¹⁹ He shows his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

¹ And God spoke all these words, saying, ² I am the LORD your God, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ³ You shall have no other gods before me. ⁴ You shall not make unto yourself any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: ⁵ You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; ⁶ And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. ⁷ You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain. ⁸ Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. ⁹ Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: ¹⁰ But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: ¹¹ For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day: therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. ¹² Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God gives you. ¹³ You shall not kill. ¹⁴ You shall not commit adultery. ¹⁵ You shall not steal. ¹⁶ You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. ¹⁷ You shall not covet your neighbor's house, you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor any thing that is your neighbor's. ¹⁸ And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they moved, and stood far off. ¹⁹ And they said unto Moses, Speak you with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. ²⁰ And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God has come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that you sin not. ²¹ And the people stood far off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

¹ Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them. ² If you buy a Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. ³ If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he was married, then his wife shall go out with him. ⁴ If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. ⁵ And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: ⁶ Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him forever. ⁷ And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. ⁸ If she please not her master, who has betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he has dealt deceitfully with her. ⁹ And if he has betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. ¹⁰ If he takes him another wife; her food, her clothing, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. ¹¹ And if he does not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money. ¹² He that strikes a man, so that he dies, shall be surely put to death. ¹³ And if a man lie not in wait, but God delivers him into his hand; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee. ¹⁴ But if a man comes presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; you shall take him from my altar, that he may die. ¹⁵ And he that strikes his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. ¹⁶ And he that steals a man, and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. ¹⁷ And he that curses his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. ¹⁸ And if men strive together, and one strikes another with a stone, or with his fist, and he dies not, but keeps his bed: ¹⁹ If he rises again, and walks about upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be clear: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed. ²⁰ And if a man strikes his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he dies under his hand; he shall be surely punished. ²¹ But, if he continues a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his property. ²² If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no mischief follows: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. ²³ And if any mischief follows, then you shall give life for life,

¹ Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, to do them, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers gives you.

⁸ And what nation is there so great, that has statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

¹² And the LORD spoke unto you out of the midst of the fire: you heard the voice of the words, but saw no form; only you heard a voice. ¹³ And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

⁴⁵ These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spoke unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt,

²² These words the LORD spoke unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

³¹ But as for you, stand you here by me, and I will speak unto you all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

¹ Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you go to possess it:

² And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. ³ Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in your hand: and they sat down at your feet; everyone shall receive of your words. ⁴ Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.

¹ [To the Chief Musician on neginoth. A Psalm or Song of Asaph.] In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

⁵ For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

⁷ He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

⁴ Remember you the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him at Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

² Much every way: chiefly, because unto them were committed the oracles of God.

⁴ Who are Israelites; to whom pertains the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

¹⁵ And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: ¹⁷ That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
