⁵ Slaves, obey your lords according to flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as to Christ;

⁹ And the Angel of Jehovah said to her, Return to your mistress and submit yourself under her hand.

¹⁴ Now, then, fear Jehovah, and serve Him in sincerity and truth, and turn away from the gods which your fathers served Beyond the River, and in Egypt; and you serve Jehovah.

¹⁷ And I know, my God, that You try the heart and are pleased with uprightness; I, in the uprightness of my heart, have offered willingly all these things; and now I have watched with joy Your people who are present here offering willingly to You.

¹¹ Teach me Your way, O Jehovah; I will walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name.

² Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters; as the eyes of a maiden to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait on Jehovah our God, until He shows grace to us.

⁶ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says Jehovah of hosts to you, O priests who despise My name. But you say, In what have we despised Your name?

²² The lamp of the body is the eye. Then if your eye is sound, all your body is light.

²⁴ No one is able to serve two lords; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other; or he will cleave to the one, and he will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and wealth.

⁹ For I am also a man under authority, having soldiers under myself. And I say to this one, Go; and he goes; and to another, Come; and he comes; and to my slave, Do this; and he does it .

⁴⁶ And continuing steadfastly with one mind day by day in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they shared food in gladness and simplicity of heart,

⁷ And when the angel speaking to Cornelius went away, calling two of his servants and a devout soldier of those continually waiting on him, ⁸ and having explained all things to them, he sent them to Joppa.

³ And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

²² For the one called a slave in the Lord is a freed man of the Lord. And likewise, the one called a free man is a slave of Christ.

¹² For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we had our conduct in the world in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.

¹⁵ And his tender feelings are abundant toward you, remembering the obedience of all of you, as you received him with fear and trembling.

² For I am jealous over you with a jealousy of God. For I have promised you to one Man, to present you a pure virgin to Christ. ³ But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your thoughts should be corrupted from the purity which is due to Christ.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, to the saints being in Ephesus and faithful in Christ Jesus: ² Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ³ Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies with Christ, ⁴ according as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, for us to be holy and without blemish before Him in love, ⁵ predestinating us to adoption through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, ⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace in which He favored us in the One having been loved, ⁷ in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace ⁸ which He caused to abound toward us in all wisdom and understanding, ⁹ making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, ¹⁰ for the administration of the fullness of the times to head up all things in Christ, both the things in the heavens, and the things on earth, in Him, ¹¹ in whom we also have been chosen to an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of the One working all things according to the counsel of His own will, ¹² for us to be to the praise of His glory, the ones who had previously trusted in Christ; ¹³ in whom also you, hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also believing you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, ¹⁴ who is an earnest of our inheritance, to the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. ¹⁵ Because of this, hearing of your faith in the Lord Jesus and love toward all the saints, ¹⁶ I also do not cease giving thanks on your behalf, making mention of you in my prayers, ¹⁷ that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of Him, ¹⁸ the eyes of your mind having been enlightened, for you to know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹ and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us, the ones believing according to the working of His mighty strength ²⁰ which He worked in Christ in raising Him from the dead; yea, He seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies, Psa. 110:1 ²¹ far above all principality, and authority, and power, and lordship, and every name being named, not only in this age, but also in the coming age; ²² and He "put all things under His feet" and gave Him to be Head over all things to the church, Psa. 8:6 ²³ which is His body: the fullness of Him filling all things in all;

²² Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord,

²⁴ Grace be with all those that love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruptibility. Amen.

¹² So, then, my beloved, even as you always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, cultivate your salvation with fear and trembling,

¹⁷ And everything, whatever you do in word or in work, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father through Him. ¹⁸ Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as is becoming in the Lord. ¹⁹ Husbands, love the wives and do not be bitter against them. ²⁰ Children, obey the parents in all things, for this is pleasing to the Lord. ²¹ Fathers, do not provoke your children, that they may not be disheartened. ²² Slaves, obey the lords according to flesh in all respects, not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God. ²³ And whatever you may do, work from the soul as to the Lord and not to men, ²⁴ knowing that from the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.

¹ Let as many as are slaves under a yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name and teaching of God may not be blasphemed. ² And those having believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brothers, but rather let them serve as slaves, because they are believing and beloved ones, those receiving of the good service in return. Teach and exhort these things. ³ If anyone teaches differently, and does not consent to sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ and the doctrine according to godliness,

⁹ Let slaves be subject to their own masters, well-pleasing in all things, not speaking against them, ¹⁰ not stealing, but showing all good faith, that they may adorn the doctrine of our Savior God in all things.

¹⁶ no longer as a slave, but beyond a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, and how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.

¹⁸ Servants, be obedient to your masters in all fear, not only to those good and forbearing, but also to the perverse ones . ¹⁹ For this is a grace, if because of conscience toward God anyone bears grief, suffering unjustly. ²⁰ For what glory is it if you patiently endure while sinning and being buffeted? But if you are suffering while doing good, and patiently endure, this is a grace from God. ²¹ For you were called to this, for even Christ suffered on our behalf, leaving behind an example for us, that you should follow His steps;

² observing your pure behavior in fear.
