And you have praised the gods of silver, and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see, nor hear, and do not know. And you have not glorified the God in whose hand your life breath and all your ways is .

⁷ And Jehovah God formed the man out of dust from the ground, and blew into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

¹⁹ And he blessed him and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of Heaven and earth;

²³ And the Philistine rulers gathered to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon, and to exult. And they said, Our god has given our enemy Samson into our hand.

And they said, Let the ark of the God of Israel go around to Gath. And they brought around the ark of the God of Israel. ⁹ And it happened after they had brought it around, the hand of Jehovah was against the city with a very great destruction. And He struck the men of the city, from the least to the greatest; and hemorrhoids broke forth in them.

¹⁰ You have certainly stricken Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Glory in it and stay in your house; and why should you stir yourself up to evil so that you may fall, you and Judah with you?

¹⁰ In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all flesh, even of man?

⁴ Does He not see my ways and count all my steps?

¹⁴ If He sets His heart on him, if He gathers his spirit and his breath to Himself, ¹⁵ all flesh shall perish together, and man shall return to dust.

²⁹ You hide Your face, and they are troubled; You gather their breath, and they expire and return to their dust.

⁴ Their idols are silver and gold, the work of man's hands; ⁵ they have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see; ⁶ they have ears, but they do not hear; they have a nose, but they do not smell; ⁷ their hands do not feel; their feet do not walk; they do not mutter through their throat. ⁸ The ones who make them are like them, and everyone trusting in them.

¹⁶ The heavens; the heavens are Jehovah's, but He has given the earth to the sons of men.

¹⁵ The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands; ¹⁶ they have mouths, but they say nothing; they have eyes, but they see nothing; ¹⁷ they have ears, but they hear nothing; yea, there is no breath in their mouths.

³ You sift my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.

⁴ His breath will go out, he returns to the earth; his thoughts perish in that day.

²⁴ The steps of a man are from Jehovah, and what can man discern of his way?

¹² For the day of Jehovah of Hosts shall be on all the proud and lofty ones, and on all that is lifted up; and it will be abased;

¹⁰ Now I will rise up, says Jehovah. Now I will be exalted; now I will be lifted up.

¹⁹ and have given their gods into the fire (for they were not gods, only the work of men's hands, wood and stone; so they have destroyed them).

²³ Whom have you mocked and reviled? And against whom have you lifted your voice, and lifted your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel!

⁵ So says Jehovah God, creating the heavens and stretching them out; spreading out the earth and its offspring, giving breath to the people on it, and spirit to those walking in it.

⁶ Those who lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver on the measuring rod; they hire a refiner and he makes it a god. They fall down; yea, they worship. ⁷ They carry it on the shoulder; they bear it and set it in its place, and it stands; it shall not move from its place. Yes, he cries to it, but it does not answer, it does not save him from his distress.

²³ O Jehovah, I know that his way does not belong to man; it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

²⁹ Make the archers hear against Babylon. All you who tread a bow camp against it all around. Let none of them escape. Repay her according to her work, according to all that she has done, do to her. For she has been proud against Jehovah, against the Holy One of Israel.

² Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, So says the Lord Jehovah, Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, in the heart of the seas; yet you are a man, and not God, though you give your heart as the heart of gods.

⁵ By your great wisdom, by your trade you have multiplied your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches.

¹⁷ Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. I have cast you to the ground. I will put you before kings, that they may see you.

¹⁰ So the Lord Jehovah says this: Because you were exalted in height, and he has set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height,

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and honor the King of Heaven, for all His works are truth, and His ways are justice. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.

⁴ Behold, the soul of him is puffed up and is not upright; but the just shall live by his faith.

¹⁸ What does an image profit, for its maker has carved it; a molten image, and a teacher of falsehood? For does the maker trust in his work on it, to make mute idols? ¹⁹ Woe to him who says to the wood, Awake! To a mute stone, Rise up, it shall teach! Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, but no breath is in its midst.

²⁵ nor is served by hands of men, as having need of anything. For He is giving life and breath and all things to all.

²⁸ For in Him we live and move and exist, as also some of the poets among you have said, For we are also His offspring. ²⁹ Then being offspring of God, we ought not to suppose that the Godhead is like gold or silver or stone, engraved by art and the imagination of man.

²¹ Because knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful. But they became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened. ²² Professing to be wise, they became foolish ²³ and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into a likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things.

⁴ Then concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God except one.

⁶ He should not be a novice, lest being puffed up he may fall into the Devil's judgment.

¹³ and there is no creature unrevealed before Him; but all things are naked and laid open to His eyes, with whom is our account.

⁵ And a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies was given to it. And authority to act forty two months was given to it. ⁶ And it opened its mouth in blasphemy toward God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, and those tabernacling in Heaven.
