¹³ The king's daughter is all glorious within;* her garment is of gold embroidered cloth.

³ Glorious things are spoken about* you, O city of God. Selah

⁸ If you do not know, O fairest among women, follow _⌊the tracks_⌋* of the flock, and pasture your little lambs* beside the tents of the shepherds.

¹ Where has your beloved gone, O most beautiful among women? Where has your beloved turned that we may seek him with you?

⁹ My dove, _⌊she is the one_⌋;** my perfect, _⌊she is the only one_⌋;** she is _⌊the favorite of_⌋** her mother who bore her. Maidens see her and consider her fortunate;* queens and concubines praise her: ¹⁰ "Who is this that looks down like the dawn, beautiful as the moon, _⌊bright as the sun_⌋,** _⌊overwhelming as an army with banners_⌋?"*

² For* he went* up like a shoot before him, and like a root from dry ground. He had no form and no majesty that* we should see him, and no appearance that* we should take pleasure in him.

³ But if indeed our gospel is veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, ⁴ among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that they would not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. ⁵ For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Christ Jesus* as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for the sake of Jesus. ⁶ For God who said, "Light will shine out of darkness,"* is the one who has shined in our hearts for the enlightenment of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.*
