¹ For it is unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the ministry to the saints, ² because I know your readiness to help, concerning which I keep on boasting to the Macedonians about you, that Achaia has been ready to help since last year, and your zeal has stirred up the majority of them. ³ But I am sending the brothers in order that our boasting about you would not prove to be empty in this case, so that you may be prepared just as I was saying, ⁴ lest somehow if Macedonians should come with me and find you unprepared, we—_⌊not to speak of you_⌋*—would be humiliated in connection with this project. ⁵ Therefore I considered it necessary to urge the brothers that they should go on ahead to you and make arrangements in advance for your generous gift that was promised previously, so this would be prepared as a generous gift and not as grudgingly granted. ⁶ Now the point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. ⁷ Each one should give as he has decided in his heart, not _⌊reluctantly_⌋* or from compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to cause all grace to abound to you, so that in everything at all times, because you* have enough of everything, you may overflow in every good work. ⁹ Just as it is written,
"He scattered widely, he gave to the poor; his righteousness remains _⌊forever_⌋*."* ¹⁰ Now the one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed, and will cause the harvest of your righteousness to grow, ¹¹ being made rich in every way for all generosity, which is producing through us thanksgiving to God, ¹² because the service of this ministry is not only supplying the needs of the saints, but also is overflowing through many expressions of thanksgiving to God. ¹³ Through the proven character of this service they will glorify God because of the submission of your confession to the gospel of Christ and the generosity of your participation toward them and toward everyone, ¹⁴ and they are longing for you in their prayers for you, because of the surpassing grace of God to you. ¹⁵ Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

²³ And as for the matter about which you and I spoke, look, Yahweh is between you and me forever."

²³ As for Shaddai, we cannot attain him; he is exalted in power, and he does not oppress justice and abundant righteousness.

My heart is moved with a good word; I recite my _⌊compositions_⌋* to the king. My tongue is the pen of a skilled scribe.

³¹ Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, who said,

²⁸ With respect to the gospel, they are enemies for your sake, but with respect to election, they are dearly loved for the sake of the fathers.

⁴ requesting of us with much exhortation the favor and the fellowship of the ministry to the saints, ⁵ and not just as we had hoped, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us, by the will of God. ⁶ So we urged Titus that, just as he had previously begun it, thus he would also complete for you this act of grace. ⁷ But just as you excel in everything—in faith and in speaking and in knowledge and with all diligence and in the love from us that is in you—so may you excel in this grace also. ⁸ I am not saying this as a command, but proving the genuineness of your love by means of the diligence of others. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he* was rich, for your sake he became poor, in order that you, by his poverty, may become rich. ¹⁰ And I am giving an opinion in this matter, because this is profitable for you who not only began previously, a year ago, to do something, but also to want to do it. ¹¹ So now also complete the doing of it, in order that just as you have the eagerness to want to do it, thus also you may complete it from what you have. ¹² For if the eagerness is present _⌊according to what one has_⌋*, it is acceptable not _⌊according to what one does not have_⌋*. ¹³ For this is not that for others there may be relief, and for you difficult circumstances, but as a matter of equality. ¹⁴ At the present time your abundance will be for their need, in order that their abundance may also be for your need, so that there may be equality, ¹⁵ just as it is written, "The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little."*

¹² because the service of this ministry is not only supplying the needs of the saints, but also is overflowing through many expressions of thanksgiving to God. ¹³ Through the proven character of this service they will glorify God because of the submission of your confession to the gospel of Christ and the generosity of your participation toward them and toward everyone, ¹⁴ and they are longing for you in their prayers for you, because of the surpassing grace of God to you.

¹⁰ They asked only that we should remember the poor, the very thing I was also eager to do.

¹⁰ So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the household of faith.

⁵ _⌊circumcised on the eighth day_⌋*, from the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born from Hebrews, according to the law a Pharisee, ⁶ according to zeal persecuting the church, according to the righteousness in the law being blameless.

⁹ But concerning brotherly love, I do not have need to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another, ¹⁰ for indeed you are practicing it toward all the brothers in all of Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to progress even more,

¹ Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need of anything to be written to you,

²⁷ And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside* in him.

¹² Now when* Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews rose up with one purpose against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat,

¹⁵ Now I urge you, brothers—you know about the household of Stephanas, that they are the first fruits of Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the ministry for the saints—

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God that is in Corinth, together with all the saints who are in all Achaia.

⁴ Great is my confidence toward you; great is my boasting on your behalf; I am filled with encouragement; I am overflowing with joy in all our affliction.

⁸ I am not saying this as a command, but proving the genuineness of your love by means of the diligence of others.

¹⁰ And I am giving an opinion in this matter, because this is profitable for you who not only began previously, a year ago, to do something, but also to want to do it.

¹⁹ And not only this, but he was also chosen by the churches as our traveling companion together with this gift that is being administered by us to the glory of the Lord himself and to show our readiness to help.

²⁴ Therefore show to them the proof of your love and our boasting about you _⌊openly before_⌋* the churches.

⁷ so that you became an example to all those who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia,

²⁴ And let us think about _⌊how to stir one another up to love_⌋* and good works,

¹ Now concerning the collection for the saints: just as I gave directions about it to the churches of Galatia, so you do also. ² On the first day of the week, each one of you _⌊put aside_⌋* something, saving up _⌊to whatever extent he has prospered_⌋*, in order that whenever I come, at that time collections do not take place. ³ And whenever I arrive, whomever you approve by letters, I will send these to take your gift to Jerusalem. ⁴ And if it is worthwhile for me to go also, they will travel with me.

¹⁴ For if I have boasted anything to him about you, I have not been put to shame, but as I have spoken everything to you in truth, thus also our boasting to Titus _⌊has proven to be true_⌋*.

⁶ So we urged Titus that, just as he had previously begun it, thus he would also complete for you this act of grace.

¹⁷ because he not only welcomed our request, but being very earnest, by his own choice he went out* to you. ¹⁸ And we have sent at the same time with him the brother whose praise in the gospel has become known throughout all the churches. ¹⁹ And not only this, but he was also chosen by the churches as our traveling companion together with this gift that is being administered by us to the glory of the Lord himself and to show our readiness to help. ²⁰ We are trying to avoid this, lest anyone should find fault with us in this abundant gift that is being administered by us. ²¹ For we are taking into consideration what is honorable not only before the Lord, but also before people. ²² And we are sending with them our brother whom we have tested many times in many things that he is diligent, but now much more diligent because of his great confidence in you. ²³ If there is a question concerning Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. If there is a question concerning our brothers, they are messengers of the churches, the glory of Christ. ²⁴ Therefore show to them the proof of your love and our boasting about you _⌊openly before_⌋* the churches.

⁴ lest somehow if Macedonians should come with me and find you unprepared, we—_⌊not to speak of you_⌋*—would be humiliated in connection with this project. ⁵ Therefore I considered it necessary to urge the brothers that they should go on ahead to you and make arrangements in advance for your generous gift that was promised previously, so this would be prepared as a generous gift and not as grudgingly granted.

¹ Remind them to be subject to the rulers and to the authorities, to obey, to be prepared for every good work,

²⁶ For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

¹ Now we make known to you, brothers, the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, ² that with a great ordeal of affliction, the abundance of their joy and the extreme depth of their poverty have overflowed to the wealth of their generosity. ³ I testify that they gave* according to their ability, and beyond their ability, by their own choice, ⁴ requesting of us with much exhortation the favor and the fellowship of the ministry to the saints, ⁵ and not just as we had hoped, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us, by the will of God.

² because I know your readiness to help, concerning which I keep on boasting to the Macedonians about you, that Achaia has been ready to help since last year, and your zeal has stirred up the majority of them.

¹⁷ What I am saying in this project of boasting, I am not saying as the Lord would say, but as in foolishness.

¹¹ Please take my gift which has been brought to you, for God has dealt graciously with me, and because _⌊I have enough_⌋."* And he urged him, so he took it.

¹⁵ And she said to him, "Give me _⌊a gift_⌋;* you have given me the land of the Negev,* and give me also a spring of water." And Caleb gave to her the upper and lower spring.*

²⁷ So then, this gift which your female servant has brought to my lord, may it be given to the young men _⌊who follow my lord_⌋.*

²⁶ Then David came to Ziklag, and he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, to his friends, saying, "_⌊Here is_⌋* a gift for you from the plunder of the enemies of Yahweh!"

¹⁵ When he returned to the man of God, he and all of his army, he came and stood before him and said, "Please now, I know that there is no God in all of the world except in Israel. So then, please take a gift from your servant."

¹⁷ Not that I seek the gift, but I seek for the profit that increases to your account.

Blessed is the one who has regard for the poor; in the day of disaster, Yahweh delivers him. ² Yahweh protects him and keeps him alive; he is blessed in the land, and you do not give him into the will* of his enemies. ³ Yahweh sustains him on his sick bed. In his illness, you _⌊restore to health_⌋.*

¹⁸ The wicked earns* _⌊deceptive gain_⌋,* but he who sows righteousness, a _⌊true reward_⌋.*

²⁴ There is one who gives yet _⌊grows richer_⌋,* but he who withholds _⌊what is right_⌋* only finds need. ²⁵ A person of blessing will be enriched, and he who gives water also will be refreshed.

¹⁷ He who lends to Yahweh is he who is kind to the poor, and his benefits he will repay to him.

⁹ He who _⌊is generous_⌋* will be blessed, for he gives to the poor from his own bread.

¹ Send out your bread on the water, for in many days you will find it.

⁶ Sow your seed in the morning, and do not let your hands rest in the evening, for you do not know what will prosper— whether this or that, or whether both of them alike will succeed.

³⁸ Give, and it will be given to you, a good measure—pressed down, shaken, overflowing—they will pour out into your lap. For with the measure by which you measure out, it will be measured out to you in return."

¹⁶ So the first arrived, saying, 'Sir, your mina has made ten minas more!' ¹⁷ And he said to him, 'Well done, good slave! Because you have been faithful in a very small thing, _⌊have authority_⌋* over ten cities.' ¹⁸ And the second came, saying, 'Sir, your mina has made five minas.' ¹⁹ So he said to this one also, 'And you be over five cities.' ²⁰ And another came, saying, 'Sir, behold your mina, which I had put away for safekeeping in a piece of cloth. ²¹ For I was afraid of you, because you are a severe man—you withdraw what you did not deposit, and you reap what you did not sow!' ²² He said to him, '_⌊By your own words_⌋* I will judge you, wicked slave! You knew that I am a severe man, withdrawing what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow. ²³ And why did you not give my money to the bank, and I, when I* returned, would have collected it with interest?' ²⁴ And to the bystanders he said, 'Take away from him the mina and give it* to the one who has the ten minas!' ²⁵ And they said to him, 'Sir, he has ten minas.' ²⁶ 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given. But from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.

¹² But I say this, that each of you is saying, "I am with Paul," and "I am with Apollos," and "I am with Cephas," and "I am with Christ."

²⁹ But I say this, brothers: the time is shortened, that from now on even those who have wives should be as if they do not have wives,

²⁰ But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

¹⁰ Now the one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will provide and multiply your seed, and will cause the harvest of your righteousness to grow,

¹⁷ Now I am saying this: the law, that came after four hundred and thirty years, does not revoke a covenant previously ratified by God, in order to nullify the promise.

¹⁶ But I say, live by the Spirit, and you will never carry out the desire of the flesh.

⁷ Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked, for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap, ⁸ because the one who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. ⁹ And let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we* do not give up.

¹⁷ This therefore I say and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the Gentiles walk: in the futility of their mind,

⁴ I say this in order that no one will deceive you with persuasive speech,

¹⁰ For God is not unjust, so as to forget your work and the love which you demonstrated for his name by* having served the saints, and continuing to serve them.

² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and let them bring to me a contribution. You will receive my contribution from every man whose heart prompts him.

⁵ 'Take from among you a contribution for Yahweh, anyone willing of heart, let him bring Yahweh's contribution—gold and silver and bronze,

⁷ If there is a poor person among you from among one of your brothers in one of your _⌊towns_⌋* that Yahweh your God is giving to you, you shall not harden your heart, and you shall not shut your hand toward _⌊your brother who is poor_⌋.* ⁸ But you shall certainly open your hand for him, and _⌊you shall willingly lend_⌋* to him enough to meet his need, _⌊whatever it is_⌋.* ⁹ _⌊Take care_⌋* so that there* will not be _⌊a thought of wickedness_⌋* in your heart, _⌊saying_⌋,* 'The seventh year, the year of the remission of debt is near,' _⌊and you view your needy neighbor with hostility_⌋,* and so you do not give to him, and he might cry out against you to Yahweh, and _⌊you would incur guilt against yourself_⌋.* ¹⁰ By all means you must give to him, and _⌊you must not be discontented_⌋* at your giving to him, because on account of this very thing, Yahweh your God will bless you in all your work and _⌊in all that you undertake_⌋.* ¹¹ For the poor* will not cease to be _⌊among you_⌋* in the land; therefore I am commanding you, _⌊saying_⌋,* 'You shall willingly open your hand to your brother, to your needy and to your poor that are in your land.'

¹⁴ You shall generously supply him from among your flocks and from your threshing floor and from your press; according to that with which Yahweh your God has blessed you, you shall give to him.

¹⁷ And I know, my God, that you yourself test the heart and are pleased with uprightness. I, in the uprightness of my heart, have willingly offered all these things, and now I have seen your people who are found here willingly offer to you.

²⁵ A person of blessing will be enriched, and he who gives water also will be refreshed.

⁶ Do not eat the bread of _⌊the stingy_⌋,* and do not desire his delicacies. ⁷ For, like hair in his _⌊throat_⌋,* so it is.* "Eat and drink!" he will say to you, but his heart will not be with you. ⁸ Your morsel you have eaten, you will vomit it up, and you will waste your pleasant words.

⁵ A fool will no longer be called noble, and a scoundrel will not be said to be eminent.

⁸ But* the nobleman plans noble things, and he stands upon noble things.

³⁵ I have shown you with respect to all things that by* working hard in this way it is necessary to help those who are in need, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."*

⁸ if it is one who exhorts, by exhortation; one who gives, with sincerity; one who leads, with diligence; one who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

¹² For if the eagerness is present _⌊according to what one has_⌋*, it is acceptable not _⌊according to what one does not have_⌋*.

⁹ Brothers, do not complain against one another, in order that you may not be judged. Behold, the judge stands before the doors!

⁹ Be hospitable to one another without complaining.

¹² And wealth and glory are from you, and you rule over all. And in your hand is power and might. And in your hand is power to make great and to give strength to all. ¹³ And now, our God, we give thanks to you and offer praise to the name of your splendor. ¹⁴ And indeed, who am I, and who are my people that we retain power to offer according to these offerings willingly? For everything is from you, and from your hand we have given to you.

⁹ And Amaziah said to the man of God, "Now what should I do with the one hundred talents that I have given to the troops of Israel?" And the man of God said, "_⌊Yahweh is able to give_⌋* to you more than this."

¹¹ Because Yahweh God is a sun and a shield; Yahweh gives grace and honor. He does not withhold good from those who walk blamelessly.

⁹ Honor Yahweh from your substance,* and from the firstfruits of all that will come to you,

²² The blessing of Yahweh makes one rich, and he does not increase sorrow with it.

²⁴ There is one who gives yet _⌊grows richer_⌋,* but he who withholds _⌊what is right_⌋* only finds need.

²⁷ For he who gives to the poor, there is no lacking, but for he* who turns his eyes, there are many curses.

⁸ 'The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh of hosts.

¹⁰ Bring the whole tithe to _⌊the storehouse_⌋,* so that there will be food in my house, and test me please in this," says Yahweh of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour forth for you _⌊an overflowing blessing_⌋.*

³⁶ Now in Joppa there was a certain female disciple _⌊named_⌋* Tabitha (which translated means "Dorcas").* She was full of good deeds and charitable giving which she was constantly doing.*

⁵⁸ So then, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, because you* know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

⁷ But just as you excel in everything—in faith and in speaking and in knowledge and with all diligence and in the love from us that is in you—so may you excel in this grace also.

¹¹ being made rich in every way for all generosity, which is producing through us thanksgiving to God,

¹⁰ For we are his creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we may walk in them.

²⁰ Now to the one who is able to do beyond all measure more than all that we ask or think, according to the power that is at work in us,

¹⁸ But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; _⌊I am well supplied_⌋* because* I received from Epaphroditus _⌊what you had sent_⌋*, a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. ¹⁹ And my God will fulfill your every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰ so that you may live in a manner worthy of the Lord, _⌊to please him in all respects_⌋*, bearing fruit in every good deed and increasing in the knowledge of God,

¹⁷ encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word.

¹⁷ in order that the person of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

¹⁴ who gave himself for us, in order that he might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good deeds.

⁸ The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist concerning these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and beneficial for people.

¹⁴ But also our people must learn to engage in good deeds for necessary needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.

¹⁰ Just as each one has received a gift, use it for serving one another, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.

³ Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.

⁹ _⌊He gives lavishly_⌋* to the needy; his righteousness endures forever. His horn rises high in honor.

¹⁸ Fortune and glory are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness.

²¹ He who pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.

⁸ For a moth will eat them like garments; a moth will devour* them like wool, but* my righteousness will be forever, and my salvation for _⌊generation after generation_⌋.*"

¹³ And now these three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

⁵ For through the Spirit by faith we eagerly await the hope of righteousness. ⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision counts for anything nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.

¹¹ And God said, "Let the earth produce green plants that will bear seed—fruit trees bearing fruit _⌊in which there is seed_⌋*—according to its* kind, on the earth." And it was so. ¹² And the earth brought forth green plants bearing seed according to its* kind, and trees bearing fruit _⌊in which there was seed_⌋* according to its* kind. And God saw that it was good.

¹⁹ Why should we die in front of you, both we and our land? Buy us and our land in exchange for food, then we and our land will be servants to Pharaoh. Then give us seed and we shall live and not die, and the land will not become desolate."

²³ And Joseph said to the people, "Look, I have bought you and your land this day for Pharaoh. Here is seed for you so you can sow the land. ²⁴ And it shall happen that at the harvest, you must give a fifth to Pharaoh and four-fifths shall be yours, as seed for the field and for your food and for those who are in your households, and as food for your little ones."

¹⁰ For just as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and they do not return there except they have watered the earth thoroughly and cause it to bring forth and sprout, and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

¹² Sow for yourselves righteousness; _⌊reap loyal love_⌋.* Break up for yourself fallow ground; it is time to seek Yahweh so he will come and rain righteousness upon you.

¹ "And take care not to practice your righteousness before people to be seen by them; _⌊otherwise_⌋* you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

⁶ Now the point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

⁹ (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),

¹¹ having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.

¹² and may the Lord cause you to increase and to abound in love for one another and for all, just as also we do for you,

¹⁰ for indeed you are practicing it toward all the brothers in all of Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to progress even more,

¹⁰ And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, saying, "Since the offerings began to be brought to the house of Yahweh, we have eaten and been satisfied, and have much to spare, for Yahweh has blessed his people. Now see this abundant remainder!"

⁹ Honor Yahweh from your substance,* and from the firstfruits of all that will come to you, ¹⁰ and your barns shall be full of plenty, and your vats shall burst with new wine.

¹⁰ Bring the whole tithe to _⌊the storehouse_⌋,* so that there will be food in my house, and test me please in this," says Yahweh of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour forth for you _⌊an overflowing blessing_⌋.* ¹¹ I will rebuke the devourer* for you; it will not destroy the fruit of your soil; your vine in the field will not be unfruitful," says Yahweh of hosts.

⁵ that* in everything you were made rich in him, in all speech and all knowledge,

¹¹ while* you also join in helping _⌊on our behalf_⌋* by prayer, so that thanks may be given _⌊on our behalf_⌋* by many persons for this gracious gift given to us through the help of many.

¹⁵ For all these things _⌊are for your sake_⌋*, in order that the grace that is increasing through the many may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

¹⁷ Command those who are rich in this present age not to be proud and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in God, who provides us all things richly for enjoyment, ¹⁸ to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, sharing freely,

⁴ requesting of us with much exhortation the favor and the fellowship of the ministry to the saints,

¹ For it is unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the ministry to the saints,

²⁵ But I considered it* necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, but your messenger and servant of my need,

⁴ I thank my God, always making mention of you in my prayers, ⁵ because I* hear about your love and faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints. ⁶ I pray that the fellowship of your faith may become effective in the knowledge of every good thing that is in us for Christ. ⁷ For I have great joy and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.

¹⁴ What is the benefit, my brothers, if someone says that he has faith but does not have works? That faith is not able to save him, is it?* ¹⁵ If a brother or a sister is poorly clothed and lacking food for the day, ¹⁶ and one of you should say to them, "Go in peace, keep warm and _⌊eat well_⌋*," but does not give them what is necessary for the body, what is the benefit?

¹⁷ But whoever has the world's material possessions and observes his brother _⌊in need_⌋* and shuts his heart against him, how does the love of God reside in him?

²³ He who sacrifices a thank offering honors me, and he who orders his way; I will show him the salvation of God."

¹⁶ In the same way let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

⁸ But when* the crowds saw this,* they were afraid and glorified God who had given such authority to men.

⁴⁶ "And why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I tell you?*

⁸ My Father is glorified by this: that you bear much fruit, and prove to be my disciples.

²¹ So after* threatening them* further, they released them, finding no way to punish them on account of the people, because they were all praising God for what had happened.

¹⁸ And when they* heard these things, they became silent* and praised God, saying, "Then God has granted the repentance leading to life to the Gentiles also!"

¹⁹ And after* greeting them, he began to relate* _⌊one after the other_⌋* the things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry. ²⁰ And when* they heard this,* they began to glorify* God. And they said to him, "You see, brother, how many ten thousands there are among the Jews who have believed, and they are all zealous adherents of the law.

¹⁶ But not all have obeyed the good news, for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"*

¹² Now when I* arrived in Troas for the gospel of Christ and a door was opened for me by the Lord,

⁵ and all pride that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

²⁴ and they were glorifying God because of me.

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

¹ Therefore, holy brothers, sharers in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession,

¹⁴ Therefore, because we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.

⁹ and being perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation to all those who obey him,

²³ Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who promised is faithful.

¹⁶ And do not neglect doing good and generosity, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

⁹ But you are a chosen race,* a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's possession, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,

¹¹ If anyone speaks, let it be as the oracles of God; if anyone serves, let it be as by the strength that God provides, so that in all things God will be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the power _⌊forever and ever_⌋*. Amen.

²⁹ So Absalom's servants did to Amnon just as Absalom commanded, and all the sons of the king got up, and each mounted his mule and fled.

⁸ And I issue forth a decree for what you should do for these elders of the Jews to build this house of God. The full expense will be paid to these men from the riches of the king from the taxes of the province Beyond the River, without delay. ⁹ Whatever may be needed—_⌊young bulls_⌋,* young rams, sheep for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil for the priests in Jerusalem—let it be given to them day by day with no negligence, ¹⁰ that they may offer incense offerings to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king and his children.

Blessed is the one who has regard for the poor; in the day of disaster, Yahweh delivers him. ² Yahweh protects him and keeps him alive; he is blessed in the land, and you do not give him into the will* of his enemies.

²⁶ He who withholds grain, the people curse him, but a blessing is for the head of him who sells.

⁹ And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it runs out they will welcome you into the eternal dwellings.

¹¹ For I desire to see you, in order that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, in order to strengthen you,

⁴ I give thanks to my God always concerning you, because of the grace of God which was given to you in Christ Jesus, ⁵ that* in everything you were made rich in him, in all speech and all knowledge,

¹ Now we make known to you, brothers, the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia,

⁶ So we urged Titus that, just as he had previously begun it, thus he would also complete for you this act of grace. ⁷ But just as you excel in everything—in faith and in speaking and in knowledge and with all diligence and in the love from us that is in you—so may you excel in this grace also.

⁸ For God is my witness, that I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

²⁶ because he was longing for all of you and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.

¹ So then, my beloved and greatly desired brothers, my joy and crown, thus stand firm in the Lord, dear friends.

⁸ Give thanks to Yahweh; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the nations!

³⁵ Then say, "Save us, O God of our salvation; gather us and rescue us from the nations that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.

⁴ Sing praises to Yahweh, you his faithful ones, and give thanks _⌊to his holy fame_⌋.*

¹² so that _⌊I_⌋* may sing praises to you and not be quiet. O Yahweh, my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

It is good to give thanks to Yahweh, and to sing praise concerning your name, O Most High;

⁶ For a child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. And the dominion will be on his shoulder, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

⁶ And he says, "It is trivial _⌊for you to be_⌋* a servant for me,
to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel. I will give you as a light to the nations, to be my salvation to the end of the earth."

¹⁴ "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among people _⌊with whom he is pleased_⌋!"*

³⁸ And at that same hour she approached and* began to give thanks* to God, and to speak about him to all those who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.

⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

¹⁴ But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ, and who reveals the fragrance of the knowledge of him through us in every place.

²⁰ giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to the God and Father,

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of change.

⁹ By this the love of God is revealed in us: that God sent his one and only Son into the world in order that we may live through him. ¹⁰ In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation* for our sins.

¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² The one who has the Son has the life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

⁹ And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to the one who is seated on the throne, the one who lives _⌊forever and ever_⌋*,
