¹⁹ Pack your baggage for exile, O inhabitants* of the daughter of Egypt, for Memphis will become as a horror, and it will be destroyed, _⌊without_⌋* inhabitant.

⁴ so shall the king of Assyria lead the captives* of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, _⌊with bared buttocks_⌋,* the shame of Egypt.

⁹ Why have you prophesied in the name of Yahweh, _⌊saying_⌋,* 'This house will be like Shiloh, and this city will be in ruins, _⌊without_⌋* inhabitant'?" And all the people gathered around Jeremiah in the temple of Yahweh.

²² Look, I am going to command,' _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, 'and I will bring them back to this city, and they will fight against it, and they will capture it, and they will burn it with fire, and the towns of Judah I will make a desolation _⌊without_⌋* an inhabitant.'"

¹⁸ Come down from glory and sit on the parched ground, O inhabitant, daughter of Dibon, for the destroyer of Moab has come up against you, he has destroyed your fortifications.

²⁹ And the land quakes and writhes, for the plans of Yahweh against Babylon stand, to make the land of Babylon as a horror, _⌊without_⌋* inhabitant. ³⁰ The warriors of Babylon have ceased to fight, they remain in the strongholds, their power has dried up, they have become as women. Her dwelling places are set on fire, her bars are broken.

³ And you, son of man,* prepare for yourself* the baggage of an exile, and go into exile by day before their eyes. And you must go into* exile from your place to another place before their eyes; perhaps they will see that they are a house of rebellion. ⁴ And you must bring out your baggage like the baggage of an exile by day before their eyes, and you must go out in the evening before their eyes like _⌊those who go into exile_⌋.* ⁵ Before their eyes dig through for yourself,* through the wall, and you must bring the baggage out through it. ⁶ Before their eyes, on your* shoulder, you must lift up the baggage in the dusk, and your face you must cover, so that you may not see the land, for I make you as a sign to the house of Israel." ⁷ And I did _⌊just as_⌋* I was commanded; my baggage, like the baggage of an exile, I brought out by day, and in the evening I dug through for myself* into* the wall with my hand in the dusk; I brought the baggage on my shoulder; I carried it before their eyes. ⁸ And the word of Yahweh _⌊came_⌋* to me in the morning, _⌊saying_⌋,* ⁹ "Son of man,* did not they, the house of Israel, the house of rebellion, say to you, 'What are you doing?' ¹⁰ Say to them, 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "This oracle is about the prince in Jerusalem and _⌊the entire_⌋* house of Israel _⌊who are among them_⌋." '* ¹¹ Say, 'I am your sign, and _⌊just as_⌋* I did, so will it be done to them in the exile; into* captivity they will go.' ¹² And the prince who is in the midst of them, on his shoulder he will carry the baggage in the dusk, and* he will go out; _⌊the wall will be dug through_⌋* to bring him through it; and he will cover his face so that he will* not see the land with his* eye.

¹³ Thus says the Lord Yahweh:
"And I will destroy the idols, and I will put an end to the worthless idols from Memphis. And there will _⌊no longer be_⌋* a prince from the land of Egypt, and I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

⁵ Woe to you, inhabitants of the region of the sea, people of the Kerethites! The word of Yahweh is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines. I will destroy you _⌊until there is no inhabitant_⌋.*
