⁶ That the generation to come might know them, even the children who should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

¹⁰ Especially the day that you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

²⁴ And if we have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have you to do with the LORD God of Israel? ²⁵ For the LORD has made the Jordan a border between us and you, you children of Reuben and children of Gad; you have no part in the LORD: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the LORD.

²⁸ And that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fall into disuse among the Jews, nor the memory of them perish from their descendants.

³¹ They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he has done this.

¹³ Mark you well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that you may tell it to the generation following.

¹⁸ Now also when I am old and gray headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed your strength unto this generation, and your power to every one that is to come.

¹⁶ Let your work appear unto your servants, and your glory unto their children.

¹⁸ This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people who shall be created shall praise the LORD.

⁴ One generation shall praise your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.

³ Tell your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
