¹ Praise you the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is fitting. ² The LORD does build up Jerusalem: he gathers together the outcasts of Israel. ³ He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. ⁴ He determines the number of the stars; he calls them all by their names. ⁵ Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. ⁶ The LORD lifts up the meek: he casts the wicked down to the ground. ⁷ Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: ⁸ Who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains. ⁹ He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens that cry. ¹⁰ He delights not in the strength of the horse: he takes not pleasure in the legs of a man. ¹¹ The LORD takes pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. ¹² Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion. ¹³ For he has strengthened the bars of your gates; he has blessed your children within you. ¹⁴ He makes peace in your borders, and fills you with the finest of the wheat. ¹⁵ He sends forth his commandment upon earth: his word runs very swiftly. ¹⁶ He gives snow like wool: he scatters the frost like ashes. ¹⁷ He casts forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold? ¹⁸ He sends out his word, and melts them: he causes his wind to blow, and the waters flow. ¹⁹ He shows his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. ²⁰ He has not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. ¹⁴ And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

⁵ And he brought him forth outside, and said, Look now toward heaven, and count the stars, if you be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall your descendants be.

²³ And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt. ²⁴ So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. ²⁵ And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field.

¹ Now these are the judgments which you shall set before them. ² If you buy a Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. ³ If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he was married, then his wife shall go out with him. ⁴ If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. ⁵ And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: ⁶ Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him forever. ⁷ And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. ⁸ If she please not her master, who has betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he has dealt deceitfully with her. ⁹ And if he has betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. ¹⁰ If he takes him another wife; her food, her clothing, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. ¹¹ And if he does not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money. ¹² He that strikes a man, so that he dies, shall be surely put to death. ¹³ And if a man lie not in wait, but God delivers him into his hand; then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee. ¹⁴ But if a man comes presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; you shall take him from my altar, that he may die. ¹⁵ And he that strikes his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. ¹⁶ And he that steals a man, and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. ¹⁷ And he that curses his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. ¹⁸ And if men strive together, and one strikes another with a stone, or with his fist, and he dies not, but keeps his bed: ¹⁹ If he rises again, and walks about upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be clear: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed. ²⁰ And if a man strikes his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he dies under his hand; he shall be surely punished. ²¹ But, if he continues a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his property. ²² If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no mischief follows: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. ²³ And if any mischief follows, then you shall give life for life,

⁶ And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil animals out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

¹ Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, to do them, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers gives you.

⁷ For what nation is there so great, that has God so near unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? ⁸ And what nation is there so great, that has statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

¹² And the LORD spoke unto you out of the midst of the fire: you heard the voice of the words, but saw no form; only you heard a voice. ¹³ And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

³² For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there has been any such thing as this great thing is, or has been heard anything like it? ³³ Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and live? ³⁴ Or has God ever ventured to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

⁴⁵ These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spoke unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt,

²² These words the LORD spoke unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

³¹ But as for you, stand you here by me, and I will speak unto you all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

¹ Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you go to possess it:

⁷ For the LORD your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills; ⁸ A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of olive oil, and honey;

³ That then the LORD your God will return you from captivity, and have compassion upon you, and will return and gather you from all the nations, where the LORD your God has scattered you.

¹⁴ Curds of the cattle, and milk of the flock, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the finest of the wheat; and you did drink the pure blood of the grape.

² And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. ³ Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in your hand: and they sat down at your feet; everyone shall receive of your words. ⁴ Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.

And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabneiah. ¹¹ Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hasshub the son of Pahath-moab, repaired another section, and the tower of the ovens. ¹² And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Hallohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters. ¹³ The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the refuse gate. ¹⁴ But the refuse gate repaired Malchijah the son of Rechab, the ruler of the district of Beth-haccherem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof. ¹⁵ But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Col-hozeh, the ruler of the district of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Shelah by the king’s garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David. ¹⁶ After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half district of Beth-zur, unto the place opposite the sepulchers of David, and to the pool that was man made, and unto the house of the mighty men.

¹ Now it came to pass, when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had built the wall, and that there was no break left in it; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;)

²⁷ For he makes small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to its vapor: ²⁸ Which the clouds do drop and pour upon man abundantly. ²⁹ Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the thunder of his tabernacle? ³⁰ Behold, he spreads his lightning upon it, and covers the depths of the sea. ³¹ For by them judges he the people; he gives food in abundance. ³² With clouds he covers the light; and commands it not to shine by the cloud that comes between. ³³ The thunder thereof declares it, the cattle also, concerning the vapor.

⁶ For he says to the snow, Be on the earth; likewise to the gentle rain, and to the heavy rain of his strength.

²² Have you entered into the treasury of the snow? or have you seen the treasury of the hail, ²³ Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? ²⁴ By what way is the light distributed, which scatters the east wind upon the earth? ²⁵ Who has divided a channel for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; ²⁶ To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, in which there is no man; ²⁷ To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender grass to spring forth?

³ When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;

⁷ Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

⁹ The meek will he guide in justice: and the meek will he teach his way.

¹¹ The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

¹ Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous: for praise is fitting for the upright.

⁴ When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.

¹⁷ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. ¹⁸ Do good in your good pleasure unto Zion: build you the walls of Jerusalem.

²³ But you, O God, shall bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in you.

³ Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. ⁴ Thus will I bless you while I live: I will lift up my hands in your name. ⁵ My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise you with joyful lips:

⁹ You visit the earth, and water it: you greatly enrich it with the river of God, which is full of water: you prepare them grain, when you have so provided for it. ¹⁰ You water its ridges abundantly: you settle its furrows: you make it soft with showers: you bless its growth. ¹¹ You crown the year with your goodness; and your paths drop fatness. ¹² They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. ¹³ The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with grain; they shout for joy, they also sing.

¹³ You shall arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, is come. ¹⁴ For your servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor the dust thereof. ¹⁵ So the nations shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth your glory. ¹⁶ When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

²⁰ To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death; ²¹ To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem; ²² When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

⁷ He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

¹³ He waters the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your works. ¹⁴ He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;

²⁷ These all wait upon you; that you may give them their food in due season. ²⁸ That which you give them they gather: you open your hand, they are filled with good.

²⁰ He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. ²¹ Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! ²² And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

²⁵ For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, who lifts up the waves thereof.

¹⁴ The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. ¹⁵ You are blessed of the LORD who made heaven and earth.

¹ [A song of ascents. Of David.] I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. ² Our feet shall stand within your gates, O Jerusalem. ³ Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together: ⁴ Where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.

⁶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love you.

² As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from this time forth even forever.

³ Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of your house: your children like olive plants round about your table. ⁴ Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that fears the LORD. ⁵ The LORD shall bless you out of Zion: and you shall see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life. ⁶ Yea, you shall see your children's children, and peace upon Israel.

¹¹ The LORD has sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of your body will I set upon your throne.

¹⁵ I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

¹ Praise you the LORD. Praise you the name of the LORD; praise him, O you servants of the LORD.

³ Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

⁵ For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.

¹⁹ Bless the LORD, O house of Israel: bless the LORD, O house of Aaron: ²⁰ Bless the LORD, O house of Levi: you that fear the LORD, bless the LORD. ²¹ Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise you the LORD.

²⁵ Who gives food to all flesh: for his mercy endures forever.

¹⁷ How precious also are your thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! ¹⁸ If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with you.

¹² That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner pillars, polished after the similitude of a palace:

³ Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

¹⁴ The LORD upholds all that fall, and raises up all those that are bowed down. ¹⁵ The eyes of all wait upon you; and you give them their food in due season. ¹⁶ You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

⁸ The LORD opens the eyes of the blind: the LORD raises them that are bowed down: the LORD loves the righteous: ⁹ The LORD preserves the strangers; he relieves the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turns upside down. ¹⁰ The LORD shall reign forever, even your God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise you the LORD.

¹⁵ He sends forth his commandment upon earth: his word runs very swiftly.

³ Praise him, sun and moon: praise him, all you stars of light.

⁸ Fire, and hail; snow, and vapors; stormy wind fulfilling his word:

² Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

⁴ For the LORD takes pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

²⁰ They that are of a perverse heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

³¹ The horse is prepared for the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

¹⁸ Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.

³⁰ Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

¹¹ I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all.

⁵ Why should you be stricken any more? you will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. ⁶ From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrefying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither soothed with ointment.

¹ Now will I sing to my well-beloved a song of my beloved regarding his vineyard. My well-beloved has a vineyard on a very fruitful hill: ² And he dug it, and gathered out its stones, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress in it: and he expected that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. ³ And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between me and my vineyard. ⁴ What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? why, when I expected that it should bring forth grapes, it brought forth wild grapes? ⁵ And now; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be eaten up; and break down its wall, and it shall be trampled down: ⁶ And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor dug; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

⁶ For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. ⁷ Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

¹¹ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, who shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea. ¹² And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

⁶ Cry out and shout, you inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of you.

³² What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

¹³ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come who were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

¹ Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and rely on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who has created these things, that brings out their host by number: he calls them all by names by the greatness of his might, for he is strong in power; not one is missing.

²⁸ Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

³ For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon your descendants, and my blessing upon your offspring: ⁴ And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the watercourses. ⁵ One shall say, I am the LORD's; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall write on his hand, The LORD’S, and surname himself by the name of Israel.

⁷ How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Your God reigns!

¹⁰ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

⁸ The Lord GOD who gathers the outcasts of Israel says, Yet will I gather others to him, besides those that are gathered unto him.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

¹⁷ For bronze I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood bronze, and for stones iron: I will also make your officers peace, and your rulers righteousness. ¹⁸ Violence shall no more be heard in your land, wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

¹ The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

⁴ You shall no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall your land any more be termed Desolate: but you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah: for the LORD delights in you, and your land shall be married.

⁷ And give him no rest, till he establishes, and till he makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

¹² For thus says the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall you nurse, you shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

⁶ Since as there is none like unto you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is great in might.

²² Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? are not you he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon you: for you have made all these things.

¹⁹ And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small. ²⁰ Their children also shall be as before, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.

⁴ Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin of Israel: you shall again be adorned with your timbrels, and shall go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

¹⁷ Ah Lord GOD! behold, you have made the heaven and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm, and there is nothing too hard for you: ¹⁸ You show lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompense the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name, ¹⁹ Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for your eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give everyone according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

³⁷ Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, where I have driven them in my anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:

⁶ Behold, I will bring it health and healing, and I will heal them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.

⁸ The LORD has purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he has stretched out a line, he has not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together. ⁹ Her gates are sunk into the ground; he has destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the nations: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.

¹² The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.

¹⁷ Judah, and the land of Israel, they were your merchants: they traded in your market wheat from Minnith, and olives, and honey, and oil, and balm.

¹⁶ I will seek those who were lost, and bring again those who were driven away, and will bind up those who were broken, and will strengthen those who were sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

²⁴ For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. ²⁵ Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. ²⁶ A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. ²⁷ And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them. ²⁸ And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. ²⁹ I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the grain, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. ³⁰ And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that you shall receive no more reproach of famine among the nations. ³¹ Then shall you remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations. ³² Not for your sakes do I this, says the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel. ³³ Thus says the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt. ³⁴ And the desolate land shall be tilled, instead of lying desolate in the sight of all that passed by. ³⁵ And they shall say, This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities have become fortified, and are inhabited. ³⁶ Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD rebuild the ruined places, and replant that which was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it. ³⁷ Thus says the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. ³⁸ As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

²¹ And say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, where they are gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: ²² And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: ²³ Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwelling places, in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. ²⁴ And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. ²⁵ And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, in which your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell there, even they, and their children, and their children’s children forever: and my servant David shall be their prince forever. ²⁶ Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore. ²⁷ My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. ²⁸ And the nations shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them forevermore.

⁸ After many days you shall be visited: in the latter years you shall come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always desolate: but they were brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

²⁷ When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; ²⁸ Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, who caused them to be led into captivity among the nations: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.

²⁵ Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah, the Prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times.

⁷ But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

¹ Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has smitten, and he will bind us up. ² After two days will he revive us: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

²³ Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he has given you the former rain faithfully, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

⁷ You who turn justice to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth, ⁸ Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:

⁴ But the LORD sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken.

³ The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

³ Seek you the LORD, all you meek of the earth, who have kept his commands; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be you shall be hidden in the day of the LORD'S anger.

¹⁷ The LORD your God in the midst of you is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over you with joy; he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

³ Thus says the LORD; I have returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts, the holy mountain. ⁴ Thus says the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand because of old age. ⁵ And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.

⁸ And I will encamp about my house because of the army, because of him that passes by, and because of him that returns: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with my eyes.

¹⁶ Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. ¹⁷ And they shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him.

² But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up like calves of the stall.

⁴ Remember you the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him at Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

⁵ Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

⁴⁵ That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

²⁶ Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?

⁸ The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. ⁹ For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.

¹³ And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go your way; and as you have believed, so be it done unto you. And his servant was healed in the same hour.

¹⁸ And I say also unto you, That you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hades shall not prevail against it.

³³ Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, who planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and dug a wine press in it, and built a tower, and let it out to tenants, and went into a far country: ³⁴ And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants, that they might receive the fruits of it. ³⁵ And the tenants took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. ³⁶ Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. ³⁷ But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will respect my son. ³⁸ But when the tenants saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize his inheritance. ³⁹ And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him. ⁴⁰ When the lord therefore of the vineyard comes, what will he do unto those tenants? ⁴¹ They said unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other tenants, who shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

²⁴ Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are you better than the fowls?

⁴² Saying, If you had known, even you, at least in this your day, the things which belong unto your peace! but now they are hid from your eyes. ⁴³ For the days shall come upon you, that your enemies shall cast a bank about you, and surround you, and hem you in on every side, ⁴⁴ And shall lay you even with the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave in you one stone upon another; because you knew not the time of your visitation.

¹⁶ Who in times past allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. ¹⁷ Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

¹⁸ To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them who are sanctified by faith that is in me.

¹⁷ Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months. ¹⁸ And he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth brought forth its fruit.

¹³ Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

¹⁷ And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to every man's work, pass the time of your exile here in fear:

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: ¹⁰ Who in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

⁴ But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

⁶ Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

⁴ For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; ⁵ And spared not the ancient world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; ⁶ And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them by a catastrophe, making them an example unto those that later should live ungodly; ⁷ And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy behavior of the wicked: ⁸ (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) ⁹ The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

⁸ And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of saints. ⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open the seals thereof: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;

¹⁰ And have made us unto our God a kingdom and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. ¹¹ And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the living creatures and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; ¹² Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. ¹³ And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever. ¹⁴ And the four living creatures said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshiped him that lives forever and ever.

³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, you King of saints.

And her smoke rose up forever and ever. ⁴ And the four and twenty elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. ⁵ And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all you his servants, and you that fear him, both small and great. ⁶ And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.
