³ And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the world?

¹⁰ And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speak you unto them in parables? ¹¹ He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

³⁶ Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

³⁹ The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. ⁴⁰ As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

⁴⁹ So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

¹² Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

¹⁹ Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

¹ And when they drew close unto Jerusalem, and had come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

²⁷ For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

³² Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When its branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is close: ³³ So likewise you, when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

³⁷ But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

³⁹ And did not know until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

⁴³ But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have permitted his house to be broken up.

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

³ And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him secretly, ⁴ Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

⁷ And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

²¹ Peter seeing him says to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? ²² Jesus says unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you? follow you me.

⁷ And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has put in his own power.

¹ But of the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that I write unto you. ² For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. ³ For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. ⁴ But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. ⁸ But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. ⁹ For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁰ Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. ¹¹ Therefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, just as also you do.

²⁶ For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world has he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
