²⁰ Rejoice over her, you heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets; for God has avenged you on her.

⁴⁹ Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: ⁵⁰ That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

⁷ And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? ⁸ I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man comes, shall he find faith on the earth?

²⁰ And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

⁵ Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

¹¹ And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

² That you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

¹⁷ But, beloved, remember you the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, do you not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

¹² Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.

¹ And after these things I heard a great voice of many people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God: ² For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. ³ And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up forever and ever.
