¹⁴ and* said to them, "You brought me this man as one who was misleading the people, and behold, when I* examined him* before you, I found nothing in this man as basis for the accusation which _⌊you are making_⌋* against him.

⁴ Then the other administrators and satraps _⌊began to seek_⌋* to find a pretext against Daniel _⌊in connection with the kingdom_⌋,* but they were not able to find any pretext and _⌊corruption_⌋* _⌊because_⌋* he was trustworthy, and no* negligence or _⌊corruption_⌋* _⌊could be found in him_⌋.*

⁴ saying, "I have sinned by* betraying innocent blood!" But they said, "What is that to us? You see to it!"*

¹⁹ And while* he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent a message* to him, saying, "_⌊Have nothing to do with that righteous man_⌋,* for I have suffered much as a result of a dream today because of him.")

²⁴ So Pilate, when he* saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but instead an uproar was developing, took water and* washed his* hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this man. You see to it!"*

⁵⁴ Now the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus, when they* saw the earthquake and the things that took place, were extremely frightened, saying, "Truly this man was God's Son!"

¹ And the whole assembly of them rose up and* brought him before Pilate. ² And they began to accuse him, saying, "We have found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us* to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying he himself is Christ, a king!"

⁴ So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, "I find no basis for an accusation against this man." ⁵ But they insisted, saying, "He incites the people, teaching throughout the whole of Judea and beginning from Galilee as far as here."

²⁸ And although they* found no charge worthy of death, they asked Pilate that he be executed.

²⁶ For a high priest such as this indeed is fitting for us, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and having become exalted above the heavens,
