⁵ How long, LORD? will you be angry forever? shall your jealousy burn like fire? ⁶ Pour out your wrath upon the nations that have not known you, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon your name. ⁷ For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place. ⁸ O remember not against us former iniquities: let your tender mercies speedily precede us: for we are brought very low. ⁹ Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for your name's sake.

¹³ So we your people and sheep of your pasture will give you thanks forever: we will show forth your praise to all generations.

⁹⁴ I am yours, save me; for I have sought your precepts.

²⁵ I, even I, am he that blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and will not remember your sins.

¹⁷ For the iniquity of his covetousness was I angry, and struck him: I hid myself, and was angry, and he went on backsliding in the way of his heart.

¹⁰ And the sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister unto you: for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor have I had mercy on you.

¹² Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Israel, says the LORD; and I will not cause my anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, says the LORD, and I will not keep anger forever.

²⁴ O LORD, correct me, but with justice; not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing.

²⁰ Why do you forget us forever, and forsake us for so long a time?

¹⁸ Who is a God like unto you, who pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retains not his anger forever, because he delights in mercy. ¹⁹ He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰ You will show truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, which you have sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

² O LORD, I have heard your speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.

⁴ If Edom says, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus says the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD has indignation forever.

¹⁷ These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved forever.

¹⁰ And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
