⁹¹ By your ordinances they stand today, for all are your servants.

²² _⌊As long as the earth endures_⌋,* seed and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will not cease.

¹⁹ _⌊And do this so that you do not lift_⌋* your eyes toward heaven and _⌊observe_⌋* the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of the heaven, and be led astray and bow down to them and serve them, things that Yahweh your God has allotted to all of the peoples under all of the heaven.

¹² Then Joshua spoke to Yahweh, on the day Yahweh gave the Amorites* over to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and he said in the sight of Israel,
"Sun in Gibeon, stand still, and moon, in the valley of Aijalon." ¹³ And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on its enemies.
Is it not written in the scroll of Jashar? The sun stood still in the middle of the heaven and was not in haste to set for about a full day.

²⁰ The stars fought from heaven; from their courses they fought against Sisera.

⁹ For I also am a man under authority who has soldiers under me, and I say to this one, 'Go!' and he goes, and to another one, 'Come!' and he comes, and to my slave, 'Do this!' and he does it*."
