¹¹ Let such a one think this, that such as we are in word through letters, being absent, such we are also being present in deed.

¹⁹ But if the Lord wills, I will come to you shortly. And I will not know the word of those who have been puffed up, but the power. ²⁰ For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

²⁰ For I fear lest somehow coming I not find you as I wish, and I be found by you such as you do not wish; lest somehow there be strifes, envyings, angers, rivalries, evil speakings, whisperings, proud thoughts, disturbances;

² I said before, and I say beforehand, as being present the second time and being absent now. I write to those previously sinning, and all the rest, that if I come again I will not spare; ³ since you seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, who is not weak toward you, but is powerful in you,

¹⁰ Because of this, I write these things while absent, that being present I may not deal sharply with you according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for pulling down.
