⁷ And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

¹⁰ Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his food. ¹¹ And into whatsoever city or town you shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till you go from there.

¹⁰ And he said unto them, In whatever place you enter into a house, there abide till you depart from that place.

⁴ And whatsoever house you enter into, there abide, and from there depart.

¹⁵ And when she was baptized, and her household, she asked us, saying, If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

³⁴ And when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

⁴⁰ And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brothers, they comforted them, and departed.

⁴ Have we not power to eat and to drink? ⁵ Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? ⁶ Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? ⁷ Who goes a warfare any time at his own charges? who plants a vineyard, and eats not of the fruit of it? or who feeds a flock, and eats not of the milk of the flock? ⁸ Say I these things as a man? or says not the law the same also? ⁹ For it is written in the law of Moses, You shall not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treads out the corn. Does God take care for oxen? ¹⁰ Or says he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that plows should plow in hope; and that he that threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. ¹¹ If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? ¹² If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but tolerate all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. ¹³ Do you not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? ¹⁴ Even so has the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. ¹⁵ But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.

⁶ Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teaches in all good things.

¹⁷ Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. ¹⁸ But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.

¹³ And beside this they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

¹⁷ Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine. ¹⁸ For the scripture says, You shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the corn. And, The laborer is worthy of his reward.

⁶ The husbandman that labors must be first partaker of the fruits.

⁵ Beloved, you are doing faithfully whatsoever you are doing to the brothers, and to strangers; ⁶ Which have borne witness of your love before the church: whom if you bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, you shall do well: ⁷ Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. ⁸ We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers to the truth.
