¹³ But the prince of the kingdom of Persia stood _⌊before me_⌋* for twenty-one days. And look,* Michael, one of the chief princes, came to assist me, and I left him there beside the king of the Persians.

⁴ Then the people of the land discouraged _⌊the people of Judah_⌋* and made them afraid to build ⁵ and bribed officials against them to frustrate their plan for all the days of Cyrus king of Persia until the reign of Darius king of Persia. ⁶ In the reign of Ahasuerus, at the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.

²⁴ Then the work on the house of God in Jerusalem stopped, and was discontinued until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

²⁰ Then he asked, "Do you know why I have come to you? ¹ And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing _⌊before_⌋* the angel of Yahweh; and Satan* was standing on his right to accuse him. ² But Yahweh said to Satan,* "Yahweh rebukes you, O Satan!* Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebukes you! Is this not a stick snatched from the fire?"

¹² because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

⁷ And there was war in heaven; Michael and his angels _⌊fought against_⌋* the dragon, and the dragon and his angels _⌊fought back_⌋*.
