¹⁴ as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves to your former lusts in your ignorance,

³⁰ Truly, then, God overlooking the times of ignorance, now strictly commands all men everywhere to repent,

⁴ Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.

² And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is the good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

² in which you then walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience,

¹⁸ having been darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance which is in them because of the hardness of their heart, ¹⁹ who, having cast off all feeling, gave themselves up to lust, for the working of all uncleanness with greediness. ²⁰ But you have not so learned Christ, ²¹ if indeed you heard Him and were taught in Him, as the truth is in Jesus. ²² for you have put off the old man, as regards the former behavior, having been corrupted according to the deceitful lusts,

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for through these the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience.

⁵ Then put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication; uncleanness; passion; evil lust; and covetousness, which is idolatry; ⁶ on account of which things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience, ⁷ among whom you also walked at one time, when you were living in these.

⁵ not in passion of lust, even as also the nations do, not knowing God;

³ For we also once were senseless, disobedient, led astray, slaving for various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, ⁵ not by works in righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

² for him no longer to live in the lusts of men, but to live the remaining time in the flesh in the will of God. ³ For the time of life having passed is sufficient for us to have worked out the will of the nations, having gone on in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, parties, carousings, and unlawful idolatries;
