²⁷ And after these things he went forth, and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office: and he said unto him, Follow me.

¹⁹ And he said unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. ²⁰ And they immediately left their nets, and followed him. ²¹ And going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

²² But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

⁹ And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. ¹⁰ And it came to pass, as Jesus sat to eat in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. ¹¹ And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? ¹² But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. ¹³ But go and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. ¹⁴ Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples fast not? ¹⁵ And Jesus said unto them, Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. ¹⁶ No man puts a piece of new cloth onto an old garment, for that which is put on to fill it up takes from the garment, and the tear is made worse. ¹⁷ Neither do men put new wine into old wineskins: else the wineskins break, and the wine runs out, and the wineskins perish: but they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.

²⁴ Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

²² Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet you lack one thing: sell all that you have, and distribute unto the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

⁴³ The day following Jesus went forth into Galilee, and found Philip, and said unto him, Follow me.

²⁶ If any man serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serves me, him will my Father honor.

¹⁹ This spoke he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he said unto him, Follow me. ²⁰ Then Peter, turning about, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrays you? ²¹ Peter seeing him said to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? ²² Jesus said unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you? you follow me.
