³⁰ But when this son of yours came, the one devouring your living with harlots, you killed the fattened calf for him.

⁹ And He also spoke this parable to some of those relying on themselves, that they are righteous, and despising the rest: ¹⁰ Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax collector. ¹¹ The Pharisee was standing, praying these things to himself: God, I thank You that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe all things, as many as I get.

²⁴ Five times I received forty stripes minus one from the Jews. ²⁵ I was flogged three times; I was stoned once; I was shipwrecked three times; I have spent a night and a day in the deep.

² For if a gold-fingered man in splendid clothing comes into your synagogue, and a poor one in shabby clothing also comes in; ³ and you look on the one wearing the splendid clothing, and say to him, You sit here comfortably; and to the poor one you say, You stand there, or, Sit here under my footstool;
