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not loaned, nor have they loaned to me; yet everyone curses me.

¹⁵ Do you reign because you lust to excel in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well for him. ¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy, then it was well. Was this not to know Me, says Jehovah?

¹³ he has loaned on interest and has taken increase; shall he also live? He shall not live. He has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be on him.

¹⁷ has withdrawn his hand from the poor, and has not received interest and increase. He has done My judgments, has walked in My statutes. He shall not die for the iniquity of his father. He shall surely live.

¹² In you they have taken bribes in order to shed blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have gained by extortion of your neighbor. And you have forgotten Me, declares the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁶ These are the things that you shall do. Let each man speak the truth with his neighbor. Judge with truth and justice for peace in your gates,

⁵ and you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man do, he shall live by them. I am Jehovah.

¹ And now, Israel, listen to the statutes and to the judgments which I am teaching you to do, so that you may live and go in, and possess the land which Jehovah the God of your fathers is giving to you.

¹ And Moses called to all Israel and said to them, Hear, Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears today. And you shall learn them, and shall take heed to do them.

¹ And this is the commandment, the statute and the judgments which Jehovah your God commanded to teach you, to do them in the land to which you are crossing over, to possess it, ² that you might fear Jehovah your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you; you, and your son, and your sons' son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

¹² And now, Israel, what has Jehovah your God asked of you, except to fear Jehovah your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve Jehovah your God with all your heart, and with all your soul; ¹³ to keep the commandments of Jehovah, and His statutes which I am commanding you today, for your good.

¹ And you shall love Jehovah your God, and keep His charge, and His statutes and His judgments, and His commandments all the days.

¹³ And You came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from the heavens, and gave them right judgments and true laws, good statutes and commandments. ¹⁴ And You made Your holy sabbath known to them, and You commanded commandments, statutes, and laws, to them by the hand of Your servant Moses.

⁷ The law of Jehovah is perfect, converting the soul. The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making the simple wise. ⁸ The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart; the commands of Jehovah are pure, giving light to the eyes. ⁹ The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of Jehovah are true, they are righteous altogether. ¹⁰ They are more precious than gold, even much fine gold, and sweeter than honey and drops from the honeycomb. ¹¹ Also Your servant is warned by them; in keeping of them is great reward.

⁴⁴ And He gave to them the lands of the nations; and they inherited the labor of the peoples; ⁴⁵ so that they might observe His statutes and keep His laws. Praise Jehovah!

¹ Aleph Blessed are the upright in the way, who walk in the law of Jehovah. ² Blessed are those keeping His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart. ³ They also do not work evil; they walk in His way. ⁴ You have commanded to carefully keep Your precepts. ⁵ O that my ways were fixed to keep Your statutes! ⁶ Then I shall not be ashamed, when I look to all Your commands.

¹¹ And I gave them My statutes, and I made them know My judgments, which if a man does them, he will even live by them.

¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man does them he will even live by them. And they greatly profaned My sabbaths. Then I said, I will pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

²⁷ And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments and do them .

²⁴ And My Servant, David, shall be King over them. And there shall be one Shepherd to all of them. And they shall walk in My judgments and keep My statutes, and do them.

⁴ For so says Jehovah to the house of Israel: Seek Me, and live.

¹⁴ Seek good and not evil, that you may live; and so Jehovah the God of hosts shall be with you, as you have spoken.

²⁴ But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

⁴ Behold, the soul of him is puffed up and is not upright; but the just shall live by his faith.

⁶ And they were both righteous before God, walking blameless in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.

²⁷ And answering, he said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength," and with all your mind, and "your neighbor as yourself." Deut. 6:5; Lev. 19:18 ²⁸ And He said to him, You have answered rightly; do this, and you shall live. ²⁹ But desiring to justify himself, he said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

²¹ He that has My commandments and keeps them, it is that one who loves Me; and the one that loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and will reveal Myself to him.

¹⁶ And in this I exercise myself to have always a blameless conscience toward God and men.

¹⁷ for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; even as it has been written, "But the just shall live by" "faith." Hab. 2:4

⁵ And surely the blood of your lives I will demand. At the hand of every animal I will demand it, and at the hand of man. I will demand the life of man at the hand of every man's brother. ⁶ Whoever sheds man's blood, his blood shall be shed by man. For He made man in the image of God.

¹² He that strikes a man so that he dies, surely he shall be put to death.

² If the thief is found breaking in, and is stricken and dies, no blood shall be shed for him.

¹³ You shall not extort your neighbor, nor rob; you shall not allow the wages of one hired to remain with you until morning.

³¹ And you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer; he is punishable for death, for dying he shall die.

⁸ Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, In what have we robbed You? In the tithe and the offering! ⁹ You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the nation, all of it.

⁴⁰ Then all cried out again, saying, Not this one, but Barabbas! But Barabbas was a robber.

¹² not as Cain was of the evil one, and killed his brother. And for what did he kill him? Because his works were evil, but the things of his brother were righteous.

⁸ And the man of God said to the king, If you would give me the half of your house, I would not go in with you, nor will I eat bread, nor will I drink water in this place.

²² and turned back and ate bread and drank water in the place of which He said to you, You shall not eat bread nor drink water; your carcass shall not come to the burying place of your fathers.

⁶ who has not eaten on the mountains, and his eyes have not lifted up to the idols of the house of Israel, and has not defiled his neighbor's wife, and has not come near to a menstruating woman, ⁷ and has not oppressed a man (he returns his pledge to the debtor and has not robbed by robbery), has given his bread to the hungry, and he has covered the naked with clothing.

²⁸ But He said, No; rather, blessed are those hearing the Word of God, and keeping it.

¹⁷ If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

¹⁴ You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

⁹ And what things you learned and received and heard and saw in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

¹⁷ So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.

²² And whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments, and we do the things pleasing before Him.

²² And you shall not lie with a male as one lies with a woman; it is a perversion.

²⁶ and you, you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not do any of all these disgusting acts; neither the native nor the alien who is staying in your midst. ²⁷ For the men of the land who are before you have done all these disgusting things, and the land is defiled. ²⁸ Do not do these lest the land vomit you out for your defiling it, as it has vomited out the nation that was before you. ²⁹ For anyone who does any of these disgusting things, even the persons who are doing them, shall be cut off from the midst of their people. ³⁰ And you shall keep My charge, so as not to do any of the disgusting customs which were committed before you; and you shall not defile yourselves with them; I am Jehovah your God.

¹¹ Because Manasseh the king of Judah has done these abominations, doing more wickedly than all that the Amorites did before him, and has made Judah also to sin with his idols,

¹³ And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the Mount of Corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the idol of the Sidonians, and for Chemosh the idol of the Moabites, and for Milcom the idol of the sons of Ammon, the king defiled.

¹⁷ But your eyes and your heart lust for nothing but your unjust gain, and to shed innocent blood, and oppression, and to do violence.

⁶ And He said to me, Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations which the house of Israel is doing here, that I should be far from My sanctuary? But you turn again and you shall see greater abominations.

¹⁷ And He said to me, Son of man, have you seen? Is it nothing to the house of Judah from doing the abominations which they do here? For they have filled the land with violence and have returned to provoke Me to anger. And, behold, they are putting the branch to their nose!

⁷ He is a merchant; the scales of deceit are in his hand; he loves to oppress.

¹ Hear this word, cows of Bashan who are in the mountain of Samaria, who press down the helpless, who crush the poor, who say to their husbands, Bring in, that we may drink.

¹⁰ And do not oppress the widow, or the fatherless, the alien, or the poor. And do not devise evil in your heart, of a man against his brother.

⁶ But you dishonored the poor one. Do not the rich ones oppress you, and they drag you to judgment seats?

⁹ And any man who curses his father and his mother shall certainly be put to death; he has cursed his father and his mother; his blood shall be on him.

¹¹ And a man who lies with his father's wife, who has uncovered the nakedness of his father, both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be on them. ¹² And a man who lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have made a shameful mixture; their blood shall be on them. ¹³ And a man who lies with a male as one lies with a woman, both of them have done a detestable thing; they shall certainly be put to death; their blood shall be on them.

²⁷ And a man or woman, when there is among them a medium, or a familiar spirit, shall certainly be put to death; they shall stone them with stones; their blood is on them.

¹⁸ In My saying to the wicked, Surely you shall die; and you do not warn him, and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, he, the wicked, shall die in his iniquity. But I will require his blood at your hand.

⁸ He has not loaned on interest, and he has not taken increase, he has kept his hand from injustice, having done true justice between man and man.

²⁴ But when the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice; according to all the abominations that the wicked do, he does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be remembered in his treason that he has betrayed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them he shall die.

²⁸ Because he considers and turns from all his transgressions that he has done, surely he shall live; he shall not die.

³² For I do not have pleasure in the death of him who dies, declares the Lord Jehovah. So turn and live.

⁴ and the hearer hears the sound of the ram's horn and takes no warning, and the sword comes and takes him; his blood shall be on his own head. ⁵ He heard the sound of the ram's horn and took no warning; his blood shall be on himself. But he who took warning, he shall deliver his soul.

⁶ But they having resisted, and blaspheming, having shaken his garments, he said to them, Your blood be on your head. I am pure from it; from now on I will go to the nations.

³ In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of Jehovah and repaired them. ⁴ And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and he gathered them to the plaza on the east. ⁵ And he said to them, Hear me, O Levites, now consecrate yourselves. And consecrate the house of Jehovah, the God of your fathers, and bring out the uncleanness from the holy place. ⁶ For our fathers have acted slyly and did the evil in the eyes of Jehovah our God, and they have forsaken Him and turned their faces away from the temple of Jehovah, and have given their backs. ⁷ And they have shut the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and they have not burned incense, and have not offered burnt offering in the sanctuary to the God of Israel. ⁸ And the wrath of Jehovah is on Judah and Jerusalem, and He has given them for a trembling, for a horror, and for hissing, as you see with your eyes. ⁹ For, behold, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in exile for this. ¹⁰ Now it is in my heart to cut a covenant with Jehovah, the God of Israel, and the glow of His anger shall turn back from us. ¹¹ Now, my sons, do not be negligent, for Jehovah has chosen you to stand before His face, to serve Him and to be ministers and incense burners for Him.

²¹ Go, seek Jehovah for me and for him who is left in Israel and in Judah, as to the words of the book that has been found, for great is the wrath of Jehovah that is poured out on us, because our fathers have not kept the word of Jehovah, to do according to all that is written in this book.

⁵⁹ I mused on my ways and turned my feet to Your testimonies. ⁶⁰ I hurried and delayed not to keep Your commands.

²¹ He who fathers a fool has sorrow for it; yea, the father of a fool has no joy.

²⁴ The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice, and he who fathers a wise one shall even be glad in him.

¹⁹ And not one turns back to his heart, nor has knowledge nor discernment to say, I have burned half of it in the fire; and I also have baked bread on its coals. I have roasted flesh and have eaten it; and I have made the rest of it into an idol. Shall I bow to a product of a tree?

⁶ I listened and heard. They did not speak so. No man repented because of this evil, saying, What have I done? Everyone turned in their own courses, as a horse rushes into the battle.

¹⁴ but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them;

¹⁷ But we will certainly do whatever thing goes out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings, and our rulers, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. And we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.

¹⁰ And if he fathers a violent son, who sheds blood and does to a brother any of these:,

¹⁸ But I said to their sons in the wilderness, Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers and do not keep their judgments, and do not defile yourselves with their idols.

² And they do not say within their hearts that I remember all their evil. Now their own doings have hemmed them in. They are before My face.

⁵ And now, so says Jehovah of hosts: Set your heart on your ways!

⁷ So says Jehovah of hosts: Set your heart on your ways.

¹⁸ Now set your heart from this day and forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that Jehovah's temple was established. Set your heart:

³² And you fill up the measure of your fathers.

¹⁷ But coming to himself he said, How many servants of my father have plenty of loaves, and I am perishing with famine. ¹⁸ Rising up, I will go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I sinned against Heaven and before you, ¹⁹ and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants.

¹⁸ knowing that not with corruptible things, silver or gold, you were redeemed from your worthless way of life handed down from your fathers,

¹¹ even if he does not do any of these himself : that also the son he has eaten on the mountains, and has defiled his neighbor's wife. ¹² He has oppressed the poor and needy; thieving, he stole; he has not returned the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols, ¹³ he has loaned on interest and has taken increase; shall he also live? He shall not live. He has done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be on him.

⁷ You have not given water to the faint to drink, and you withheld food from the hungry.

¹⁹ If I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or there was no covering for the needy;

⁹ He who has a good eye, he is blessed, for he gives of his bread to the poor.

²¹ If your hater is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,

²⁰ She spreads out her palms to the poor, yea, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

¹ Send out your bread on the face of the waters, for you shall find it in many days. ² Give a share to seven, or even to eight; for you do not know what evil may be on the earth.

⁷ Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, that you should bring the wandering poor home? When will you see the naked and cover him; and you will not hide yourself from your flesh? ⁸ Then your light shall break as the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you. ⁹ Then you shall call, and Jehovah will answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am . If you put the yoke away from among you, the sending out of the finger, and the speaking of vanity; ¹⁰ and if you let out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom shall be as the noonday.

⁷ and has not oppressed a man (he returns his pledge to the debtor and has not robbed by robbery), has given his bread to the hungry, and he has covered the naked with clothing.

⁴¹ But give alms of the things which are within, and behold, all things are clean to you.

¹³ But when you make a banquet, call the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind;

⁴ You shall do My judgments and you shall keep My statutes, to walk in them; I am Jehovah your God,

²⁶ and you, you shall keep My statutes and My judgments, and shall not do any of all these disgusting acts; neither the native nor the alien who is staying in your midst.

³⁰ And you shall keep My charge, so as not to do any of the disgusting customs which were committed before you; and you shall not defile yourselves with them; I am Jehovah your God.

¹⁶ I was father to the poor, and the cause which I did not know, I searched out.

⁷ The righteous attends to the cause of the weak; the wicked does not discern knowledge.

¹⁴ A king that truly judges the weak shall have his throne established forever.

¹¹ Then you shall say to them, Because your fathers have forsaken Me, says Jehovah, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshiped them, and have forsaken Me, and have not kept My law. ¹² And you have done more evil than your fathers. For, behold, you each one walk after the stubbornness of his evil heart, without listening to Me. ¹³ And I will cast you out of this land into a land that you do not know, you nor your fathers. And there you shall serve other gods day and night, where I will not grant you favor.

¹⁹ O Jehovah, my strength and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, Our fathers have inherited only lies, vanity, and there is no profit in them.

¹⁶ He judged the cause of the poor and needy, then it was well. Was this not to know Me, says Jehovah?

²¹ But you, because you warned him, the righteous, so that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he is warned. And you have delivered your soul.

⁸ He has not loaned on interest, and he has not taken increase, he has kept his hand from injustice, having done true justice between man and man. ⁹ He has walked in My statutes and has kept My judgments to deal truly; he is righteous. Surely he shall live, declares the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁹ Yet you say, Why? Does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done justice and righteousness, he has kept all My statutes and has done them, surely he shall live. ²⁰ The soul that sins, it shall die. A son shall not bear the iniquity of the father. And a father shall not bear the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him. ²¹ But the wicked, if he will turn from all his sins which he has done, and keep all My statutes, and do justice and righteousness, surely he shall live; he shall not die.

³⁰ For this reason, say to the house of Israel, So says the Lord Jehovah: Are you being defiled in the way of your fathers? And do you go whoring after their filthy idols?

¹³ Though I say to the righteous, He shall surely live, yet he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, all his righteousness shall not be remembered; but he shall die for his iniquity which he has done.

¹⁵ if the wicked returns the pledge, he repays the thing stolen, he walks in the statutes of life, not doing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die. ¹⁶ All his sins which he has sinned shall not be remembered to him; he has done justice and righteousness, he shall surely live.

²⁷ So, O king, let my advice be pleasing to you: Even break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by pitying the poor, whether there will be duration to your prosperity.

⁷ From the days of your fathers, you have turned aside from My statutes and have not kept them . Return to Me, and I will return to you, says Jehovah of hosts. But you say, In what shall we return?

²⁷ And being filled with pity, the lord of that slave released him and forgave him the loan. ²⁸ But going out, that slave found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii. And seizing him, he choked him, saying, Pay me whatever you owe. ²⁹ Then falling down at his feet, his fellow slave begged him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay all to you. ³⁰ But he would not, but going away he threw him into prison until he pay back the amount owing. ³¹ But his fellow slaves, seeing the things happening, they were greatly grieved. And coming they reported to their lord all the things happening. ³² Then calling him near, his lord said to him, Wicked slave! I forgave you all that debt, since you begged me. ³³ Ought you not also to favor your fellow slave, as I also favored you? ³⁴ And being angry, his lord delivered him up to the tormentors until he pay back all that debt to him. ³⁵ So also My heavenly Father will do to you unless each of you from your hearts forgive his brother their trespasses.

²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous. ³⁰ And you say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. ³¹ So you witness to yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets. ³² And you fill up the measure of your fathers. ³³ Serpents! Offspring of vipers! How shall you escape the judgment of Hell?

⁸ But standing, Zaccheus said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I give to the poor. And if in anything I accused anyone falsely, I restore it fourfold.

¹¹ Woe to the wicked! For the evil, the doing of his hand will be done to him.

⁴ Behold, they are all My souls. As the soul of the father, also the soul of the son, they are Mine. The soul that sins, it shall die.

²⁶ When a righteous one turns from his righteousness and does injustice and dies in them, he shall die for his injustice which he has done.

²¹ Then Jesus said to them again, I go, and you will seek Me. And you will die in your sin. Where I go, you are not able to come.

²⁴ Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.

⁵ you shall not bow to them, and you shall not serve them; for I am Jehovah your God, a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those that hate Me;

⁹ You shall not bow yourself to them nor serve them, for I, Jehovah your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of fathers on children, and on the third, and on the fourth generation of those that hate Me,

²⁶ However, Jehovah did not turn away from the fury of His great anger with which His anger glowed against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked Him.

³ Only, at the mouth of Jehovah, this came upon Judah, to remove them from His presence for the sins of Manasseh, according to all he did, ⁴ and also the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Jehovah was not willing to forgive.

² What is it to you that you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes and the teeth of the sons are dull?

⁹ He has walked in My statutes and has kept My judgments to deal truly; he is righteous. Surely he shall live, declares the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁸ But I said to their sons in the wilderness, Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers and do not keep their judgments, and do not defile yourselves with their idols. ¹⁹ I am Jehovah your God, walk in My statutes, and keep My judgments, and do them. ²⁰ And keep My sabbaths holy, and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am Jehovah your God.

³ And you say to them, So says Jehovah of hosts: Turn to Me, says Jehovah of hosts, and I will turn to you, says Jehovah of hosts. ⁴ Do not be as your fathers, to whom the former prophets have proclaimed to them, saying, So says Jehovah of hosts: Turn now from your evil ways and your evil doings. But they did not hear or give heed to Me, says Jehovah. ⁵ Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever? ⁶ But My words and My statutes which I commanded My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your fathers? And they returned and said, As Jehovah of hosts purposes to do to us, according to our ways and according to our deeds, so He has done with us.

¹ And when a person sins, and hears the voice of swearing, and he is a witness, or has seen, or has known, if he does not reveal it, then he shall bear his iniquity.

¹⁷ And if a person sins, and he has done that which is not to be done from any one of all the commands of Jehovah, and does not know, and he is guilty, and bears his iniquity,

¹⁷ Why have you not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, for it is most holy, and He has given it to you to take away the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before Jehovah?

²² And the goat shall bear on him all their iniquities to a land cut off. And he shall send the goat away into the wilderness.

⁸ And he who eats it, he shall bear his iniquity; for he has polluted the holy thing of Jehovah, and that person shall be cut off from his people.

¹ And Jehovah said to Aaron, You, and your sons, and your father's house with you shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary. And you, and your sons with you, shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood;

¹⁶ The fathers shall not be put to death for sons, and sons are not to be put to death for fathers; they each shall be put to death for his own sin.

³² then You shall hear in Heaven, and shall act, and shall judge Your servants, to declare the wicked to be wicked, to put his way on his head, and to declare the righteous to be righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

¹³ And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him, for only this one of Jeroboam shall come to the grave because there has been found in him a good thing toward Jehovah, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.

⁶ But he did not put to death the sons of those who struck him, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses that Jehovah commanded, saying, The fathers are not to be put to death for the sons, and the sons are not to be put to death for the fathers, but each shall be put to death for his own sin.

¹⁸ And to the king of Judah who sent you to inquire of Jehovah, you shall say this to him, So says Jehovah, the God of Israel, the words that you have heard, ¹⁹ (because your heart was tender, and you have bowed before Jehovah when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against its inhabitants, to become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes, and have wept before Me;) even also I have heard, says Jehovah. ²⁰ Behold! Even so I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring on this place. And they brought back this word to the king.

²³ You shall hear from Heaven, and shall act, and shall judge Your servants, to repay the wicked, to bring his way on his own head; and to justify the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

³⁰ then You shall hear from Heaven, Your dwelling place, and shall forgive, and shall give to each according to all his ways, because You know his heart; for You, You only, have known the heart of the sons of men;

⁴ But he did not kill their sons, but did as is written in the law, in the Book of Moses, whom Jehovah commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the sons, and the sons shall not die for the fathers; but they each shall die for his own sin.

¹⁰ Say to the righteous that it is well; for they shall eat of the fruit of their doings. ¹¹ Woe to the wicked! For the evil, the doing of his hand will be done to him.

¹¹ He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul; He shall be fully satisfied. By His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify for many, and He shall bear their iniquities.

⁴ And you, lie down on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it. The number of the days that you shall lie down on it, you shall bear their iniquity.

¹⁰ And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, This you have spoken, saying, Surely our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we are rotting in them, even then shall we live?

²⁷ For the Son of man is about to come with His angels in the glory of His Father. And then "He will give reward to each according to his actions." LXX-Psa. 61:13; Pro. 24:12; MT-Psa. 62:12

⁶ He "will give to each according to his works:" LXX-Psa. 61:13; MT-Psa. 62:12 ⁷ everlasting life truly to those who with patience in good work are seeking glory and honor and incorruptibility; ⁸ but to those even disobeying the truth, out of self interest, and obeying unrighteousness, will be anger and wrath, ⁹ trouble and pain on every soul of man that works out evil, both of Jew first, and of Greek.

²⁸ so being once offered "to bear the sins of many," Christ shall appear a second time without sin to those expecting Him for salvation. Isa. 53:12

²⁴ who "Himself bore in His body our sins" onto the tree; that dying to sins, we might live to righteousness; of whom, "by His wound, you were healed.

²³ And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches will know that I am the One searching the inner parts and hearts. And I will give to each of you according to your works.

¹² And I saw the dead, the small and the great, standing before God. And books were opened. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books, according to their works.

¹² And, behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each as his work is. ¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, the First and the Last. ¹⁴ Blessed are the ones doing His commands, that their authority will be over the Tree of Life, and by the gates they may enter into the city. ¹⁵ But outside are the dogs and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone loving a lie, and making it.

⁵ because Abraham listened to My voice and heeded My charge, My commands, My statutes, and My laws.

¹² And when he was afflicted, he sought the face of Jehovah his God, and was humbled exceedingly before the face of the God of his fathers; ¹³ and prayed to Him, and He was entreated of him and heard his supplication, and returned him to Jerusalem to his kingdom; and Manasseh knew that Jehovah, He is God.

¹ Aleph Blessed are the upright in the way, who walk in the law of Jehovah.

⁸⁰ Let my heart be blameless in Your statutes, that I may not be ashamed.

¹¹² I have bowed my heart to do Your statutes always to the end.

¹³ He who covers his sins never prospers, but he who confesses and forsakes them shall have pity.

¹⁶ Wash yourselves, purify yourselves. Put away the evil of your doings from My sight; stop doing evil. ¹⁷ Learn to do good, seek justice, reprove the oppressor, judge the orphan, strive for the widow. ¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as the crimson, they shall be like wool. ¹⁹ If you are willing and hear, you shall eat the good of the land. ²⁰ But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken.

⁶ Seek Jehovah while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the vain man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

⁵ But a man that is righteous and does what is just and right,

¹⁹ Yet you say, Why? Does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done justice and righteousness, he has kept all My statutes and has done them, surely he shall live.

²⁷ And when the wicked turns from his wickedness that he has done and does justice and righteousness, he shall keep his soul alive. ²⁸ Because he considers and turns from all his transgressions that he has done, surely he shall live; he shall not die.

¹¹ Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord Jehovah, I do not have pleasure in the death of the wicked, except in the wicked turning from his way, and so to live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, O house of Israel? ¹² And you, son of man, say to the sons of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his trespass. And the evil of the evil, in the day he turns from his wickedness, he shall not fall by it. And the righteous shall not be able to live by it in the day he sins. ¹³ Though I say to the righteous, He shall surely live, yet he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, all his righteousness shall not be remembered; but he shall die for his iniquity which he has done. ¹⁴ And though I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turns from his sin and does justice and righteousness,

¹⁹ But if the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does justice and righteousness, he shall live by them.

⁴⁷ And repentance and remission of sins must be preached on His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

¹⁹ Therefore, repent, and convert, for the blotting out of your sins, so that times of refreshing may come from the face of the Lord,

¹⁸ to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, in order that they may receive remission of sins, and an inheritance among those being sanctified by faith in Me. ¹⁹ Upon this, king Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, ²⁰ but to those first in Damascus, and Jerusalem, and to all the country of Judea, and to the nations, I announced the command to repent and to turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

¹³ for if you live according to flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the practices of the body, you will live.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, ²³ meekness, self-control. Against such things there is not a law. ²⁴ But the ones belonging to Christ crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

¹³ the one who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and insolent; but I received mercy, because being ignorant I did it in unbelief. ¹⁴ But the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ But for this reason I received mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for an example to those being about to believe on Him to everlasting life.

¹¹ For the saving grace of God has appeared to all men, ¹² instructing us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly and righteously and godly in the present age, ¹³ looking for the blessed hope and appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, ¹⁴ who gave Himself on our behalf, "that He might redeem us from all iniquity" "and purify" "a people" "for His own possession," zealous of good works. Psa. 130:8; Eze. 37:23; Deut. 14:2

¹⁴ My brothers, what is the gain if anyone says he has faith, but he does not have works? Is faith able to save him?

²⁶ For as the body is dead apart from the spirit, so also faith is dead apart from works.

⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners! And purify your hearts, double minded ones! ⁹ Be distressed, and mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy into shame. ¹⁰ Be humbled before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

¹⁸ And she said to Elijah, What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to cause my iniquity to be remembered, and to put my son to death?

²⁰ Jehovah rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands, He has repaid me. ²¹ For I have kept the ways of Jehovah, and have not wickedly departed from my God. ²² For all His judgments were before me, and I did not turn away His statutes from me. ²³ For I was upright with Him, and kept myself from my guilt. ²⁴ And Jehovah has returned to me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands before His eyes.

¹¹ Also Your servant is warned by them; in keeping of them is great reward.

⁷ Do not remember the sins of my youth, or my transgressions. According to Your mercy, remember me, for Your goodness' sake, O Jehovah.

¹ A Psalm of David. A Contemplation. Blessed is he whose transgression is lifted, whose sin is covered. ² Blessed is the man to whom Jehovah does not charge iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

¹ To the chief musician, A Psalm of David when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your loving-kindness, according to the multitude of Your tender mercies; blot out my transgressions.

¹² As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

²⁵ I, even I, am He who blots out your trespasses for My sake; and I will not remember your sins.

³⁴ And they shall no longer each man teach his neighbor, and each man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah. For they shall all know Me, from the least of them even to the greatest of them, declares Jehovah. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.

²⁰ In those days, and at that time, states Jehovah, the iniquity of Israel shall not be sought for, and it is not; and the sins of Judah, and they will not be found; for I will pardon those whom I leave as a remnant.

¹⁶ All his sins which he has sinned shall not be remembered to him; he has done justice and righteousness, he shall surely live.

¹⁹ He will return to show us compassion; He will trample our iniquities. Yea, You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

⁶ He "will give to each according to his works:" LXX-Psa. 61:13; MT-Psa. 62:12 ⁷ everlasting life truly to those who with patience in good work are seeking glory and honor and incorruptibility;

¹ There is therefore now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to flesh, but according to Spirit.

⁷ Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man may sow, that he also will reap. ⁸ For the one sowing to his flesh will reap corruption of the flesh. But the one sowing to the Spirit will reap everlasting life from the Spirit.

¹² For I will be merciful to their unrighteousnesses, and I will not at all remember their sins and their lawless deeds." LXX-Jer. 38:31-34; MT-Jer. 31:31-34

³ But in these there is a remembrance of sins year by year, ⁴ for it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

⁵ But also in this very thing, bringing in all diligence, filling in your faith with virtue; and virtue with knowledge; ⁶ and knowledge with self-control; and self-control with patience; and patience with godliness; ⁷ and godliness with brotherly love; and brotherly love with love. ⁸ For these things being in you, and abounding, they will make you not idle, not unfruitful in the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ For the one in whom these things are not present is blind, being shortsighted, taking on forgetfulness of the cleansing of his sins in time past. ¹⁰ On account of this, brothers, rather be diligent to make sure of your calling and election; for doing these things, you will not ever fall into sin . ¹¹ For so will be richly furnished to you the entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

⁶ And Jehovah passed by before his face and called out: Jehovah! Jehovah God! Merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and great in goodness and truth, ⁷ keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and not leaving entirely unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on sons, and on sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

²⁷ He will observe to men and say, I have sinned, and I have perverted uprightness; and it was not equally repaid to me; ²⁸ He has redeemed my soul from passing over into the Pit, and my life shall see the light.

¹¹ Jehovah takes pleasure in those who fear Him, those who hope in His mercy.

²⁰ Is Ephraim My dear son? Or is he a delightful child? For as often as I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still. So My bowels groan for him; I will surely have pity on him, declares Jehovah.

³³ For He does not afflict from His heart, nor does He grieve the sons of man,

¹¹ Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord Jehovah, I do not have pleasure in the death of the wicked, except in the wicked turning from his way, and so to live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, O house of Israel?

⁸ How shall I give you up, Ephraim? Shall I deliver you, Israel? How shall I make you like Admah? Shall I set you as Zeboim? My heart has turned within Me; My compassions are kindled together.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, forgiving iniquity and passing by the transgression of the remnant of His possession? He does not make strong His anger forever, for He delights in grace.

⁴ What man of you having a hundred sheep, and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety nine in the deserted place and go after the lost one until he finds it? ⁵ And finding it, he puts it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And coming to the house, he calls together the friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that had been lost. ⁷ I say to you that so is joy in Heaven over one sinner repenting, than over ninety nine righteous ones who have no need of repentance.

¹⁰ I say to you, so there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner repenting.

²² But the father said to his slaves, Bring out the best robe and clothe him, and give a ring for his hand and sandals for his feet. ²³ And bring the fattened calf, slaughter and let us eat and be merry; ²⁴ for this son of mine was dead, and lived again, and was lost, and was found. And they began to be merry.

³² But to be merry and to rejoice was right, for this brother of yours was dead, and lived again; and being lost, also he was found.

⁴ who desires all men to be delivered and to come to a full knowledge of truth.

¹³ For judgment will be without mercy to the one not doing mercy. And mercy rejoices over judgment.

⁹ The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not having purposed any of us to perish, but all of us to come to repentance.

¹¹ I repent that I made Saul reign as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and he has not risen to do my words. And Samuel was angry, and he cried to Jehovah all night.

² And Joash did the right in the eyes of Jehovah all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

¹⁷ And after the death of Jehoiada, the leaders of Judah came in and bowed themselves to the king; then the king listened to them. ¹⁸ And they forsook the house of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherah poles and the idols; and there was wrath on Judah and Jerusalem because of this guilt. ¹⁹ And He sent prophets among them to bring them back to Jehovah; and they testified against them, but they did not listen. ²⁰ And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, and he stood before the people and said to them, So says God, Why do you transgress the commandments of Jehovah, and do not prosper? Because you have forsaken Jehovah, He has forsaken you. ²¹ And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones by the command of the king, in the court of the house of Jehovah. ²² And Joash the king did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada his father had done to him, and killed his son. And when he died, he said, Jehovah shall seek you out .

³ The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he ceases to act wisely, to do good. ⁴ He plots evil on his bed; he sets himself on a way that is not good; he does not hate evil.

⁵ And those who turn aside to their crooked ways, Jehovah shall lead them with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.

³² The wicked is thrust out in his wickedness, but the righteous has hope in his death.

¹⁶ The man who wanders out of the way of prudence shall rest in the congregation of departed spirits.

²⁰ And when the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die. Since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered. But I will require his blood at your hand. ²¹ But you, because you warned him, the righteous, so that the righteous should not sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he is warned. And you have delivered your soul.

¹⁰ And if he fathers a violent son, who sheds blood and does to a brother any of these:,

²² All his transgressions that he has done, they shall not be mentioned to him in his righteousness which he has done; he shall live.

²⁷ So speak to the house of Israel, son of man, and say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed Me, by trespassing a trespass against Me.

¹² And you, son of man, say to the sons of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his trespass. And the evil of the evil, in the day he turns from his wickedness, he shall not fall by it. And the righteous shall not be able to live by it in the day he sins. ¹³ Though I say to the righteous, He shall surely live, yet he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, all his righteousness shall not be remembered; but he shall die for his iniquity which he has done.

¹⁸ When the righteous turns from his righteousness and does iniquity, he shall even die by them.

⁶ and those drawing back from after Jehovah, and who have not sought Jehovah, nor asked of Him.

²² Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name do many works of power? ²³ And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; "depart from Me, those working lawlessness!" Psa. 6:8

⁴³ But when the unclean spirit goes from a man, he goes through dry places seeking rest and does not find it . ⁴⁴ Then he says, I will return to my house from which I came out. And coming, he finds it standing empty, swept and decorated. ⁴⁵ Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and entering dwells there. And the last things of that man become worse than the first. So it will be also to this evil generation.

²⁰ And that sown on the stony places is this: the one hearing the Word, and immediately receiving it with joy, ²¹ but has no root in himself, but is temporary, and tribulation, or persecution occurring because of the Word, he is at once offended.

¹³ And you will be hated by all on account of My name. But the one enduring to the end, that one will be kept safe.

⁶⁶ From this time many of His disciples went away into the things behind, and no longer walked with Him. ⁶⁷ Therefore, Jesus said to the Twelve, Do you also wish to go? ⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of everlasting life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed and have known that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. ⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Did I not choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!

²⁸ And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, ²⁹ having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, iniquity, covetousness, malice, being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, ³⁰ slanderers, God-haters, insolent, proud, braggarts, devisers of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ without discernment, perfidious, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful,

²⁰ For I fear lest somehow coming I not find you as I wish, and I be found by you such as you do not wish; lest somehow there be strifes, envyings, angers, rivalries, evil speakings, whisperings, proud thoughts, disturbances; ²¹ that in my coming again, my God may not humble me with you, and I shall mourn many of those previously sinning and not repenting over the uncleanness and fornication and lustfulness which they have practiced.

⁴ Did you suffer so much vainly, if indeed it also was vainly?

⁷ You were running well; who held you back that you do not obey the truth?

¹ But know this, that in the last days grievous times will be upon us . ² For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, braggarts, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ without natural feeling, unyielding, slanderers, without self-control, savage, haters of good, ⁴ betrayers, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, ⁵ having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.

⁴ For it is impossible for those being once enlightened, and having tasted of the heavenly gift, and becoming sharers of the Holy Spirit, ⁵ and tasting the good Word of God, and the works of power of a coming age, ⁶ then falling away, it is impossible for them again to renew to repentance, crucifying again for themselves the Son of God, and putting Him to open shame.

²⁶ For if we are willfully sinning after receiving the full knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice concerning sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and "zealous fire being about to consume the adversaries." Isa. 26:11 ²⁸ If anyone did not regard the Law of Moses, that one dies without pities on " the word of two or three witnesses." Deut. 17:6 ²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think will be thought worthy to receive, the one trampling the Son of God, and having counted common the blood of the covenant in which he was sanctified, and having insulted the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know Him who has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The Lord will judge His people." Deut. 32:35, 36 ³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

³⁸ "But the just shall live by faith;" "and if he draws back," "My soul is not pleased in him." Hab. 2:4 ³⁹ But we are not of those withdrawing to destruction, but of faith, to the preservation of the soul.

¹⁸ For speaking great swelling words of vanity, by the lusts of the flesh, by unbridled lusts, they allure those indeed escaping the ones living in error, ¹⁹ promising them freedom, though themselves being slaves of corruption; for by whom anyone has been overcome, even to this one he has been enslaved. ²⁰ For if by a full knowledge of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, they have escaped the defilements of the world, and again being entangled they have been overcome by these, then their last things have become worse than the first. ²¹ For it was better for them not to have fully known the way of righteousness, than fully knowing to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² But the word of the true proverb has happened to them: " The dog turning to his own vomit;" also, the washed sow to wallowing in mud. Prov. 26:11

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us. For if they were of us, they would have remained with us; but they left so that it might be revealed that they all are not of us.

¹⁶ If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask; and He shall give life to him, to the ones not sinning unto death. There is a sin unto death. I do not say that he should ask about that. ¹⁷ All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not unto death. ¹⁸ We know that everyone having been born of God does not sin, but the one born of God keeps himself, and the evil does not touch him.

⁸ Watch yourselves, that we may not lose the things we worked out, but that we may receive a full reward.

¹² These are sunken rocks in your love feasts, feasting together with you, feeding themselves without fear, waterless clouds being carried about by winds, fruitless autumn trees, having died twice, having been plucked up by the roots;

¹⁰ Do not at all fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil is about to throw you into prison, so that you may be tried; and you will have affliction ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹¹ Behold, I am coming quickly. Hold what you have that no one take your crown.

²⁵ Far be it from You to act in this way, to put to death the righteous with the wicked. Far be it from You. The Judge of all the earth, shall He not do right?

⁴ He is the Rock; His work is perfect. For all His ways are just, a God of faithfulness, and without evil; just and upright is He.

² And burned the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram; his wrath burned against Job, because he had justified himself rather than God.

⁵ For Job has said, I am righteous; also, God has taken away my right; ⁶ should I lie against my right? My wound is incurable, yet I am without rebellion. ⁷ What man is like Job, who drinks up derision like water; ⁸ who goes in company with those who work iniquity, and walks with wicked men? ⁹ For he has said, It is no benefit for a man when he is accepted with God. ¹⁰ So, O man of heart, listen to me; far be it from God to do wickedness; and the Almighty, to do evilly.

² Do you think this to be just, you that say, I am more just than God?

⁸ Will you also set aside My judgment; will you condemn Me so that you may be justified?

⁴ I pray, Listen, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You will make me know. ⁵ I have heard of You by hearing of the ear, but now my eye has seen You; ⁶ Therefore, I despise myself, and I have repented on dust and ashes.

⁶ And the heavens shall declare His righteousness, for God Himself is judge. Selah.

²¹ You have done these things, and I have kept silence; you thought that surely I would be like you; but I will rebuke you and set in order before your eyes.

¹⁷ Jehovah is righteous in all His ways, and kind in all His works.

¹⁷ Have you not done this to yourself by your forsaking Jehovah your God when He led you by the way? ¹⁸ And now what is for you toward the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? Or what for you toward Assyria, to drink the waters of the River? ¹⁹ Your own wickedness shall correct you, and your apostasies shall reprove you. Know, then, and see that your forsaking Jehovah your God is evil and bitter; and My fear is not in you, declares the Lord Jehovah of hosts. ²⁰ For long ago you broke your yoke and tore up your bonds. And you said, I will not transgress, when on every high hill and under every green tree you lay down like a harlot. ²¹ Yet I planted you a choice vine, wholly a true seed. How then have you turned into the degenerate shoots of an alien vine to Me? ²² Though you wash yourself with potash, and multiply soap for yourself, your iniquity is stained before Me, declares the Lord Jehovah. ²³ How can you say, I am not defiled; I have not gone after Baals? See your way in the valley; know what you have done! You are a swift camel crossing her ways;

²⁹ Why do you contend with Me? All of you, you have rebelled against Me, says Jehovah. ³⁰ In vain I have stricken your sons; they received no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion. ³¹ O generation, see the word of Jehovah. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, or a land of darkness? Why do My people say, We roam; we will come no more to You. ³² Can a virgin forget her finery, a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number. ³³ What? Do you trim your ways to seek love? For this reason you have even taught the evil women your ways. ³⁴ Also on your skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents; you did not find them breaking in, but on all these. ³⁵ Yet you say, Because I am innocent, surely His anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will judge with you, because you say, I have not sinned. ³⁶ Why do you go about so much to change your way? You also shall be ashamed of Egypt, as you were ashamed of Assyria. ³⁷ Yes, you shall go out from this place, and your hands on your head. For Jehovah has rejected those in whom you trust, and you will not prosper by them.

¹ Righteous are You, O Jehovah, when I might complain to You, yet let me speak with You of Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why are all those who deal treacherously at ease?

¹⁰ And it shall be, when you declare to this people all these words, they will say to you, Why has Jehovah pronounced all this great evil against us? Or what is our iniquity, or what our sin that we have committed against Jehovah our God?

²⁹ But the house of Israel says, The way of the Lord is not fair. Are My ways not fair, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are not fair?

¹⁷ Yet the sons of your people say, The way of the Lord is not fair. But they, even their way is not fair.

²⁰ Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not fair. I shall judge you, each man by his ways, O house of Israel.

⁵ The righteous Jehovah is in her midst; He will not act perversely. Every morning He gives His justice to the light; He does not fail, but the unjust knows no shame.

¹⁷ You have wearied Jehovah with your words. Yet you say, In what have we wearied Him? When you say, Every evildoer is good in the eyes of Jehovah, and He delights in them; or, Where is the God of justice?

¹³ Your words have been strong against Me, says Jehovah. Yet you say, What have we spoken against you? ¹⁴ You have said, It is vain to serve God. And, What profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked as mourners before Jehovah of hosts? ¹⁵ And now we are calling the arrogant blessed. Not only are the doers of wickedness built up, they also test God, and escape.

¹¹ And receiving it, they murmured against the housemaster, ¹² saying, These last have performed one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day. ¹³ But answering, he said to one of them, Friend, I am not unjust to you. Did you not agree to a denarius with me? ¹⁴ Take yours and go. But I desire to give to this last as also to you. ¹⁵ Or is it not lawful for me to do what I desire with my things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?

⁵ But according to your hardness and your impenitent heart, do you treasure up to yourself wrath in a day of wrath, and revelation of a righteous judgment of God? ⁶ He "will give to each according to his works:" LXX-Psa. 61:13; MT-Psa. 62:12

⁵ But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who lays on wrath? I speak according to man.

²⁰ Because by works of law not one of all flesh will be justified before Him, for through law is full knowledge of sin. Psa. 143:2

³ For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God.

¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow; though they are red as the crimson, they shall be like wool.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way and the vain man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

²¹ But the wicked, if he will turn from all his sins which he has done, and keep all My statutes, and do justice and righteousness, surely he shall live; he shall not die.

⁵ He heard the sound of the ram's horn and took no warning; his blood shall be on himself. But he who took warning, he shall deliver his soul.

¹³ But going, learn what this is, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice." For I did not come to call righteous ones, but sinners to repentance. Hos. 6:6

²⁸ But what do you think? A man had two children, and coming to the first he said, Child, go today; work in my vineyard. ²⁹ And answering, he said, I will not. But afterward, feeling sorry, he went. ³⁰ And coming to the second, he said the same. And answering, he said, I go, sir; but he did not leave. ³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father? They said to Him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, the tax collectors and the harlots go before you into the kingdom of God. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him. And seeing, you did not repent afterwards to believe him.

⁴⁰ And with many other words he earnestly testified and exhorted, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation.

²¹ earnestly testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ but to those first in Damascus, and Jerusalem, and to all the country of Judea, and to the nations, I announced the command to repent and to turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

¹⁶ Give attention to yourself and to the doctrine; continue in them, for doing this, you will both deliver yourself and those hearing you.

²⁹ If they were wise, they would understand this; they would consider their latter end.

³ And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, saying, If you are returning to Jehovah with all your heart, put aside the alien gods from among you, and the Ashtoreths. And prepare your heart to Jehovah, and serve Him only, and He will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. ⁴ And the sons of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served Jehovah only.

⁶ Then I shall not be ashamed, when I look to all Your commands.

⁵⁹ I mused on my ways and turned my feet to Your testimonies.

¹⁸ I have surely heard Ephraim moaning over himself, saying, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bull not broken in. Turn me, and I shall be turned; for You are Jehovah my God. ¹⁹ For after I had turned away, I repented; and after I was taught, I slapped on my thigh. I was ashamed; yea, I even blushed, because I bore the disgrace of my youth. ²⁰ Is Ephraim My dear son? Or is he a delightful child? For as often as I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still. So My bowels groan for him; I will surely have pity on him, declares Jehovah.

³ And you, son of man, prepare for yourself vessels for exile, and go into exile by day in their sight. And you shall be exiled from your place to another place in their sight. Perhaps they will see that they are a rebellious house.

¹⁴ Now, behold, if he fathers a son who sees all his father's sins which he has done, and sees, and does not do like them;

³¹ Cast away all your transgressions from you by which you have transgressed in them, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

¹² And you, son of man, say to the sons of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his trespass. And the evil of the evil, in the day he turns from his wickedness, he shall not fall by it. And the righteous shall not be able to live by it in the day he sins.

¹⁷ But coming to himself he said, How many servants of my father have plenty of loaves, and I am perishing with famine. ¹⁸ Rising up, I will go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I sinned against Heaven and before you,

⁵ Then put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication; uncleanness; passion; evil lust; and covetousness, which is idolatry; ⁶ on account of which things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience, ⁷ among whom you also walked at one time, when you were living in these. ⁸ But now, you also, put off all these things: wrath, anger, malice, evil-speaking, shameful speech out of your mouth. ⁹ Do not lie to one another, having put off the old man with his practices,

¹⁴ who gave Himself on our behalf, "that He might redeem us from all iniquity" "and purify" "a people" "for His own possession," zealous of good works. Psa. 130:8; Eze. 37:23; Deut. 14:2

¹⁰ For whoever shall keep all the law, but stumbles in one, he has become guilty of all. ¹¹ For He who said, "You shall not commit adultery," also said, "You shall not murder." Ex. 20:14, 13; Deut. 5:18, 17 But if you do not commit adultery, but commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. ¹² So speak and so do as being about to be judged by the law of liberty.

³ The foolishness of man overturns his way, and his heart rages against Jehovah.

²⁵ Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not fair. Hear now, O house of Israel. Is My way not fair? Are your ways not unfair?

¹⁷ I said in my heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every matter and for every work.

¹⁴ For God shall bring every work into judgment, with all that is hidden, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.

³ The end is now on you, and I will send My anger on you and will judge you according to your ways and will lay on you all your abominations.

⁸ I will soon pour out My fury on you and fulfill My anger on you. And I will judge you according to your ways and will put on you all your abominations. ⁹ And My eye shall not spare, and I will not have pity; I will put on you according to your ways and your abominations that are in your midst. And you shall know that I am Jehovah who strikes.

²⁷ The king shall mourn, and the ruler shall be clothed with despair. And the hands of the people of the land shall be terrified. According to their way, I will do to them, and according to their judgments, I will judge them. And they shall know that I am Jehovah.

⁶ Therefore, say to the house of Israel, So says the Lord Jehovah: turn, and be turned from your idols, and from all your abominations turn away your faces.

⁹ But you, if you warn the wicked from his way, to turn from it, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

²⁰ So the Lord Jehovah says this to them: Behold, I, even I, will even judge between the fat lamb and the lean lamb.

¹³ As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come on us. Yet we did not make our prayer before Jehovah our God that we might turn from our perversities and understand Your truth.

⁶ For this reason, you return to your God; keep mercy and judgment, and wait on your God continually.

¹² Yet even now turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning, declares Jehovah. ¹³ Yea, tear your heart, and not your robes; and turn to Jehovah your God. For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and He pities concerning the evil.

¹⁸ Then you shall again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who does not serve Him.

² and saying, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.

⁸ Therefore, bring forth fruits worthy of repentance.

³² And before Him shall be gathered all the nations; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

³ No, I say to you; but if you do not repent, you will all perish in the same way.

⁵ But according to your hardness and your impenitent heart, do you treasure up to yourself wrath in a day of wrath, and revelation of a righteous judgment of God?

¹⁰ For we all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the things done through the body, according to what he did, whether good or bad. ¹¹ Then knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, and we have been manifest to God; and I also hope to have been manifest in your consciences.

⁴ But let each one prove his work, and then he alone will have a boast in himself and not as to another. ⁵ For each one will bear his own load.

¹⁵ Then being conceived, lust brings forth sin. And sin being fully formed brings forth death.

¹⁷ And if you call on the Father, the One judging according to the work of each one without respect to persons, pass the time of your sojourning in fear,

⁵ Then remember from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works. And if not, I am coming to you quickly, and will remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

¹⁶ Repent! But if not, I will come to you quickly, and I will make war with them by the sword of My mouth.

²¹ And I gave time to her that she might repent of her fornication. And she did not repent. ²² Behold, I am throwing her into a bed, and into great affliction those committing adultery with her, unless they repent of their works. ²³ And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches will know that I am the One searching the inner parts and hearts. And I will give to each of you according to your works.

¹² And, behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each as his work is.

¹⁵ Behold, I have set before you today life and good and death and evil,

¹⁹ I call Heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore, choose life, that you may live, you and your seed,

¹⁴ depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

³⁶ But he who sins against me does violence to his own soul; all who hate me love death.

¹⁶ Wash yourselves, purify yourselves. Put away the evil of your doings from My sight; stop doing evil. ¹⁷ Learn to do good, seek justice, reprove the oppressor, judge the orphan, strive for the widow.

²² And you shall defile the covering of your carved images of silver; and the covering of your molten images of gold. You shall cast them out like a menstruous cloth; you shall say to it, Go away!

⁸ And you shall say to this people, So says Jehovah, Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.

¹⁵ For I have not sent them, says Jehovah. Yet they prophesy a lie in My name, so that I might drive you out, and that you might perish, you and the prophets who prophesy to you.

³⁹ And I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me all the days, for good to them and to their sons after them.

¹⁹ And I shall give to them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will remove the stony heart out of their flesh, and I will give them a heart of flesh,

²⁶ And I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh.

³³ Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by the fruit.

²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and of the dish, that the outside of them may become clean also.

⁴⁶ But speaking boldly, Paul and Barnabas said, It was necessary for the Word of God to be spoken first to you; but since you indeed thrust it away and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the nations.

² And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

²² for you have put off the old man, as regards the former behavior, having been corrupted according to the deceitful lusts, ²³ and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and to put on the new man, which according to God was created in righteousness and true holiness. ²⁵ Therefore, putting off the false," speak truth each with his neighbor," because we are members of one another. Zech. 8:16 ²⁶ "Be angry but do not sin;" do not let the sun go down on your wrath, LXX-Psa. 4:4; MT-Psa. 4:5 ²⁷ nor give place to the Devil. ²⁸ The one stealing, let him steal no more, but rather let him labor, working what is good with the hands, that he may have something to give to the one that has need. ²⁹ Let not any filthy word go out of your mouth, but if any is good to building up in respect to the need, that it may give grace to the ones hearing. ³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed to the day of redemption. ³¹ Let all bitterness, and anger, and wrath, and tumult, and evil speaking be put away from you, along with all evil things. ³² And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, having forgiven one another, even as also God forgave you in Christ.

²¹ On account of this, having put aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, in meekness receive the implanted Word being able to save your souls.

⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners! And purify your hearts, double minded ones!

¹⁴ as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves to your former lusts in your ignorance,

²² Having purified your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unpretended brotherly love, love one another fervently out of a pure heart,

¹ Then having laid aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil words,

² for him no longer to live in the lusts of men, but to live the remaining time in the flesh in the will of God. ³ For the time of life having passed is sufficient for us to have worked out the will of the nations, having gone on in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, parties, carousings, and unlawful idolatries; ⁴ in which they are surprised, you not running with them into the same overflow of unsavedness, blaspheming;

²³ Delighting, do I delight in the death of the wicked? declares the Lord Jehovah. Is it not that he should turn from his ways and live?
