³⁵ And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David?

²⁷ And when Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, You son of David, have mercy on us.

⁴¹ While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, ⁴² Saying, What think you of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David. ⁴³ He says unto them, How then does David in spirit call him Lord, saying, ⁴⁴ The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit you on my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool? ⁴⁵ If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?

⁵⁵ In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are you come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and you laid no hold on me.

²⁷ And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,

³⁷ And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

⁴² Has not the scripture said, That Christ comes of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

²⁰ Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, to where the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
