⁸ Then the man of God said to the king, "Even if you give to me half of your house I will not come with you, nor will I eat bread or drink water in this place,

³ And they said, "The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please let us go on a three-day journey into the desert, and let us sacrifice to Yahweh our God, lest he strike us with plague or with sword."

⁶ And on that day Pharaoh commanded the slave drivers over the people and his foremen, saying,

² You will speak all that I will command you, and Aaron your brother will speak to Pharaoh, and he will release the _⌊Israelites_⌋* from his land.

¹⁸ Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, "Even though Balak gives to me his house full of silver and gold, I am not able to go beyond _⌊the command of Yahweh_⌋* my God to do a little or a lot.

¹³ 'If Balak gave to me the fullness of his house full of silver and gold, I am not able to go beyond _⌊the command of Yahweh_⌋* to do good or evil, from my heart; what Yahweh speaks, I will speak'?*

¹⁶ Then he said, "I am not able to return with you or to go with you. I will not eat food nor will I drink water with you in this place. ¹⁷ For a word came to me by the word of Yahweh, 'You shall not eat food, nor shall you drink water there. You shall not return to go by the way that you came.'"

¹⁶ And he said, "_⌊As Yahweh lives_⌋,* before whom I stand, I surely will not take it." Still he urged him to take it, but he refused.

²⁶ Then he said to him, "Did not my heart go with you as the man turned from on his chariot to meet you? Is it time to take silver, clothes, olive orchards, vineyards, sheep, oxen, male slaves, and female slaves? ²⁷ The skin disease of Naaman shall cling to you and to your offspring forever." Then he went out from before him having a skin disease like the snow.

¹¹ And whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you, as you* go out from there, shake off the dust that is on your feet for a testimony against them."

²³ And he swore to her,* "Anything whatever you ask me for I will give you, up to half my kingdom!"

⁹ And when I* was present with you and was in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my need, and in everything I kept myself from being a burden to you, and will keep myself from being a burden. ¹⁰ As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting _⌊of mine_⌋* will not be stopped in the regions of Achaia.
