⁸ It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

⁴ Blessed is that man that makes the LORD his trust, and respects not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

⁸ Trust in him at all times; you people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. ⁹ Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: if laid on the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

⁵ Thus says the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD. ⁶ For he shall be like the shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited. ⁷ Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

⁵ Trust not in a friend, put not confidence in a companion: keep the doors of your mouth from her that lies in your bosom. ⁶ For the son dishonors the father, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. ⁷ Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
