¹⁴ And the king said to do so. And a decree was issued in Susa and Haman's ten sons were hanged.

³ I have seen a fool taking root, but* suddenly I cursed his dwelling. ⁴ His children are far from deliverance, and they are crushed in the gate, and there is no deliverer—

²⁰ But* the eyes of the wicked will fail; and refuge will be lost to them, and their hope is _⌊to breathe their last breath_⌋."*

¹⁵ "_⌊Nothing_⌋* remains for him in his tent; sulfur is scattered upon his dwelling place. ¹⁶ His roots dry up _⌊below_⌋,* and its branches* wither away above.* ¹⁷ His remembrance perishes from the earth, and there is not a name for him on the street. ¹⁸ "They thrust him from light into darkness, and they drive him out from the world. ¹⁹ There is no offspring for him nor* a descendant among his people, and there is not a survivor in his abode. ²⁰ Those of the west are appalled over _⌊his fate_⌋,* and those of the east _⌊are seized with horror_⌋.*

¹⁸ "He builds his house like the moth, and like a booth that a watchman has made. ¹⁹ He goes to bed with wealth, but* _⌊he will do so no more_⌋;* he opens his eyes, and _⌊it is gone_⌋.* ²⁰ Terrors overtake him like the water; a storm wind carries him off in the night. ²¹ The east wind lifts him up, and he is gone, and it sweeps him away from his place. ²² And it hurls at him, and it has no compassion; he will quickly flee from its power. ²³ It claps its hands over him, and it hisses at him from its place.

²⁵ Therefore he knows their works, and he overturns them in the night _⌊so that_⌋* they are crushed.

¹⁰ And* yet a little while and the wicked will not be, and you will look carefully upon his place, but he will not be.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked acting violently and spreading himself out like a luxuriant native tree. ³⁶ Then he passed on* and behold, he was not. And I sought him, but he could not be found. ³⁷ Observe the blameless and look at the upright, for there is a future for a man of peace.

¹⁸ Surely you set them on slippery places. You cause them to fall onto ruin.* ¹⁹ How they become a desolation in a moment! They come to a complete end by terrors.

²⁵ With the passing of the tempest, there is no wickedness, but the righteous have a foundation forever.

²¹ _⌊Rest assured_⌋,* the wicked will not go unpunished, but the offspring* of the righteous will escape.

¹ The _⌊wisest of women_⌋* builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her hands.

¹¹ The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

²⁵ The house of the proud, Yahweh will tear it down, but he will maintain the _⌊property line_⌋* of the widow.

³ By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established. ⁴ And by knowledge, rooms are filled with all riches, precious and pleasant.

²⁴ "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. ²⁵ And the rain came down and the rivers came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it did not collapse, because its foundation was laid on the rock. ²⁶ And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. ²⁷ And the rain came down and the rivers came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it collapsed, and its fall was great."
